What is this communitys take on Fanfiction?
Destiny has a large potential for players to create their own stories, so what is it's take on them?

I like them. For me I just come up with stuff on the fly and add humor to them.

Personally I think it should be encouraged, as it shows community member’s appreciation of the franchise, shows creativity, helps young writers practice, and can help writers get feedback. Not my cup of tea, however to me the positives outweigh the negatives. That being said, I’m of the opinion there should be a better place to share community creations, as the lore sub forum can react negatively towards them. A creations forum where people could post art, stories, clips, etc. with no review period, would be ideal. Have the best art/videos be put in the actual creations tab. But that’s unlikely to happen, so do whatever.

Not into fanfic, so I don’t read them. I don’t mind they exist though, would be good if I could mute fanfic tab as I do like to hear some of the authors thoughts on in game lore.

If you don’t like seeing them, just mute the writers. People act like they’re being forced to dig through fan-fictions in order to find lore discussion posts.

1 ReplyI create my own stories too, they’re just safely packaged inside my head, because I don’t want people judging it ;-; There’s absolutely nothing wrong with fanfics; the reason some people hate it here is because they usually associate fanfics to smut/p0rn which is not the case most of the time

I considered making some but certain lore things and developments mess with the plot so I just rather leave it since I would have to retcon a bunch of lore. Too much work
