Complete Gambit or Crucible Matches.
As a PvE centric player I had a bit of chuckle to myself when I realized I would rather complete Crucible matches than Gambit.
Edit/addition: I would like to point out my snark was more of critique of gambit than having do quest steps involving pvp. I knew there would be quest steps involving pvp/gambit.
Edit/addition redux: obligatory comment about trending on the front page.

3 RepliesGambit is a horrible game mode.i got dredgen by mistake grinding for a good bygons
-
37 RepliesI’m so sick of them putting pvp in every quest regardless of the state of pvp.
-
4 RepliesI wish this event was focused more squarely on the EAZ content which is new and pretty fun in my opinion. “Here, we made this cool new game mode! Now go play Crucible forever!”
-
2 RepliesThey're both so terrible because of the imbalance in the game though.
-
6 RepliesI just quitted the game, that solstice thing is dumb-nonsense-cashgrab-grind-shit, last week saw 1 player with 2018 solstice armor and it was nothing special once I inspected it, so seeing the grind required and how fast your hard earned gear become useless I decide to stop wasting time here and stat playing something else, I'll see how the game turns out in a year maybe two in the hopes they at least fix the -blam!-ing game physics

34 RepliesEdited by MeTT: 7/31/2019 4:22:06 PMThe blue challenges are absolute cancer. 10 Gambit matches, 200 arc super final blows in the crucible, etc. Who TF wants to do that? Edit: Checked again to make sure, it is in fact 200 arc super final blows on guardians, either in the crucible or Gambit. Hunters and Titans don't have any challenges that even come close to being this long and grindy. This is some fat bullsh*t

Gambit is horrendous. Even if you do the 10 matches for the green set, it spits you right back into Gambit for the blue set, 10 more matches, and this time with no choice to do something else. I'm just practically AFKing the matches with my fireteam at this point. Who cares about winning, when you just want to get out of the playlist?

7 RepliesI have two characters that I play the Titan and a hunter. I finished the green set on my Titan today it wasn't that bad, it wasn't fun, but it wasn't bad. Then I meditated in front of the statues and received my blue set.... No...just no. I'm not going to do all that. I realize that we have a month but I'm lucky if I enter The Crucible twice in a month let alone The Crucible and Gambit no thank you. The only time I play PVP really in this game is Mayhem or iron Banner. And even then it's still just a toxic trash heap.

Truth in gambit.Making golden gun, primary, heavy, and sniper skills useless in an entire game mode.

30 RepliesEdited by nonchalantone: 7/31/2019 11:06:09 AMIt's that damn Truth rocket launcher... Some lady said "ain't that the Truth" the other day while I was at the store, and I ducked for cover..... Made me clutch my groceries like they were motes!!

Edited by Starfall Shadow: 8/1/2019 9:08:08 AMI'm already suffering through Gambit to get the 21% delirium anyways, and the envoy and primevil kills only count if you get the killing blow and even then they count for SO LITTLE %! Honestly I won't even notice 10 gambit matches anymore.
-
Then you get to the blue gear and realise you still have to play 10 gambit matches.. Ffs 😂
-
Wait until u get blue gear lol
-
Crucible is fun, but man gambit just sucks. Whats with when you play gambit youre guns suddenly make almost no damage at all. Its just so frustrating.
-
1 ReplyStill better than last year
-
I'm only going to complete one set for the Title. It's stupid how the reward for completing all three sets is a Legendary Sparrow, reused from the first game. At least last year's event gave us an Exotic Ship with a unique design.

Green gear is easy. Wait till you get to the blue gear. My god gambit is such a pain

8 RepliesOkay so there's something that a lot of people don't realize about the Solstice quests, and I feel like its very important to share this: the Solstice is open to all Destiny 2 players. This was pointed out by Paul Tassi in a Forbes article he wrote to review the event, and he views it as one of the downfalls for the design of the quest. Why does this matter? Well, as Tassi said, it is open to everyone...this includes those who don't own the annual pass. Why is that significant? Well, most of the game's PvE activities are locked behind the annual pass. This includes the Blind Well, Raids, Forges, Reckoning, and Menagerie, as well as Gambit Prime. If they started incorporating all of these modes as alternatives to Crucible or Gambit, it would lock those players out of the quest for the armor. This left them with a fairly bland state of activities, which is why the quest is so grindy and repetitive. In order to provide PvE and PvP options while also keeping the event open to all players, it would consist of even more mind-numbing tasks. Let me put it this way: your "PvE" alternative would be to run strikes, lost sectors, adventures, story missions, and pub events....and thats it. In order to make it an adequate challenge that fulfills the needs of a month-long event, we'd probably be seeing at least 30-50 of each of these for a full set of gear, given the decrease in difficulty from PvP to PvE. That wouldn't be fun for anyone, and would make the quest worse all around--you'd either "play a mode you don't like", or deal with a grind that makes the Izanami Forge's unlock quest look like an Eververse bounty. I feel like its very important that players understand this, yet I haven't seen a single person on this forum mention it. The argument is that you're excluding players that don't want to play certain game modes, when in reality the solution would exclude players without the Annual Pass (or lead to the worst quest in Destiny's history). This is just some food for thought, and I hope it gives some players a new perspective on the game.

1 ReplySad but Bungo finally burned me to the ground with this repetitive grind. Cant even do gunsmith for cores. Preordered Shadowkeep, but at this moment cant stand this game anymore. The way they go, is not for me.
-
Gambit is beyond disgusting now. Truth, Dawnblade, endless heavy. I have never hated anything in videogames more.

Edited by Corrick II: 7/31/2019 11:41:24 PMSame. Luckily I was needing Paradox Amps to complete the prophecy weapons so I just settled in for the PvP grind. It actually wasn’t too bad, managed to get some decent plays and did ok all things considered. Gambit is just... ugh...

Bungie staff laughs* “Our little hamsters cannot come out of the wheels.” This, even as they take their dream vacations this very month...lol

10 RepliesGambit is a nightmare with these 0 IQ players.
-
2 Replies10 matches to me isn’t that awful....25 patrols on titan is way more boring.Im knocking out my 75 guardian kills just from invading.
-
Better to do Crucible anyway, one of the masterwork objectives is to reset your valor rank. I was excited to the the solstice of heroes quests til I found that out. I hate crucible but can tolerate it in bursts, but that is way too much for me.

1 ReplyI think my beefs with this event is that the Year 2 solstice focusses the grind on year 1 vanilla content. Year 2 solstice should be focussing on stuff like the blind well, forges, gambit and menagerie.
