This isn't great pvp news.......
The tweets were so disappointing but don't get me wrong I am happy that destiny is going with a new lead especially with them having to pick up the half ass work done by Luke Smith. But getting reissued maps from destiny 2 that have been vaulted isn't a good idea. If you're in such a state in development for witch queen or other things, then I would rather have 2 vaulted maps beginning of the season. Then give us old maps from d1 at least three of them because I'm sick an tired of playing the same maps for the longest.
Look I love the pvp gameplay in this game but it has massive issues such as peer to peer still, hackers (console hackers as well), no real anti-cheat, weapon balancing, and just not being rewarded as a community especially the ones that been here since day 1 of destiny's history going through all broken metas everything! I hope when battlefield 2042 comes out that you bungie realize your mistakes and start making better decisions just like cod. Most of us are burnt out on a game that has so much lore so much gun play with the role you farmed for. Stop acting like you have to work on another pvp title because in all honesty destiny can be so big if you just focus on your community just like you did with Halo. Some of us though somehow all believe in you but it's dwindling and its not our fault its yours.

The reason why PvP has been neglected is because Bungie had to rescue this franchise from both the split with Activision (lost 1/3 of the workforce AND the major source of the game's development funding), AND the final resolution of a in-house conflict over the identity of the game. The losing side in that conflict were those who wanted the game to be PVP oriented....and had led the game and the franchise to disaster with vanilla D2. Those guys were---Josh Hamrick and Jon Weisznewski ---were unwilling to get on board with a PVE and RPG focused game. So they left and went to work elsewhere. PVP has been neglected because these guys---who were the driving force behind it----were gone. If you're invested in PVP, I honestly suggest that you might want to invest in another game. The fate of PVP in the franchise is questionable. Despite Blackburns cheerleading for it. 1. The kind of balanced game that PvP players want is not compatible with the direction both LS and Blackburn have committed this game to. PvP in MMOs and RPGs are unbalanced contests of build strength (like Gambit) not balanced tests of fighting skill. 2. The market in FPS is saturated, and there are a lot of better games out there. 3. Bungie's approach and tech is dated, and can't really be upgraded without a complete re-write of the game. 4. Bungie is having to go to court to address many of the issues involving cheating because they can't find a technology-based one. I used to really like Destiny 1s PvP. I did. But Bungie is LOST right now, and I don't see this ship ever getting righted given what Bungie is doing....and where the franchise is heading. I've been saying for two years that a reckoning around PvP was coming....and I think its finally here....

Yeah, it’d be nice if Bungie would actually focus on weapon balancing and god damn matchmaking balancing before giving us more maps that probably be as much of pieces of dog feces as the ones currently in the damn game

They’ve made consistent money off us with these season passes and yearly expansions + eververse. They have the resources

3 RepliesYou're better off investing into another PvP game. They've admitted they don't have enough resources when Joe said they're trying to hire more people. My guess is the bulk of their PvP staff went to their new IP when Destiny became f2p which left Destiny PvP out to dry and receive little support since shadowkeep. This is the amount of content you can expect for PvP for at least another year.

5 RepliesOf all the pvp based games, Destinys pvp mode is some of the best around as far as variety of weapons, freedom of movement, supers etc. So why is it left to drown in the mire so badly?

I think Halo Infinite might actually be the game that makes other PvP games have to do something. If they execute it to it's potential that is.

1 ReplySo in a year I might be able to play a new/old map.. but the maps are random so in order to play that new/old map I may have to suffer through playing the same old boring maps? Meanwhile I spawn - get shotgunned? I refuse to believe that the people at Bungie are so ignorant to this game that they are incapable of realizing thatnit’s literally impossible to play more than half the maps in the pvp playlist and not end up face to face with a shotgun ape at least twice a game. Somehow the think that tweaking stats will fix that? Seriously? How is changing stats gonna affect point blank range? Empty promises and half assed efforts is defining Bungie.

Indeed I have to agree the last time I played destiny was just before the transition to shadow keep. yep that long ago.. but I have tried to play PVP matches and when you get one round to head or 3 taps and your dead . you are slinging rounds and rounds in the players just about able to knock the shield down before that single round kills you. you do think WTF?. you ned to understand BUNGIE don't care about that.. just keep paying for your seasons . untill DESTINY 3 (I think the idea has worn thin). so most players will play team games as hacker ant interested in that area. and low and behold your kills go up. I quit PVP one on one when I could not handle it any more and like any gamer who plays for the sake of playing will be as salty as I was( still am ). with the level of possible cheating because of mods for consoles. I play NO pop now... yes I here you won't get this or that.. well would you want to play an area you can't win at. to obtain a piece of gear. no me either.
