Simple example!
Earlier deathmatch results were like 15, 14, 14, 10, 9, 8. So low-skilled players had sweaty seassions too! And argument that top players are tired of sweaty matches isn't valid. Worse players also had tough matches.
Now results are: 28, 16, 12, 5, 3, 2. Top players get easy frags and low-skilled players don't have a chance. This is unfair, Bungie literally stole the game from low-skilled players who had paid for it!

3 RepliesI paid for the game, I deserve access to Timmy No Thumbs

The sweats don’t care about that or anything else.

No its not unfair at all lol. There was no sbmm back in the beginning of crucible. Especially back in D1. Take me for example my kd in d1 was below a 1 but I kept playing crucible more and more because I enjoyed it anyways and as a result I found myself becoming a pretty decent player In d2. And honestly cbmm is a lot more fair than sbmm because everyone is able to match anyone equally.
-
1 ReplyIf you are playing football on the streets you can't be sure everyone is equally good (Control playlist). If you want to be treated fairly you have to play in a football club (Survival playlist).
-
Even though I get farmed I actually almost prefer CBMM because since I am put with better players I am forced to improve and try harder. As well as also see how they play.
-
2 RepliesLife is unfair. Get used to it. SBMM does NOT belong in a niche pvp experience like D2. It’s not competitive so why try pretending so? Play or don’t. Truth is you probably only play 4games a week per character anyway. Are your feelings so fragile that you can’t even attempt to improve? LoL this new generation is screwed.... Get your loot and go back to killing dregs. Leave the PvP to the ppl who actually stay there.

If you're seriously that bad then the matchmaking switch did nothing but stop having the game hold your hand and artificially lowering difficulty for you as much as possible. Remember, the average skill level in any given lobby is now effectively random. With randomness in the matchmaking, you should be running into average players more often than not because they make up the largest proportion of the player base. If you're still regularly getting stomped by roughly average level players then you and your skill/refusal to try and improve is the problem, not the matchmaking. Bungie didn't "steal the game" from you. They stopped giving you special treatment and started making you play the same game as everyone else.
-
"Fair" is not only defined by playing against people on your skill level... Fairness has 2 components: "Relative Skill" + "Connection". Even if you put 2 equally skilled players against eachother in a laggy game, it isn't fair that the outcome of their duel is determined by RNG due to poor bullet registration. Connection > Relative Skill in terms of importance for "fairness".

9 RepliesPlayers of all skill levels paid for the game before it became free to play, they didn’t steal anything from you. Pretty much all shooters had no SBMM in the past and that worked fine, you got wrecked until you learned how to play, and nodoby had these tantrums about it. Biggest issues with SBMM are the extended queue times and lag issues that both increase exponentially for above average players (and for players living in sparsely populated regions, or players who have to play outside their regions peak hours), they paid for the game just like you so why should they get an inferior experience ? You can improve if you are not happy with your performance, but you can’t do anything about not having enough worthy opponents in your region under SBMM, lack of players within a skill bracket forces the game to extend the search area and often enough you end up connecting players from multiple continents which results in horrible lag.

The misuse of the word literally, is literally making my head hurt.
-
Go play comp if you want SBMM
-
The only way I’ve gotten better is thanks to going up against harder opponents

4 RepliesLower skilled guardians now have every incentive to be rewarded with better stats as they improve, and they will improve faster because the game is not feeding them artificially low skill competition. The only people SBMM favors are those who are bad and don’t want to get better.
-
1 ReplyNo one is trying to die so therefore they fight to live. Play pve if you want to mow down mobs of brainless enemies
-
The low skilled players are the ones who show up for the free engram, after 4 matches they’re done, Rinse and repeat..bungie should make it 1 Match complete so they don’t have to punish them selves.
-
1 ReplyIn my Opinion we should Boycott all 6v6 playlist including Iron banner. If you want your pinnacle play elimination or comp they are SBMM. If enough of us quit playing, Bungie will take notice, and maybe make a change. What we need is a choice of either SBMM or CBMM. If you want SBMM back boycott crucible. Tell your friends to spead the word.

