I am curious to see what the opinions are of the forum as to the reason to move back the launch date...

1 ReplyI hope we still get a Halloween event.
-
13 RepliesWhat about the people who took time off work??
-
1 ReplyIt’s the responsible and transparent thing to do. Bungie needs an extra two weeks, I’m fine with that. October seems to fit the theme a lot more anyway 👻

Edited by BetweenMyself: 8/1/2019 6:27:53 PMI always appreciate when a game company is willing to push back the release date for a game/expansion due to quality concerns. Too many companies release blatantly unfinished, buggy games hoping they can keep enough early adopters playing until they get the game in working order and those players can tell everyone how much better the it has gotten since launch. Extending the Age of Triumphs by three weeks was a good decision in that it might help sustain player retention a bit through the new release date. Announcing a hard date for the pushed back release is a necessity to keep those who preordered from freaking out and demanding refunds, but announcing the day they’re dropping the new raid a full two months out kinda seems like gilding the lily at this point. While projecting confidence can help shore up the player base over the extra couple of weeks, displaying overconfidence could have the opposite effect... Hopefully they can walk the line without falling off. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

2 RepliesIt's a good thing, means it will be better polished and Bungie staff can have good work/life balance
-
3 RepliesAlso, I love how they DON’T announce it on these forums YET again.
-
1 ReplyI’m glad. There’s plenty of crap to do until then. If Bungie is wise they’ll extend Solstice.
-
2 RepliesBungie fears Borderlands 3

The real news that should make the toxic forum users happy is that the world's first is on a weekend this time, not a week day. They'll find something else to complain about though, I'm sure.

September 13th :)

Edited by Whopping Dingers: 8/1/2019 7:08:13 PMIt is what it is.

2 RepliesA delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad. -Shigeru Miyamoto Plus it gets it out of the launch window of Borderlands 3 and Monster Hunter.
-
Its only 2 weeks. No big deal.
-
6 RepliesSurprising, considering it was going to fail hard coming up against MHW Iceborne and Borderlands 3....
I am curious to see what the opinions are of the forum as to the reason to move back the launch date...
Shit code vein was delayed an entire year and I was bummed. Two weeks is nothing
-
This is ok since I haven’t made a preorder decision.

It always sucks when a title that you’re looking forward to is delayed but in the grand scheme of things it’s the best possible option. Games are constantly rushed out to store shelves to meet publisher deadlines and when that happens we’re almost always left with half baked products. Bungie’s split from Activision means that they can now take the time to truly fine tune and polish things if they deem it necessary and that’s a very good thing. Plus it gives people more time to finish their Triumphs and it also gives people an extra Iron Banner to finish their armour quests if they so choose. At the end of the day it’s not an extremely long delay and if it means that Shadowkeep will be better for it then that’s ok in my books.

2 RepliesEdited by lCertifiedl: 8/1/2019 5:48:36 PMGrabs pop corn and waits for the complaining to arrive 😂 I'd rather the delay it and nail it then release a buggy experience.
-
2 RepliesBetter to delay than release something buggy. Gotta remember they're going at it alone this time, they have to get it perfect
-
Sales numbers are down, players might be buying BL3 over Shadowkeep. Gives Bungie more time for players to get the dlc and the numbers go up. Classic business practice.
-
Better be for adding trials or they can -blam!- off
