Do NOT fall for the Bungie marketing hype
I’ve been playing Bungie games since Halo CE and one thing they’ve always been great at is marketing and building slick campaigns to get us all hyped for whatever they’re about to ship.
I’ve fallen for this myself enough times but I’d urge each of you to hold back handing over your hard earned money until we’ve seen whey it’s about and how good it is.
Shadowkeep was given lots of hype but personally I felt it was seriously lacking and the seasons since absolutely terrible. They say all the right things, but the product quality is just not there and if you keep handing over money for this garbage; it will NEVER get better.
Obviously it’s everyone’s individual choice to make but please think carefully - as a business, your money is the key thing they care about.
EDIT: to the people saying ‘I’m going to buy it anyway’ - if you’re genuinely enjoying the game still then by all means, go for it, that’s great.
But if you’re just doing it as a habit, because ‘you’re a Destiny player’ consider you’re essentially encouraging this low effort, poorly thought out game state we find ourselves in now.
If you don’t pay, then maybe, just maybe, Bungie will actually listen to what players want and the game we love won’t become this glorified mobile, throwing balls at various target game we have now.

5 RepliesThe only argument I don't get at times like these on the forums is, "stop playing it if you don't like it". Come on folks!! IF..like me , you have been with this game since D1, you want to see it do well. You want the story etc to continue. As much as I agree with some that the last season was somewhat , lacklustre in gameplay content, the story moved along . I find it hard not to buy the next season, including next year even , as I want to see where it's going story wise. For me to just "stop playing" would be like tearing out the last page of a whodunnit novel and never knowing what happened.

1 ReplyI’m hoping history repeats itself. When Bungie has basically a whole year of completely -blam!-ing up and community morale is at an all time low the fall expansion has always been very good. But this time I’m skeptical because of COVID-19 and now that Bungie is self publishing.

Just look at the comments. The game will [i][b]never[/b][/i] change, there are enough people supporting Bungie whatever they do. It will only get worse, until Luke "Scarab Lobotomite" Smith finally runs it into the ground so they don't have to spend money on it. The sole reason Destiny still exists, is to milk the -blam!-ing ignorant slaves who still buy into this shit season after season, DLC after DLC, and fork out 40$+ just on Eververse items like the -blam!-ing standardless idiots they are. The entire Bungie team is working on the chinese game for their chinese overlords, and Lucky "My wife's boyfriend won't let me play Switch after 8 P.M" Luke will be the happiest once they don't have to sink even a cent into Destiny anymore.

But what I want will probably never happen. I want the story to be told within the game. It will COMPLETE the game. The grimoire stuff is a pain in the ass. And a lazy way to implement story. The writers don’t get the credit they deserve. They’re doing a phenomenal job. I’m okay with 2 big releases a year if they could include story based campaigns.

I learned my lesson pre ordering or listening to bungie hype for d2 in destiny 1 we knew content drop would be good and it was. Bungie includes special items for pre orders for a reason

They literally have no hype at least for me they don't have any sort of build up or suspense that I care about in any capacity to make me hyped from utter silence and 2 vague videos that don't tell us -blam!- all except "btw you should watch our stream on the 9th we promise we have good things ;)"
