Hyper Rare Shaders
Bungie, give us hyper rare shaders that can drop on weapons/armor.
Make them not tied to any activity, rather just have them be extremely rare...Think of it in terms of shiny hunting in pokemon.
Its just a nice chase to do when we are bored, just go kill shit to have a 1 in 4000 chance to find a hyper rare shader to drop on a weapon from a legendary engram. Destiny need to use their RNG mechanics more. Having weapons and shaders tied to an activity is cool but id like to have something that can drop from any source. Something to mindlessly grind for...not something i need to be max power and have 6 friends to get.

Well, if that happens, it will drop on the god/currated roll of the weapon you wanted. The only catch is that the shader looks horrible on that gun but fantastic one everything else. So, keep the gun but hate the look/lose the shader OR get the shader but lose the god roll and never get it again.

I spent 3 years trying to get Arctic Proxy in D1. Pretty sure it was thousands of cryptarch levels. No thanks. I used it for like 2 weeks before the game died and all my friends moved on.

I was very happy when I saw that one of the raid shaders was locked behind flawless. Sadly it’s not the best looking shader.

1 ReplyPrime pallet is that way. It's only available if you got a curated weapon and dismantled it. Lunar halcyon is another difficult shader since you cant die in a master nightmare hunt.

5 RepliesWhy? To extend the already useless grind. Instead of something fun to grind for you think grinding for a rare shader will be fun (by the way you have to grind for at least five of the shaders in order to put on all armour pieces, doesn’t sound like fun or a priority for bungie”

Yeah that would be cool. Can add other things as well like ships, sparrows, transmat effects, etc. On a side note I really like the Whisper Heroic ship.

Over the summer I played nearly 70 hours a week. ( I took the summer off from working) I went entire weeks without a shiny. During ultra bonus weeks when shinys were boosted I felt rewarded for my time and played nearly 80 hours during those weeks getting a minimum of 2 shinies a day. It just doesn’t forecast long term for the majority. I hardly play anymore after going 3 weeks still playing 40 hours a week and walked at least a 100 km a week. (No not a spoofer legitimate distance) and got absolutely nothing I have lost interest. So what you are suggesting only appeals to a very very very small percentage. But that does seem to be bungies current motto......but also you are comparing apples to avocados pogo has 250,000,000 active daily players.......
