Blaming Sony for Eververse is like blaming Disney for Hulu raising prices. You can complain all you want, but microtransactions are the future, whether we like it or not.

If only there was a way to not have to purchase any given goods or services 🤔

Look at what they did with micro transactions in Gran Turismo 7 .. alienated that community, one of the most loyal in gaming, to the point that the players were trashing the game ratings online. Eververse gets eight refreshes a year, four seasons and four events. Nothing else in the game gets that much attention.

I've always hated Eververse since it's inception in D1. Back then I already suspected that it would take more and more space at the expense of the rest of the game. In our conversations, ppl kept defending Eververse. Saying that it was just a little thing that didn't make any difference. Back then I made a promise to myself never to buy anything from Eververse. EVER. And I never had. To this day. Nor I ever will. Now the Telesto thing is just the latest one. We've all seen over the years how more and more resources have shifted from the actual game to the Eververse content at the expense of everything else. All I had foreseen back then has come to pass, and more. Unfortunately. All I see as the time passes is more and more ways of monetizing content. And mark my word: "It's only going to get worse." The game was the only thing there was. Before Eververse. Now the game is just a bit of content (often recycled), while Eververse is front and center, and the reason the game exists at all. How the mighty have fallen.....

When I heard that Telesto was”broken” in game and have sparks come out of it, those Telesto Eververse cosmetics that have those same sparks flying out came to mind. I should have realized that Bungie was planning something with Telesto ever since they gave Banshee-44 a Telesto at the Tower.

Silly little meme event for an emblem you mean. Just don't buy the shirt, eververse is always expected so ignore it otherwise you might as well get mad for Bungie selling title pins and other clothes related to the seasons. It's always been "Do thing, unlock ability to buy store item". We had a little shenanigan, something to break the uneventfulness of the week. Was it not even a little entertaining? I had some fun playing bubble blower mode and completing a raid with the cluster function.
I'm done. D2 is now just an Eververse showroom
When was it ever anything else. That’s why the base game went free-to-play.
