I really think there should be a minimum content law that before a game is released it is thoroughly checked for corner cutting and laziness. The art team for Destiny 2 is phenomenal but this expansion is garbage. Bungie is unbelievably lazy when it comes to rehashing story missions as “content”.
Bosses in strikes are no longer unique ever since they started using story missions as strikes. Lazy way to consider it content.
Bungie uses story missions as chores for advancing quests for your skills and activity gates. It’s so monotonous and boring. They call it “content” when it’s just repetition. Nothing in this game is difficult with time and patience (exotic).
I feel WAY too much was gutted from the game, like way too much. They could have kept everything, idgaf about the file size and growing game. Stop making garbage content and the size is by default quality size. Removing the content to rehash it as new is fine, but not like the joke that is the cosmodrome, excuse me, like 2/3s of the old cosmodrome. Absolute joke, nearly non existent.
I understand I can just “stop playing the game”, but Ive grown with it and the company is becoming BEYOND lazy. It’s sad and pathetic. Sunsetting went WAY too far. The same garbage items are already in the game. I never even used “meta weapons” for raiding or top content. All you need is above minimum dps and to pull your own weight. More dps just finishes a boss fight faster for people’s convenience. As long as you do mechanics and perform above minumum you’ll beat encounters just the same. Sunetting weapons you enjoyed using was pointless. The model data is still in the game and you are just limited by stuff you dont want to use or have fun. It makes no sense. NOT ONLY THAT, but they just redish out the same weapon at a higher light. It makes no sense or value. Our work effort and fun is punished for no reason.
TLDR: beyond light is lazy and bungie needs to be held accountable.

3 RepliesConsider that Bungie leans far left politically and there is no accountability for the left.

Edited by ArmyKnight75: 11/16/2020 3:22:41 PMGaming companies are held accountable, by their gaming community. The problem with this community, and many others, is that they are willing to accept mediocrity, rather than expecting excellence. Bungie has absolutely no reason to even attempt to exceed even basic expectations because the community really doesn’t care when it comes down to it. We purchase everything and anything that Bungie releases and then complain about it after we have already rewarded Bungie by purchasing the content. Luke Smith and company are sitting back with their legs kicked up on a desk laughing at a bunch of suckers. He was correct in his little slip up when he mentioned several years ago that we will just throw money at the screen. Many of you fell for the line that he was only joking because he’s a funny guy... That’s honestly how Bungie thinks of this community though and we have proven it time after time. We purchase every single -blam!-ing thing that they release and we do not hold Bungie accountable. It’s not for the government to hold companies accountable, that lies solely with the consumer, so take a good look in the mirror and you will find where the fault lies. This is not Bungie’s fault, this is our fault. Bungie is giving us exactly what we deserve. We accepted mediocrity and that’s what we have been getting for several years now. A company that is not expected to exceed expectations will not exceed expectations. Let’s pretend that you want to purchase a pair of shoes for $150. You order the shoes and the brand markings immediately fall of and the soles wear out in a week. You call the company and they respond that they made a mistake and it will be corrected in the future. You also can’t return the shoes after purchasing them. Your friends are all ordering these shoes too because they look cool. You go ahead and order another pair a while later and the same thing happens. Then you do it again with the similar results, but this pair is slightly better. This time you have to return one of the shoes though. You order another pair, but only get the opposite shoe w/o laces. Making shoes is hard work though, so we took one of your shoes away and sent you only one for the same price. Now, you’re stuck with a pair of shoes that don’t match and one shoe has no laces. You will get the laces for that shoe over the next year. Then you can order another shoe when it’s released and get the laces for that shoe soon after. So you are now stuck with a mismatched pair of shoes for an entire year and can’t even wear one. Are you still going to support this company?

Check out a review if your worried about not enough content? Might save you some money.

Well...don’t pay them. That’s how you hold a for profit company to account.

Ha, thanks, I needed a laugh

You whiney little B. Your not forced to buy or play. It's your choice. The owe you nothing. It's your own expations that let you down, not bungie. They make a product and then sell it. They make no guarantees as to game play, content, or your f'ing happiness. Grow up.

