People PLEASE don't buy the DLC

That will teach Activison that they are screwing with the wrong community. The reason they keep doing this is because of those damn 9 year olds COD games. If there is something new they will buy it. We gotta put an end to this.Dont buy anything from those goddamn shitbags. I'm not talking about Bungie since I know they aren't those type of people. We refuse to be treated like SHITT People will probably not read everything and just reply with a STFU.But It won't affect me. Edit:The people who have the expansions, don't have to comment saying they have it.I am talking to those who don't have it and don't have t waste money buying content that was supposed to be in the game to begin with Edit2:I love this game. The pvp is really good and the mechanics and everything.I am only saying that people shouldn't blindly do what they are told. The DLCs could be really great and make up for it.But I want the content that was supposed to be in the game. They advertise and show of really good things about the game and when you get it you end up scanning something, defending the ghost. All I'm saying is the story wasn't what we all were expecting. We thought Bungie would write an awesome story like they did with Halo. But apparently not Edit3:I would've never expected that many to comment but since it happened,I wanna say thank you to all those people who understood what I was saying. To the other people who were gonna "buy" the DLC because I just gave them an advice,go ahead and enjoy it when it releases. This community has become shit since those cod players who don't expect much turned up here.Oh how I wish the good old halo 3 days were back when all Halo fans gathered here and helped each other. But I guess everything has an end.

  • Too late, bought the DLC with the game. Destiny IMHO has been a great game so far (with small flaws) and I'm looking forward to the release of the DLC.

        • Not buying the DLC isn't going to hurt Activision at all. It will most definitely hurt Bungie though. So I will be buying the DLC. As I received the game for a Christmas present, $35 for a game is a steal!!

        • Not buying the DLC hurts Bungie more than it hurts Activision. It's possible that it might not hurt Activision at all.

        • Yeah i do think Activison has their thumb in Destinys ass. I think if bungie got to make up what happens, i think they would for given us the entire game and then build off that. Not a 1/100 of the game then give us Little bit we have to bye.

          • Buying the DLC the day it comes out. No amount of whining and tears from the petulant and entitled "gamers" on this forum will dissuade me from that course. I have been enjoying the hell out of the game just fine and I am looking forward to what Bungie has in store.

I'm not getting the dlc. But not to show activision. I'm not getting it because I don't feel it is worth wasting my money on. Especially given that I feel the game as it stands is incredibly flawed and don't feel it right that I have topay to get a coherent story. As a writer myself, I can't understand a world where a writer could live with this decisionfor a story.

            • Yes don't support the game that'll "show" Activision alright. Show them how to pull the plug on the whole project maybe.

            • Simply not buying the DLC won't "hurt" Activision. It's pointless to even try to get back at Activision with something as petty as this even if they are responsible for Destiny's woes since it will only hurt Bungie. I'd like to point out however that as a publishing company, and not some dark entity that the OP and some people think Activision is, Activision has shown the capacity to be able respect it's developers and not rush their IPs to release or else Blizzard would seriously be crying out for help right now. They don't tend to rush Blizzard to release things until they are ready but they used to do that to CoD with the two year development cycle I know they are guilty of that but they worked on that and now each developer gets three years for each major CoD game with the introduction of Sledgehammer Games. So they have made some strides with their other developers and their IPs to improve their rep so don't bash them too much but if they are indeed the ones that rushed Destiny to market for whatever reason they dropped the ball big time and I won't defend them there. Yet Activision signed a ten year contract with Bungie and granted that could have been out of desperation since they might have lost their edge in the shooter market due to the turmoil at Infinity Ward and they simply wanted to pick up Bungie to help solidify their position. In the end though it's still a big show of faith to Bungie as a developer or at least it shows Activision's confidence in Bungie's ability to craft great games to turn a profit. Either way they have more confidence in Bungie than some people on these forums do so they are committed to bringing Bungie's vision to life in some capacity. Still they will not continue to support a game with no player base around it due to boycotts, no pressure from players to make it better for a sequel or make the present iteration better because people don't voice their thoughts due to other people on forums thinking it's meaningless and especially not with a developer so many people are seemingly quick to turn on. They do have a track record to uphold so they won't mess up like this for future Destiny games but they will not be as grand or as amazing as Bungie ultimately envisioned since Activision will most likely not back them as hard after witnessing this launch. If you want to help Bungie realize everything they wanted to craft for us (which is hopefully more than what we have been given at present) then the OP is right don't throw your money at Activision by blindly pre-ordering DLC without voicing what you think the original game is lacking because you don't think your opinion matters because Activision is too large to care (at least believe that they don't want their products to waste away on store shelves) but don't sever all ties to Destiny completely either. Keep coming back to play and show Bungie and Activision that there is a player base to facilitate and warrant an expansion of the world of Destiny. My rant speech thing is over but as I said above I think Activision was the one that put a bit too much pressure on Bungie to release Destiny earlier than it should have been but I also agree that Destiny as it stands now is pretty in line with what Bungie promised us back in the ViDocs so maybe this really is their full, or near finished, vision content wise for the base game which is not as grand as what we were hoping but it is still good. I'm going to start to make some assumptions here and disregard Destiny's lack of story and talk about just content since we are talking about DLC. I agree that this free content we are getting of late is something that should have been available at launch so it isn't free at all so perhaps Bungie is trying to expand the world they couldn't piece together fully, if they did indeed have a forced launch due to Activision, by putting some pieces back in the game in the form of weekly events and the addition of things like the first raid. I think this is pretty valid since the payed DLC doesn't hit until December so that means October and November will be filled with things to enjoy. Fingers Crossed Guardians
