Gunslinger useless?
Seen so many posts about how useless gunslinger subclass is compared to others. I will agree it is light on support skills but it can be a killing machine with the right set-up.
Bungie has shown the class with sniper rifles mostly so ppl seem to think that's the only way gunslinger needs to be played. Imagine taking the increased reload speed and weapon stability perks. Prioritize armor and health over agility. Use the perk that makes enemies explode when killed with the golden gun.
This build would let you use heavy machine guns and high rof auto rifled to devastating effect since you could reload quick and maintain accuracy. Golden gun for aoe dmg on tougher enemies. Steady dps isn't useless. I don't see anything that the striker or voidwalker class can do that gunslinger can't.

thats basically how I used it during the beta. I focused on armor and agility and tried to were armor that boosted my melee and auto rifles

It's only useless in PVE but great in PVP Bladedancers good though

Gunslinger isn't bad. In fact, its probably the most useful classes in pvp. However, in pve, it just doesn't pack quite the punch that the others do. Golden gun doesn' seem to insstantkill a lot of enemies, and the rest of its abilities can be matched or exceeded by abilities of the other subclasses.

Gunslinger class has it downs and it does require more skills then most classes as being a headshot need but it does have many advantages including being one of the best sniper build with increased stability and reload with throwing knife still usable if someone was close as well really good with scout and revolvers as well he's also one of the best crowd controllers with over penetration and combustion but in any case no class will be better with revolvers then this class so far

I think I can make Hunter Gunslinger work just fine in a support role PvE. Swarm grenades with drones that seek out enemies, throwing knives that set enemies on fire, Golden Gun shots that can hit multiple enemies AND make them explode? It's a crowd control bonanza.

1 ReplyPVE ist mostly about your gear anyway. Anyway will play bladedancer I think, have to see how stealth works first. And taking care of those single high value targets. You know Hunter style.

2 RepliesCompletely agree with you, the only problem I see is that in PvE, when using the golden gun on bosses, or tougher enemies that survive the 3 shots, no orbs of light are generated. I know that it doesn't happen for FoH or NB either, but they seem to me to be more crowd control kinda/ take out the trash abilities, whereas golden gun seems more useful for the bosses/tougher enemies. Anyway, just my thoughts, will be playing Bladedancer ASAP :P

1 Replyyeah i used chain of woe to make the machine gun reload bearable. In the earth cruicible map, a hunter focused on speed is very powerful when paired with a shotgun - point C especially has many entries and exits

4 RepliesI've watched my brother play the gunslinger.... He was awsome. Get chain of woe( precision kills increase reload speed stacks 3 times) then,get gunslingers trance(precision kills increase weapon stability stacks 3 times) then get some armor that increase weapon reload speed and now you got a weapon ready bad ass. Get over the horizen(increases range of golden gun) and dead eye(increase accuracy of golden gun drastically) plus a sniper that can pick up ammo for a sweet sniper build. Just in my opinion.

I had a crap tone of fun with Gunslinger. I saved Golden Gun for the right moments though. I would nade the hell out things thanks to a passive on my pulse rifle that reduced the grenade cooldown whenever I killed an enemy with it. Can't wait to get a hunter going again.
