Ive always wondered why we cant recustomise characters? As in redo our genders and facial reconstructions. Especially given the steps bungie have taken with initiatives involving trans employees and equality in general, surely the playerbase should be able to partake and redesign a character to be who they identify with? The mechanic is in the game from creation, is it a coding issue to reactivate it or that the choices get fixed statically? It seems such a small qol to be able to give back, even with a small payment, given the work that has already gone into designing and creating the models

I just want my beard to be represented in game…. What does Bungie have against beards? Only character that I can think of is Drifter…
surely the playerbase should be able to partake and redesign a character to be who they identify with?
They weren't "assigned" (see what I did there?) that character, they created that character. So how is the character you created yourself not one you identify with? Sounds like a you problem.

Wrong wording. Demand an "affirmative surgery" for B to listen.

1 ReplyWe don't need to attach an agenda for the option to re-customize characters.. they can just allow us to re-customize characters because it should just be a function. Leave the alphabet brigade out of it.

Edited by rottingvermin: 8/5/2022 2:49:27 AMMix and match all options. No more female and male separate features. Will it happen? No. The tower would all be tran ez !- and Bungie hates their activism being mocked

General contempt for the community is why

A couple years ago Bungie mentioned they are researching a character editor. Then, nothing more was said. I remember back in Y1 of D1 there was a delay of about 15 seconds when I finalized my characters and waited for the game prepare for the first mission. The character editor code is probably so tightly coupled to portions of the game that refactoring the code would require a major effort. The best you can hope for is a D3 some day with a character editor that can be used after character creation.

1 ReplyUnless they think that people will pay 800 silver to rework their character, there is no way it'll happen. Either that or their software is too old to handle it. If it is, they should just admit it. They can't even rotate ships that they expect us to buy so we can see them from all sides so I'm not hopeful.

why ? because $$$

6 RepliesThey didn't even offer a one-time recustomization when they changed how some of the character options looked, forcing people who chose those original options to just deal with the "updated" model whether they liked it or not. I'm going to bet that, at this point, they just don't see any value in letting people do this. Remember, Bungie got offended when asked about including a volume slider back in the day. It's either that or terrible programming that relies on the character model being locked upon creation for other things to function correctly. Either way, I don't think Bungie has ever acknowledged the desire to change player appearance. At least, I can't recall any instances of it.
-
You wonder why? It's more than obvious Bungie doesn't want to because it takes time and resources they don't want to put into the game. This has been a request since D1 Y1, but besides that it gives them that extra padded play time they want from you.

Wish we could upvote this topic to a point Bungie feels obligated to respond 😈

2 RepliesThat'd be nice. Probably too much work for them though lol. I made a grave mistake with my titan & warlock...now the helmet stays on 💀

3 Repliessomething so simple but would make so many people happy.

My warlock has decided to become female. My hunter wants a new haircut. my titan needs some tattoos

2 RepliesPeople will forever be haunted for their choices unless they make a new character.

Ehy Guardian. This feature has been asked since the earliest days of Destiny. Last time we've heard something about it it ws when Luke SMith was still on charge as Game Director, like a couple of years ago now. After that, zero news. I'm afraid this is not gonna happen soon =/ or maybe Bungie will surprise us and this will happen with the launch of Lightfall, who knows?

1 ReplyGuardians have been wanting this QoL upgrade since the early days… Given BHQs professed support of rainbow issues and the pins they sell, one could be forgiven for thinking that they’re just in it for the money and the hype!?! SMH 🙄

This is destiny 2 we’re talking about. The game where content had to be removed on mass to ensure stability and weapons apparently have a memory limit that orb generation from masterworking nearly maxed out. Given everything I’ve heard and seen, I do believe that customizing your character after creation would be an insanely difficult task for the devs to pull off. If it were easy, it probably would’ve been added much like how transmog was added, so there must’ve be at least some difficulty.

2 RepliesYou could always vault your good armor, delete your mistakes and start from scratch. I've done it before.

Been waiting for an answer on this for quite some time……..

Folks have been asking for this since D1 launched. Don't know why it isn't an option but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for bungo to implement it. Seems like the least of their priorities these days.

I would love to edit my exo warlock
