Bastion, WTH bungie
Naw, this has nothing to do with the quest, it has everything to do with the weapon. The gun's Exotic perk is Garbage, it's a Charged base SHOTGUN that can't even CRIT. The hell bungie, Why can't it CRIT, it would be actually GOOD if it could. The first Kentic Fusion Rifle and it's just flat garbage.

Doesn't need to crit. It damages through elemental shields. In PvP it is very consistent within 16 meters. It's a good, solid exotic... not great or over-powered. I'd say it falls in the sweet spot.

Bastion IS bad, especially on PC. It's like a shotgun with a charge time. I'd rather use shotgun in that case.

It’s great logic, it’s like when they make a new exotic and people complain about them not bringing back a D1 exotic, but when they bring back a D1 exotic it’s just recycled content, or people expecting something as big as House of Wolves for a $10 season

Exotics only serve one purpose in the game now. New exotics mean new ornaments that Tess can sell.

It should have been left in the unmarked grave for how bad it is. Ok, now we got the choice insults for the gun out of the way the reasons why. It operates like a shotgun, but has less pellets thus making a weapon such as perfect paradox infinitely better in the PvE arena. For PvP, fusion rifles shine when used as kiting or bait and switch weapons the golden example of this is Erentil FR4. You lead the person, pre-charge then pop out and end their existence. Bastion's Range drop off is to sever to support this play style. Since the gun has a charge time you cant use it re-actively like a shotgun, thus removing its other possible play style. I am not a great pvp player though so maybe I was just using it in the wrong fashion. But it feels like a mega trash gun, and how it ever developed a lore reputation of killing guardians is beyond me. EDIT: Incase people are unaware, as the person was below. An erentil has a shorter charge time and longer range if you have a optimal/god roll.

Actually Kackis was doing some testing and noticed that it does crit, just not as much as as a normal weapon. It also has more range than a shotgun and each pellet deals more damage. Personally I just wish bullets that pierced elemental sheilds delt bonus damage or that it could peirce barriers

You get 3 bullets per one shot which is the only good thing about it. There’s some funky recoil though

You can’t be serious? Every time I pop my super bow I get one hit killed with it. It shuts supers do n in one hit.

Yeah, it's a mega weird weapon. Classified as a fusion which can't crit, yet it's literally a shotgun. If I were to use a shotgun, I wouldn't pick one that has a charge time. It's just a bad shotty. And doesn't play like a fusion at all. Weird. It could've just been a full auto slug shotty with 7 slugs. Would've been a monster.

1 ReplyI'mma be honest, I do actually feel like it should crit. It packs quite a punch, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't have [i]quite[/i] enough oomph imo. The damage to shields is meh, as expected of a kinetic, but the important thing is the piercing damage... which is also meh. So against shielded targets, it's a hard meh. You'd expect in that case that it'd be fine against a non-shielded target, such as an Ogre, but it's still just... meh. There are legendary fusions in the game that do the same job better, so why bother? It's basically only useful against weak majors, but even my melee does a fine job against those. I have yet to try it out in PvP, though, so I can't say much on that front. For all I know, it's taken our whole meta by storm.
