SMM OFF is unfair
Why can’t people play against people of their own skill level. why is it that they need to have high KD or they complain and leave the game ?
It’s the same at the lower end of the spectrum, casuals are playing against casuals and sweating in their on way, as they get better they get to play better people, and so on eventually having to sweat in every match as they have aquire great skill....
Instead now, you have 2 people having a big old time with a 10.0 kD while the guy in the bottom doesn’t even know what hit him. and forget about using anything but Metta, you’ll be met with the sweatiest players farming their KD.
At the end the casuals will migrate and the sweats will end up playing each other anyway...
we have already seen this story play out.

As destiny population drops matchmaking by skill becomes too long and connection issues more extreme the only fix they have is cbmm

1 ReplyPersonally I do think there should be a sort of mix of sbmm and cbmm. Since sbmm was turned off, most of my games have been lag free, which has been nice. I haven’t seen any foreign clans in my lobby with teleporting players. It’s been refreshing. I have also been playing pretty well, so in general, I have been having fun. However, most of my games have people with 25-35 kills average on both teams. That isn’t normal for my games. Then the guys at the bottom with 1-5 kills. How can that be fun for them? Being farmed all game can’t be a joy. Why would they continue to play? Bungie needs to find a middle ground. But as history has shown me, middle ground is not something they do remotely well.

Or make the entirety of crucible better for everyone while shortening queue time, improving connections, allowing for off meta builds, can group with friends of different skill levels, making SBMM playlists less sweaty by moving some of the playerbase to 6v6s, having streamer/content makers come back to Destiny to extend the lifespan of the game... Yeah rough choice.

If they kept skill based matchmaking, then you'd be sat in Orbit for 20 minutes waiting for a game. Their solution, so you can actually play a match without waiting forever, is to make it connection based. Would you sooner play against sweaty flawless scrubs occasionally, or not play at all because you angrily leave matchmaking after waiting 15 minutes for 12 people at your 'skill' to join?

2 RepliesBecause some people have WiFi McDonald’s connection and exploit it. Then there’s adults who have hard wired FiOS connection that pay a boat load of money for perfectly clear signals. Connection is the way to go. I don’t want lag.

I suggest you follow me and others over to the freelance comp list that is still SBMM where we can play casually again. Just turn off the chat so you don't have to see or hear the screeming of the poor people actually trying to play comp...
