It automatically makes all loot I get less special knowing it will soon become useless.

5 RepliesHonestly. Once season 11 drops, I’m ONLY grinding the story and then im going to stop playing again. I have No reason to have my time and energy invested into something which becomes obsolete when the expansion arrives in Fall. Which is basically 3-4 months away. Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for the expansion and that I will grind a lot bc it’s basically a new game. This isn’t anything new in the Destiny universe. Bungie always try’s to save this game bc there’s always issues with this game.
-
1 ReplyYup. Going to get to max power level do all the activities and not really care about getting any legendary gear since it won’t matter anyway.
-
Yup! I have zero desire to grind items that will be useless by force. I want to use whatever item i want in whatever game mode i want. The time i invested into grinding all these items has been disrespected to the highest degree. Nothing feels rewarding anymore, even this "new/old" shotgun doesnt feel rewarding. I do not want to be forced to regrind the same god rolled item just so its upto level, nope i already have it, so let me use it for as long as i want and i will decide if i want to move on to a next item or not. Dont force it onto me.

19 RepliesIs it just me or do you all whine too much that you might actually have to level up and masterwork new gear. If you want to keep your current gear just stay in the crucible and stop your incessant whining. “Don’t make me masterwork new gear or guns, I never want to have to do anything new”...........
-
Put pinnacle weapons and exceedingly powerful guns back into the game and I really don’t mind sunsetting. It is true that you will never use new things for endgame activities if the old aren’t left behind. Revoker, if not nerfed or reworked, will run the Kinetic slot until this games servers are shutdown. With sunsetting on the horizon (no pun intended) we need like 9,999 vault space. I know I won’t be deleting some near and dear weapons to me even if they can’t be used in the future for endgame. I honestly barely cut it with 500 now because I have some weapons to see if the meta shifts in a direction. So with sunsetting I want this: -9,999 vault space -Pinnacle weapons return -Adept Trials weapons (since their intrinsic perk won’t be used a year later, maybe a rotation of different intrinsic perks each year?) -Larger caps on infusion items (like 99 ascendant shards, 999 prisms, etc) -Nothing to do with sunsetting but larger inventory in general would be great That’s about my main points in order for me to be completely fine with sunsetting cause I see it as a “healthy” change for players to get used to. They a year later some of those old weapons can return to mix in with the meta that we will have a year later
-
2 RepliesI mean, for people like me who like variety in meta weapons, I think loot value stays the same because I'm not going to use the same weapon forever, I don't even think I'll use it for the 6 months - a year before it's sunset.
-
Im trying to chase the loot, but Bungle isnt allowing me to do so.................
-
6 RepliesI will tell you what makes a gun feel less special. Using it OVER AND OVER AND OVER again because it is too good to use something else.
looking at you mountaintop / izzy
sunsetting may make guns obsolete, but at least i have a reason to not use the same thing and i will have to get creative in order to succeed.
-
On the contrary, I like when things change and you need to adapt. It keeps them fresh. That's personal of course. Like, it's reassuring to know the guns won't be the same old ones in one year, right?
-
Well all I can say is, go get the free raid chest from last wish, raid gear won't be sunsetted I don't think.
-
Kinda I was finishing the revoker recluse and Luna's quest because I quit playing awhile ago now I just don't care because those are getting sunset in my opinion pinnacle weapons like that should move forward
-
I lost my incentive to play let alone start an in game activity
-
7 RepliesNo, plain and simple. Like any other MMO weapon/armor sunsetting happens. Let us look at WoW, every raiding tier or PvP season you have to acquire new gear that is better as you get stronger. Ultimately after the 2 year expansion everything becomes obsolete and you start over. People have been following that model for 15 years+ with success, it works and it will continue to work in other games as well.

I stopped playing a couple weeks ago. Can’t seem to find the drive to grind anymore for nothing. Won’t lie; I’m a Vanilla D1 Guardian and I’m burnt out.... finally burnt out.
-
Yeah I don't see much point to it. Especially because it's going to rotate so fast. It's just grind up to around light level, play some of of the content, done, I won't much care about any gun, because why would I, it's just going to become obsolete, making it all basically worthless except for very short periods of time. I don't play a game to get things that feel worthless. When it goes in, I'm out. Hopefully it doesn't. Definitely won't be buying any further expansions until I see whether it does go in. It's rich this is their idea to fix the game rather than they ton of other stuff people ask for, like matchmaking for more activities for example (like the freaking towers, or escalation protocol, no lets load the map many times instead).
-
3 RepliesThe issue is that grinding for the best rolls and stats takes literally months. Then, once you finally get the gear you want, you only have two weeks to use it cause it’s being sunset
-
Content, new adventures, new classes abilities, strikes, pvp modes, dungeons and the likes are my incentive. That’s why I’m long gone. Waiting for something interesting to come back. Nothing on the horizon though.
-
1 ReplyYes. I mostly play this game to collect stuff, level it up and try different guns depending on my mood. Knowing that my gear won’t be able to come along with me or that they’ll rerelease it and make me grind for it again just killed my enthusiasm about playing the game in general.
-
Yup, I want to play but I don't have the drive anymore.
-
Its not like sunsetting will only hapen once either, 1 year later after every season we get sunsetted gear. There are 4 seasons to a year so we will get 4 sunsets per year and it wont stop happening. This will probably be why I will stop playing the game the way I do, if I keep playing.

Edited by Mister O: 5/18/2020 9:54:25 PMNo denying it, Destiny has lost its sparkle for me...I never thought I'd be in this position. Never have I played a loot em up where 90% of the gear is so shite that the 10% are actually usable look OP as fk. And never in all my days gaming have I witnessed a development team that is so at war with their playerbase...oh yes they give it the big one saying that they listen and they love us but while they are saying that they are taking stuff out of the loot pool and locking it behind a paywall. I have loved Destiny since the first time I spun it up in the D1 beta days, and to see the current game in this state makes me sad. Imagine how fkn awesome Destiny would be if all of the loot was tied to activities, it would be the greatest of all time, but unfortunately..miCr0Tra5aC7iOn5

2 RepliesYes and No. It will be a good thing for light enabled PvP like IB and Trials, I'd like to see new weapons to refresh the stale meta and get rid of cheap OHK (looking at you Jotunn) For PvE, if they do it right it could be a good thing. I'd rather see an OP gun vaulted due to light level rather than it being nerfed. If White Nail were in it's original state, I might enjoy going back to previous activities like Zero Hour or even forges to use it
-
They need to call it a weapon leveling system and stop bringing old content forward. That way as you get the best weapons from different content thats considered older it'll push you towards the newer content. Except thats not how Destiny works, as they give all new players the newest and best gear to be competitive in the newest activities, which does not make much sense.
-
1 ReplyThis is the greater issue with sunsetting. In a game with fun, engaging and steady content...real content...it wouldn't be such an issue. But because we know the content isn't and won't be there in the future, it takes all the sails out of our desire to play.

9 RepliesD1Y1 player here and this season is the first destiny expansion I refused to purchase. I've been through this twice and I will not in any way support this stupid and naive business plan again. I say business plan bc this is not about guns or power creep. It's about cutting the amount of man hours spent on this game. They want to release minimal new weapons and force you to use them out of necessity instead of showing creativity and effort. This season and this action plan is an insult to destiny players.
