Go for the cold fusion medals. Those give the most progress and are easier to get.

So, just an FYI that I had to find out the hard way. Not all medals count. The only medals that count are "weapon medals", nothing else. Go to Triumphs/Crucible/Medals/Weapon Mastery. Only the medals obtainable from that tab count towards the objective. P.S.- Bungie really needs to do a better job explaining their quest objectives. I remember in D1 there was a "Details" option for quests. P.S.S.- Momentum Control was excellent for weapon medals, which someone hilariously dubbed "Lions Vs. Rabbits" due to the sheer amount of Fighting Lions and Jade Rabbits people were using to get Mountaintop and Randy's.

Enemies defeated means that you got the scout rifle final blows? Lower left corner of the screen says your name with a scout rifle?

Head into Momentum with a good scout. I got my Jade Rabbit Masterwork done (finally) and 45% of my bounty kills done just last night. And I hadn't started either of them before doing that. Well worth it. Side note: I suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck in crucible and still managed to get that much done.
