Oh no my weapons power is capped and I don't want cool new weapons to chase after

I get people like using a set of favorite weapons all the time. But eventually a time will come when you just have to accept the fact that getting new things isn't all negatives. It sucks I know everyone likes spare rations or not forgotten or whatever you want to use, but isn't the point of earning new weapons and armor to actually use it? What's the point in earning new gear and guns if I'm always going to default back to the old stuff I constantly use anyway? If we spend too much time complaining about our old stuff how are we ever gonna move on to the new stuff? I know it's a tough pill to swallow for some, but there comes a time when you have to move past these things.

  • I think it's just a ploy to give us crappy weapons and make us have to use them. Otherwise they would have to make new weapons better which is hard.

    • Who cares if nobody migrates to the new stuff as long as your playerbase keeps buying content? The real threat to Bungie’s long term survival is the erosion of goodwill.

    • For once I actually agree with a very unpopular opinion. I'm tired of feeling the need to use my best guns (*cough, Spare Rations*)instead of something I want to use, purely because of how good it is. Everyone is complaining because they've found a niche weapon where they can dominate, and don't want to have to work to find a new one every 7 months. Also, seriously. It's 7 months at a time. More than half of a year. I usually find something new and better before that time anyways.

I don't think you understand what the cap actually means. Remember that RNG can take months to give you the roll you want. By the time you get it, the gun can likely be close to its expiration date. So... as you get into a gun's life cycle, what's the point of hunting for a good roll if it's just going to expire soon? Why is there even a mechanic that can defeat the interest of grinding for good guns... in a looter shooter?