21 RepliesWe need buyer protection laws on digital content for video games. You are forced too agree to the TOS before you play the games so you are forced into keeping a product even if it does not deliver as advertised.

Blame the influencers

oh my god
I really think there should be a minimum content law
No.
TLDR: beyond light is lazy and bungie needs to be held accountable.
So stop giving them money.

2 RepliesI never thought i would see liberals (yes, liberals) whining en masse over govt on this forum. I guess they like getting it up the butt by corporations. Gj.

1 ReplyNo. The government is already way too big and they have no business being involved in any way with video games.

1 ReplyIt's disturbing that your post has upvotes.

So you want government over sight over...gaming? Stop and think for a moment, please. If we let governments start telling companies what is and isn't viable content then a game like Destiny wouldn't exist. Games like CoD wouldn't exist. -blam!- man, the VAST majority of FPS's currently on the market would be thrown out the window. Also a law like this would have to be passed in an international court and be made into international law, otherwise games just wouldn't release in places where a 'minimum content' law is active. This would also push a lot of indie devs out of the game because they don't meet standards. TLDR; Your idea is stupid in the extreme.

Crucible armor gambit armor an vanguard armor is same just a different color an cloak design.. was highly disappointed. Then you’ve got factions missing once again with Ada blocked off lol like wtf? We gonna have a whole new design of iron banner armor or are you bringing back the same styles from 3 years ago?

There’s a way to hold a company accountable. Don’t buy it. Look, I even gave you a simple answer without a long winded diatribe about some law mandating good games.

Sorry in advance for the negativity, but putting the government in charge of regulating video game content is one of the stupidest things I've ever read on any gaming forum. Like plenty of others have said, Bungie can be held accountable by not paying for content and/or refusing to play certain parts game (or the entire game as a whole if you feel it's gotten to that point). That's really 90% of the fight right there, and people who take that stance should actually commit to it.
-
32 RepliesYou hold them accountable by spending your money somewhere else. That’s how capitalism work. But until you’re willing to walk away? All you’re doing is teaching them to ignore you. I hate what Bungie has done to the Crucible. CBMM was the last straw. So I stopped playing. I hold them accountable by not playing the parts of the game I find unacceptable.

1 ReplyThey are held accountable. If people find it lacking, they don't buy the next one. Unfortunately for you, you continue to buy and then complain, then buy again. Almost because you know it's still better than anything else on the market. If it wasn't fun, you wouldn't have bought it. If A=B and C=A then C=B If people are stupid and you are people then... well. You know the rest.

Edited by OldboyVicious: 11/15/2020 6:54:12 PMHeld accountable for content? Yes. Consumer protection laws to avoid false advertising, laws on how to get refunds, laws against “bait-and-switch” tactics, those are all great. Having a government agency preview content in video games before they are released? Not so much. Games would end becoming triple the price for half the content. Game delays would be rampant. By the time a game actually got released the technology would be ten years behind the industry. Gaming as a whole would be a stunted obsolete industry within a few years. A game comes out and they don’t meet the requirements for charging 80$? They will figure out how to add two more hours (or however many they need so they can charge full price) and trust me, those extra hours won’t be quality gameplay. It will be timed delay mini games, walking, a mandatory tutorial, core gameplay will suffer as bloat is added to fit the time/content metric so they can charge more.
-
3 RepliesThere is a law in place for this. Law of the real world. If your products suck people don't buy it and you go bankrupt.
-
Edited by vinstri: 11/15/2020 7:52:02 PMVideo games are an art form and entertainment. Regulating the arts is a bad idea. I agree that Bungie rehashes content, but people in every other art form do the same: TV, movies, painting, fashion. There shouldn't be laws to censor artists. If you don't like the game turn it off, just like you'd turn off a TV show you don't like. There are a lot of gaming companies that keep trying to rewrap their one hit.
-
1 ReplyDumbest thing I read in a while. Capitalism has a great thing where consumers decide. Bungie will get hit in the wallet if they sell garbage. Getting laws involved and government regulations...wtf you must be like 15 years old
-
Yeah stop playing That's how every other industry functions. Product sucks? People stop buying it. Really is that simple. Sounds like you lack self control, and may have a possible addiction.

6 RepliesA content law? You want the government to regulate video games?
