Authorities Horrified At Woman Who Killed Baby With Meth Instead Of Traditional Brain-Sucking Device

This is a thing that happened. She literally has a murder charge because she used the wrong "tool" to end the life of her baby.
Late term abortion would have been fine. "Normal" abortion would have been fine.
Apparently whether or not abortion is murder simply depends on how the life is ended.

During the first trimester of the pregnancy, the baby is still a developing clump of cells. That's it. [u]Cells[/u]. She has every right to get rid of it. After that, abortion shouldn't be legal to use. Give the woman time to discover she's with child and to think over whether she wants it or not. If she doesn't, then she has a right to get rid of it, [i]especially[/i] if the child came about through assualt. Women aren't only there to bear children. They have their own lives, and if the unborn child is life-threatening, she has every right to get rid of it to save herself.

Alright now onto numbers. This crazy -blam!- spent between $6,875 to $22,000 on meth the whole pregnancy. Meanwhile she could’ve easily spent only $350-$950 on an abortion. She really was an idiot.]

Once you start giving fetuses "rights"...this is precisely the kind of ethical, moral and legal quagmire you create. What next? Charging women with Child Endangerment and Negligent Homicide if they get into an at-fault car accident and miscarry? Or if they just weren't wearing their seatbelt? There is no rationally defensible endpoint to this slippery slope towards A Handmaid's Tale...which is why all parties need to back off.

Is it ok to kill the sheep with a bolt gun that instantly kills it with little to no gore? Yes. It is. Is it ok to kill the Sheep by beating it with a stick until it stops moving? No, that's not really considered ok. This is the same distinction, using meth to kill the baby is an inhumane way to stop the pregnancy, an abortion is more civilized. Another example In some places assisted suicide is legal. Will you have some random guy assist in your suicide? No. You would go to a place where professionals will assist you.

I’m not sure what political belief I hold (I think it’s more left than right), but I really do not think that abortion or killing babies is putting the countries best interests first. It honestly sucks that this is a thing that legitimately has to be debated.
