They need to be heavily nerfed in the ttk value. Reduce RoF, reduce headshot damage in PvP, or undo all of the ease-of-use buffs they have received over the years. They are a weapon type with 0 risks to its use and still provide one of the best base primary ttk. For those unaware, their 0.67 ttk value is equal to that of Pre-nerf Not Forgotten and Luna's Howl. those two hand cannons saw a year-long meta in forsaken and got their rightful nerf. 340s weren't strong to begin with but through many ease-of-use buffs they became the most consistent weapon type to use in all of Witch Queen and now Lightfall. Easy-to-use weapons shouldn't also be the most lethal. A good example is 180 Handcannons now. Terrible range, Bad 1.0s ttk, and weird hit reg. But when you get a kill with one and the damage perks start? You have a beast that can out-gun any other HC archetype. See where I'm going with this? Higher Risk = Higher reward. I personally think every other pulse type is fine. But 340s offer 0 risks for a fantastic reward. Before anyone says it, No CQC is not a risk for it. There are only 3 maps where getting caught in CQC often is a possibility. I haven't seen an anomaly match in a hot minute but endless vale and cauldron are a slight possibility. but every other map allows for 340 pulse users to plant themselves in a nice spot well out of the range of all primaries but scouts. And Frankly, if you play like that, you deserve a bad ttk value. Like 0.9s because you are choosing to play incredibly passively.
I have heard that they are generalizing range values but I'll hold my breath because the broken aspect of 340 pulses is not their range. It's their ease of use coupled with their ridiculously quick ttk. gotta nerf one of those 2 things.

4 RepliesEdited by A_mo: 6/23/2023 8:11:33 PMThe new messenger just came out though. Even still 340s are complained about by a pretty wide variety of player. If all the weapons are strong 340s are yikes and if all the weapons are average 340s can still be yikes. The ones that two tap don't need to be able to do that if they're still able to. As far as ttk or ease of use. I'd prefer ttk if they are still supposed to relevant after a nerf because "ease of use" nerfs will basically put a weapon on the shelf a lot of the time. Maybe they need some time on the shelf though. I have used them quite a bit and to be perfectly honest you'll be getting away with things sometimes where you don't even feel like you could defend it. It's like they're weapons that shouldn't even come with perks sometimes. I do love them but it's one of those things where those of us who do like them have to be honest. EDIT: I really can't believe I just typed an anti 340 post.

7 RepliesSure thing, but also add weapon away to snipers, as they counter every single thing in the game that’s not behind a barrier.
