If it's non-existent to the dedicated player, why would you care if it's gone? If it's an essential feature, why is it at the point where it's "non-existent?" CoD exists, but are you going to pretend that CoD has the same gameplay that D2 does? As well, I have friends that play D2, I can't say the same about CoD. I would be okay with the level grind if it were something substantial, but it's not. It just serves as a way to gate activities behind playtime in specific activities and across weeks. There are aspects of D2 that I find fun, and would like to participate in. The Light grind is not one of them, which hinders my ability to do the things I find fun, meaning I play the game less and less. I'm certainly not the only player with this sentiment, many of my other friends have stopped playing D2 because they can't stand the Light grind at all. So why, at one of D2's lowest points, where they're struggling to bring in new players, do they cling onto a half-baked system that only serves to make the game harder to get back into, or into in the first place?
