Simple really. The wording or data for idol things like "FLAWLESS" or "STATS" for PVP is meaningless in public matchmaking. It is not an accomplishment to some people who are truly skilled. The only things that matter are the in-game decisions you make to kill your opponents in a fight. I see what your saying though. How is it an accomplishment to kill some random kids who have low experience when your a high level black belt? There is none. It is an illusion. The only time these achievements matter is in tournament against the best teams or players across the world. That whole, Flawless = Good or MM Stats = Best means absolutely nothing since High Level PVP Tournaments exist across all genre of gaming. It is 100% Vanity. TRIALS IS NOT THE STANDARD FOR THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD. ONLY TOURNAMENT IS. Public Matchmaking is just for fun or rewards in PVP. Nothing else. Rank? V A N I T Y . Stats? V A N I T Y . Titles? V A N I T Y . It is kill or be killed AT ALL TIMES. 24/7 365 ALL GAME MODES PUBLIC MATCHMAKING TOURNAMENT PRIVATE LOBBIES That is what PVP is... Only the vanity and safeguards make people delusional to think it's anything other than that. You can be mad sure but PVP is War. The only real reward is Death.

  • Maybe I’m a little high but what the hell are you talking about? You’re saying that because trials isn’t played at the professional tournament level that winning and gilding a title are all meaningless? I mean, from a comparing destiny to “professional game” like counter strike? Sure I agree all day. It’s not designed to be that way, and not even on topic lmao

  • He said there is no prestige in getting flawless in his post because it was earned by defeating bad players. I'm saying this game mode is not the standard where the best of the best compete or earn prestige. It's tournament. He asked, isn't this where the best of the best go flawless? The best of the best don't give af about flawless. It's vanity. It only counts in tournament because your competing against the elite towards the end and not some random players who were matchmade. PVP is about killing your opponent. At the highest level, you may earn money (Vanity) but the true reward is the damage your opponents will remember you by when you kill them. You are respected by how you give your opponent a good death (the only real reward) but you get all goodies on the side. Distractions of rewards, titles, useless data like stats, etc. It's part of the system sure, but when someone 360 no scope kills you in tournament, that is remember and felt. Not the numbers or titles... It's not about being pro but the environment and caliber of players your facing. Matchmaking is a joke. Tournament is the only real place you will face players on ACTUAL DEMON TIME and not some randoms wanting rewards.

  • Also what the hell is “actual demon time”? I’m really trying to follow you but I am struggling. Also it would be a bit insane to have a tournament structured that would require 7 wins. In a single elim tourney that would be 128 teams. You wanna sit around until there’s that many and no longer have a mercy card? If they do create a tourney mode, that would be cool but as mentioned tournament play is not even apples and oranges to trials it’s more like apples and chocolate. Not even remotely on the same topic.

Ever hear of Round Robin tournament format? It’s not a perfect system but solid players play, I definitely remember it when I get owned, and I definitely get the dopamine drip when I win. Based on destiny stat trackers I’m only top 10% and went flawless 5x this weekend. It’s not just sweats and elites lol. Not sure why there’s this hard on for tournament play, but it’s a difficult game mode. And winning cake matches on a 6 win card against low-tier opponents is definitely not the norm and more the exception to the rule of their matchmaking system. Folks on here really like to take isolated incidents and exaggerate them to be expressed as the norm.
