I'm not gonna get into the entirety of sunsetting. That said: Class items don't offer any benefits until you masterwork or slap mods into them. It doesn't make sense that armor without stat values at base should be sunset. At the very least, if you ARE going to have class items sunset we should be refunded ALL material invested into it once dismantled. At least that way we can masterwork the next piece of gear. Other alternative is to make class items DO something for the season they're associated with.

No armor should be sunset. It’s not good for the longevity of the game.

1 ReplyI say bring back the exotic class items.
-
Armor shouldn’t be sunset.

5 RepliesMeh this is honestly the item I care least about getting sunset. Literally just grab the season pass one that’s already rank 6, change the element if you want, and upgrade it. Boom, class item will now last until Y5.

Edited by AbsolutZeroGI: 2/20/2021 8:56:31 PMAs somebody who abuses my warlock bond, I can see both sides of this argument. While I would absolutely love to keep my original Forsaken era dreaming city bond with transcendent blessing and the original heavy ammo finder (that is still functional) I get why bungo doesn't want me to have it anymore. I still use it in last wish raids tho. Lol.

1 ReplyNothing should be sunset. Stop trying to compromise when bungie havent

Nothing should be sunset in general. Sunset my gear, sunset my business.
-
IMO they should bring in exotic class items that give you a 15 boost to your guardian class. Hunters 15 mob, titans 15 res, warlocks 15 rec. And have an extra slot for the mods from the season pass.

Edited by JasperGTR: 2/20/2021 11:08:17 PMBut then how will Bungie guarantee that players are grinding and seeking out new class armors, instead of playing, having fun, and infusing new class armor into old class armor? It's not like they'd make something worse than previous seasons. I mean - who would do that?
-
Edited by Emurinus: 2/20/2021 10:16:51 PMThere isn't a point to sunset armor as a whole; almost all of them function exactly the same and the only differences are appearance (which won't matter either once transmog comes) and, for raid/endgame armor, the mods they can slot (the latter of which is easier to depreciate). Light level is literally the only incentive for grinding new armor right now, and that is not an incentive but a pathetic excuse.

Low content requires us to tread water for what we already had. Until they change or we stop paying for the privelege.
-
They only sunsetted armor so that we have to continually regrind armor and not use the same high stat set forever. That’s really annoying when high stat armor is a chore to grind
-
Everything is disposable now.

*armor

1 ReplyThere's a hint of belief sunsetting was done for customer good in this post. lol no it's just to bloat playtime.

1 ReplyMemory of Cayde: "Hey, take me with you." Bungie: No.

10 Replies1. No armor should be Sunset. 2. All Legendary gear, to include armor and weapons should be included in Transmog. 3. Add a Barbershop/appearance editor with more facial customization options, primarily hairstyles and facial hair options, as well as things like headsets, visors, and eyepatches.

Sunsetting armor is pointless in general and it was either tpo tough fpr them to separate it from being sunset or just bad decisions
-
1 ReplyBut that would create exceptions and that's a slippery slope. What next, you want to NOT have to grind for Power level????
-
2 RepliesArmor shouldn’t be sunset period
-
3 RepliesNOTHING should be sunsetted ... ok maybe only pinnacle weapons but ONLY they
-
2 RepliesWeapons should be sunset if there are enough to replace them. That’s where bungie failed. Armor should never be sunset.
-
Out of all the items that can be sunset you pick the class items for taking a stand against it? I was pretty neutral about the whole sunsetting issue from the time it was announced. Didn't really care much for it when it first hit us but came back to a neutral stance on it. I didn't really car much for the armor being sunset but it doesn't bother me very much now. The thing that bothered me the absolute least was the Bonds. No grinding, no hunting, no chasing that 'perfect stat roll'. Simply grab a few decent ones and they are good for a long time.

Bungie: Nope, makes too much sense.
