When you offer a way to PAY to NOT PLAY the game, you know the dev knows it's crap
As I've read in a couple other posts, it's quite obvious that Bungie is aware of how bad the game is right now, how much of an insufferable grind the story campaign is, and how terrible the so-called "story" has become. They literally offer a way to skip it by paying them MORE MONEY.
So, rather than make the game more fun, more rewarding, with a story that makes sense and progresses through the seasons, they made the entire thing take longer... er, sorry, I mean, they "made it more challenging," they provided an annual DLC that is less content than most previous seasons, put more effort into fixing cheeses that benefit the players than the countless bugs and issues that have been plaguing the game for months, and have the unmitigated fuk'ing audacity to publish a twab praising their efforts, thereby showing the community that it really is Bungie's way or the highway.
And knowing how much this causes players to not want to play the game, they offer a way to avoid the pain and suffering that this game has become - JUST BUY YOUR WAY OUT OF IT.
Hint: Just DON'T BUY INTO IT in the first place.
Bungie, you are no longer capable of creating a decent video game. Your efforts over the last few years have shown that. Your greed, arrogance and egotistical attitude toward your players is unmatched in the industry.
Too bad you're also too cowardly to accept feedback that doesn't fit your ideas, and admit that you're wrong.

I do most all content on all 3 characters — usually OK (except unlocking stasis on them was hyper-tedious!) Did current story mode on normal 3 times. Then found out I need it done on legend for guardian rank 8. 😬 Not sure I’ll do that (completed final mission on legend just to see - under the stairs glitch) But yeah, pay to not play kinda weird.

Reading through the OP post he talks about how he got ripped off but he still paid for it 2 more times. What the hell is wrong with people these days not having any self-control?🤦♂️ Either way, I think it's scummy that this business stoops this low.

1 ReplyI don't think devs came up with that idea. Senior leadership who don't play or understand video games did. They know how to do one thing and that is make money. Those are the soulless losers you hate, not the actual developers who just do what they are told like every other worker at every other company.

2 RepliesIt saddens me to know that some poor sap probably caved and ended up paying for the skip. If you don't believe me, look at how many people are willing to pay for those holiday cards. I can't think of a game dev that tried to nickel and dime their players as much as Bungie is right now. Even EA didn't reach these levels.

This system has been around since d1, it's not a new thing they're introducing, you're taking a piece of old content and applying it to your own thought closeted thought process of new content and creating an issue that doesn't exist

12 RepliesIn Warframe you can buy every single item in the game with real currency ,wealthy Tenno can skip the Hamster wheel completely and buy new stuff instantly , like a infection gun that take 2500 of a rare (like 1-3 per mission) resource just to get the blueprint, or just buy it straight out with platinum

10 RepliesHomie you can run through the whole campaign on on an alt in like 3 maybe 4 hours probably less than that. And by the end of it if you’re weapons are high enough you’re over 1770 anyways. I honestly feel bad for anyone who bought the skips such a waste and pretty sure with queen had a skip to. Also not to mention the campaign skips came from here the community asking for it 😂

1 ReplyYep ! Been a few months now with LF. 9 years and counting ….for Bungie now ….this is the way ! They will drag d2 through the two years on the tiger server , squeeze every last dollar before pulling the plug . It’s so well known now how bad things are ….so people really do have a choice to play or not . I have lost all interest apart from Quickplay which is ….was the most solid activity….servers are really struggling at the moment . A lot of us have beeen playing for years and want to see through to the end , but at the same time watching a game that you fell in love with slowly lose its appeal is sad. It’s just a video game at the end of the day …..Bungie owes us nothing . Life goes on !

4 RepliesMeh I ran it day one on legend got it done it was mediocre and annoying and felt rushed. It made me feel like they should've just cut this year out and jumped to final shape so much bs in one bad season its enough to make you quit. The story was badly put together and the seasonal story was crap too, this was one of those so bad it ruins the game for you kind of things. The game has went straight into the toilet for me after strand was put in PvP too the weapons are annoying and if I see another immortal I'll puke. Also the difficulty changes were a bad idea in PvE, I really hate what this year has done to the game I used to love wasting time in this game now I find myself avoiding it all together. The only good thing about this new year of content so far is it finally broke the addiction to this game for me so it can rot for all I care now, Imma catch up on The Mandalorian screw this game.

11 RepliesEdited by waterpolo1: 4/25/2023 6:04:10 AMThis campaign is a grind? What? OP clearly never played D1, vanilla D2, Forsaken, Shadowkeep, or Beyond Light. There is a nugget of truth in your other criticisms but Witch Queen and Beyond Light don't have the grind or filler "collect 100 of this" "collect 200 of that" "do 15 public events" missions that the older campaigns had. Finishing this campaign by playing it, especially your 2nd and 3rd times, is a quick 2 hours blitz. The story of Beyond light is very bad. No defending that. But the whole "skip" campaign option was an idea thrown around by people on these forums because "i don't want to replay the camping two more times" since D1. Blame those people for this even being an option.
