Why should I have to pay 500 glimmer to change shaders, let alone mods on anything?

It's a sh11ty charge that does no purpose in the game other than waste glimmer. There's no point in doing this when the process to unlock customization and ornaments is already a slog. I don't need Warframe levels of grinding to unlock cosmetics. Just let them be free, doesn't hurt anyone to remove a glimmer requirement.

Theodore Roosevelt once said and I quote, "those who complain about a problem without offering a possible solution are doing nothing but whinning." Also Abraham Lincoln once said, "it is better to be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt." Think and do some reasearch before you whine, also dont whine be constructive and complain about a possible solution This isnt meant to bash but to inform

    • It's the same cost as it takes to purchase copies of a shader from your Collections, minus the Legendary Shards.

      • Spending glimmer is not a problem. Anyone who suggests it is just doesn’t know how to play. The real problem with the new shader system is the increase in Bright Dust cost to acquire a shader from Eververse. That’s insane. But gotta make that money somehow. Still not a huge deal. There’s many, many bigger problems with this new setup and grind for transmog.

        • Probably because trying to pull it out of the game would break something else. Josh Hamrick tried to nerf a Hunter ability late in Destiny 1 that he hated in PVP. Hungering Blade. Problem is that in doing so he broke EVERY healing ability in the game. Because they all shared common coding. Class abilities. Weapon perks. Armor perks. Legendary AND exotic. Every healing ability in the game used the code he changed....and it broke EVERYTHING. The Perfect is often the Enemy of the Good Enough. So you have to accept the Good Enough solution. Not having to have your inventory filled up with single use shaders is a HUGE QoL improvement. If you play the game, 500 glimmer is a trivial cost. Especially when the game gives away all sorts of boosts to the rate we earn glimmer.

            • It already costs something to pull a shader out of collections right? That’s why. This is probably the lowest on the problems with Transmog pole.

              • Glimmer is the easiest currency to earn. You can quite literally do anything and get it.
Sorry, all out of salt.
• I don't know the purpose of this though. If theyre charging 300 Bright Dust for one shader to put it on should not cost anything. Even MORE so with mods. We need to rapidly and repeatedly change them - if you don't run a mono-loadout which they say they're against. After upgrading a lot of gear I ran out of glimmer, just to swap mods. I ended up not being able to play Crucible but waste time in locations collecting glimmer....it was ridiculous! I know of no other game that charges you to flip mods you've already unlocked.

                • Grind time? Besides making Eververse shine what else is Bungie going to do since they don't want to put the resources into this game? IMO there are 5 things that went really wrong with this game that actually hurt the game and caused the direction the game is heading now that is not a good thing at all. 1. Separating from activision 2. The new light system 3. Eververse 4. Everyone above the devs that do the actual work 5. Seasonal content It's good that Bungie is making a hell of a lot of money, but the content in this game is hurting really bad because the resources are not being put into this game as it should be. And Matter and what other projects they got going on is not helping this game in any way. See, for the last year or so all Bungie has been doing is talking a hell of a lot about "improving the game", but at the same time removing a hell of a lot of content and constantly looking for ways to show numbers...
How is downsizing the vendors in this game since forsaken removing options from them improving this game? How is controlling what players use each season knowing the artifact is pre-set to what they want us to use improving the game? How did removing Factions to replace them with Guardian Games to promote Eververse improve the game? How is constantly recycling content improving the game? How is manipulating stats using mobility to do that, making 90% of gear that drops in this game pointless to acquire improving the game? How does 75% of the none replayable content in this game improving the game? How does contently removing content improve the game?
So when Bungie says they are "improving the game" Show me? because I don't see it at all and haven't seen it since Forsaken. All I've seen is that Bungie has literally been doing is majorly downsized and limiting a hell of a lot of options that gives that (players choice) looking for more ways to have players grind while promoting Eververse. Oh, that's right, Dreaming city is going bye-bye too.

                    • Anything to keep you grinding, even the most mundane and inexpensive crap like 500 measly glimmer adds up. Its the same reason we have the pointless cap on ascendant shards, upgrade modules and enhancement prisms. "But people just hoard them and never use them if you don't have a cap", some people might say, yet I hear stories about players with their vaults FULL of masterworked exotics as a way to bypass the cap on these materials, go figure. Plus all it takes is 1 trip to the Spider on a stonks day and that's it to refill your glimmer but ya know... extra trips, find a way to make literally everything a grind, give 0 incentive for players to spend resources and make things overly expensive. *cough* exotic armor masterwork *cough*

                    • Yeah maybe we should go back to the Forsaken era where there was nothing to spend your resources on, so that we can go back to people complaining about how all their stockpiled resources are completely useless. We love going in circles here in the Destiny community!
