Bungie: We want to make Exotic Primary weapons stronger and more usable.
Also Bungie: We are nerfing one of the most powerful Exotic Primary weapons in the game because its hurting a side mode We don't support and barely care about in a PvE game.
This is really getting old. Another gun hurt because of PvP. I was really looking forward to the Exotic weapon damage buff and thought to myself "wow I think that Subsistence DMT I farmed is finally gonna shine" and then to read that right after is just...wow. You actually caved and destroyed the entire point of weapon you put so much work and pride into. Good job 👏
EDIT: Anyone who has ever used 110 Handcannons and then 120 or 150 and now 140 knows how noticeable 150 to 130 is, so save your breath dear community. Not interested in opinions anyway. A nerf is a nerf.

1 ReplyNo one is using DMT in PvE.

1 ReplyWhen I saw the nerf I thought to myself many people are going to toss this in the vault/trash and call it a day. But then again I don't hipfire mode at all. Should have just nerfed the rof in pvp only because it is indeed oppressive when team shooting. Frost's trials video with Lemur he walks into a hall and gets laid out in a second from one shot of Igneous and DMT.

11 RepliesNerfing "one of the most powerful Exotic Primary weapons in the game" sounds fine to me.

5 RepliesStill gonna be the best scout rifle in the game. PVE in Destiny isn’t good enough to stand on its own. If it was, they wouldn’t tune weapons as much as they do for PvP. If they didn’t nerf DMT, the new Witch Queen exotics wouldn’t sell. They have to keep the pay to win model going even if nobody admits it is pay to win. I can’t believe they didn’t nerf the range/damage fall off too. The gun is still going to be strong in the right hands. The nerf will just punish the less skilled players who spam hipfire in PvP.

10 RepliesIt’s still going to be fine for pve. Nothing really to be mad about here.
-
5 RepliesThe 40% damage buff should make up for it.
-
10 RepliesBarely

2 RepliesI mean it was gonna get nerfed eventually, and given the gun relies on it’s crit buff in pve I’ll take a RoF nerf over something like an accuracy nerf any day.
-
5 RepliesOh my god get over it, it has its damage buff and will be fine. Go kill dregs with another gun if it’s THAT big of an issue.🤦♂️
-
6 RepliesIt won’t hurt it in the slightest.
-
9 RepliesLet's compare the 40% damage buff with the small fire rate nerf? This isn't an opinion, this is just some basic thinking.
-
And PVP players say guns dont get hurt because of PVP, smh🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
-
They could have kept the fire rate the same and instead decreased the damage when hipfiring in PvP (kinda like an opposite version of The Last Word in Destiny 1), while leaving the damage in PvE untouched. Oh well.

Well hopefully that Sony money can help them hire somebody that actually knows how to separate PvP from PvE when it comes to nerfs/buffs
