There are so many fundamental issues that stem from the two halves of the game being connected idk where to begin. PvE is now stale, stagnate, unimaginative, and lazy and has been for the last few years. Now this partly is from most of the objective stuff being ''protect ghost'' while its chillin being lame or bank a mote aka random triangle, but a BIG reason are the uncool weak weapons, armor and perks. You know why most of them are lame except most heavies? It’s because it can’t be TOO cool or it'll fully break PvP more than it is. Think about in destiny 2 what most perks do on legendaries 90% of the time its damage buff, weapon feel or cool down reductions that's it nothing that will VISUALLY excite you at all but all things that can be used in PvP. I don't want to compare games but even a flawed game like OUTRIDERS will drop a random BLUE weapon that can summon lightning or conjure a storm or inflict different effects it might not do a lot of damage but the visuals do a lot for the power fantasy of a game. In D2 we have thunderlord (garbage) and cloudstrike (meh). There's rarely a weapon that makes you go OOOOOoooo look at this, it’s all re-skins or the "feel" is different and no one is excited grinding strikes to get a gun that just ''feels'' good. And when exotics RARELY do something cool generally it’s a barely better version of an existing legendary perk(sun shot=dragon fly).So many perks are just plain garbage of course you run out of ideas when your backed into a self-made corner of dang we'd like to make something that maybe causes successive shots on an enemy makes them explode or lightning or shoots flames buuuuuut lets make pulse monitor and grave robber instead. BOOOOOOOOOO Secondly please focus a season on quality-of-life changes here’s a few things we are missing -Strike specific loot especially for the longer ones no one likes to do -Weapon bounties for all playlists to target farm slightly better -Exotic weapon/armor updates -crucible maps -subclass tree revamp PLEASE stop making these lame seasonal activities no one likes them for more then 2-3 weeks then they realize deng I’m just killing stuff with bland weapons and straight up banking motes. I imagine lots of dev time is honestly wasted on creating these areas for people to engage with it for a week then stop. Work in the seasonal stuff into the core playlist reskin some strikes add in different dialogue…etc. More and more people are logging on to destiny on Tuesday and getting off immediately after even myself because there’s no reason to do any of it now. Someone could just say don’t play it if you hate it but I want the game to be good I really do. These are just a few of my thoughts.