9 RepliesI only played PvP in IB this season. I am a middle of the road solo player and I didn’t see in issues. Is quick play sweatier than IB?

2 RepliesFair isn't the right word. It's Fair of everyone is playing under the same system. It's not an improvement for most people. The connection improved for a portion of people, but the competitiveness got wrecked for a larger portion of people. Enjoy your farming top 5%, people Will definitely stop playing.

3 RepliesI don’t really mind CBMM, but I can see where you’re coming from. I’m a rumble main, and I’ve always loved the atmosphere of sbmm rumble because games are usually pretty close, and a level of intensity is maintained throughout the game. Yesterday for example, I had a game of rumble where the guy in first had a 21 k/d, the rest of the lobby didn’t break 10 kills. A few matches later someone finished the game with a 10 k/d, rest of the lobby didn’t even break 10 kills. Games like this are normal now. Sometimes I’m the stomper, sometimes I’m getting stomped on. There are no more close matches in rumble. I don’t hate they new rumble, but it’s not the one I know and love.

13 RepliesI agree. Those who defend the changes, and say that we shouldn't complain and just 'get good', clearly operate under lowered intellect and are not worth arguing with. They'll never see that it's not a case of playing against opponents way out of your league and learning by getting your ass whipped. Anyone who argues otherwise doesn't understand how learning works. Take athletics and sports. No junior league team will learn anything or develop their skills by playing against seasoned professional players. You dont put kindergarteners up against high schoolers. Every major, competitive sport has brackets and leagues. Individuals and teams learn by refining skills in their own bracket and move up or down depending on performance. That's what skilled based matchmaking was, and crucible was actually enjoyable for a time. Now it's just a sweat fest. Casual modes should be just that ~ casual. How can Bungie ensure that gameplay is fun and actually casual again? By reinstating skill based matchmaking. Those who want high level competition, you've got IB and Trials for higher stakes and rewards. I tend to keep out of those, as I know I'm not good enough. And I'm fine with that. But the crucible was different. It felt like more of an even playing field. But now, people who aren't as good at PvP but would like the pinnacle reward, have to endure 4 matches of getting stomped or just forget the drop completely, while those players who are good get to enjoy feeling even more godlike. It just seems like Bungie have decided to favour one portion of their player base over the other. Again.

Just let the sweats suffer

129 RepliesIts completely fair, your incompetence doesnt entitle you to special, seperate treatment in casual modes.

*ahem* Yes, I believe this is what the kids call a Get Good moment, yes, quite.

2 RepliesEhy lastbreathe =) Unfortunately, this is nothing new. In the past Bungie did the same thing swapping from CBMM to SBMM and also at that time they were many complains like your for long queque, sweaty matches ecc. CBMM and SBMM have both pros and cons, which is better it only depends from a player point of view. It seems that Bungie can't bring both MM systems in the game and they simply swamp from one to another after a certain time period, but this is just my theory. I understand that having sweaty matches against players that are stronger then you can be really frustrating. Since that is unlikely that Bungie is going to change this very soon, you might try to focus on how make your experience less frustrating for you. For example, if you're not a dedicated PvP player, try to go inside the Crucible only for those things you need. If you want to complete the Weekly Bounties of Shaxx, just go for those 3-4 matches at week, maybe one match per day even. If you want to complete some Catalyst, maybe wait for the best Mode to rotate. If instead PvP is one of the Main Activity you enjoy, than don't let this situation to ruins it. Go in the Crucible light hearted and try to do your best. Enjoy simply playing your strats, using your favorite loadout, or maybe try something new. After all, if you lose because the system put against you some PvP God, you can't do much and this isn't your fault. You're probably going to lose, but who cares? Simply try to enjoy the fight as you can. If this situation is really too much frustrating for you, then, maybe a break could be a solution, but only if you feel so. Don't let other people mean replies to kick you out from your hobby. You didn't soimply paid for this game: you decided to dedicate your time to it, which is much more important. I hope this may help you somehow. Wish you to have a better experience in the future.

Didn’t realise only casuals called it deathmatch.
