Bungie, timers on events like Whisper or Zero Hour ruin the experience. I can understand heroic being timed, but not the normal mode...

3 RepliesThe Timer is straight garbage.

13 RepliesHmm. I don't agree with this at all. It is supposed to be a challenge. You try you fail, you try again, you make some progress, you try again. Eventually, if you have some patience, you get a great reward. Isn't that what makes a game good? Getting good rewards for the effort you put in? If it was easy, everyone would have the weapon and then people would be complaining that it is the new meta. Probably the same people who are complaining about timers. Probably the same people that complained about getting Outbreak Prime in D1. Look at the mess Destiny 2 was at launch when Bungie took onboard feedback that the best weapons were too hard to get. A watered down pile of garbage that was done with after two months tops. If you don't want the challenge, then don't have the weapon. If you do want the weapon, then suck it up and persevere.

120 RepliesI miss timed nightfalls.. yall already ruined that for the rest of us. Now they are ridiculously easy.... like everything else in PvE..... a little challenge never hurt anyone.
-
How about instead of hiding in the back with a scout and sniper just chipping away at enemies from afar, try another strategy. Keep practicing and the timer won’t even be of notice.
-
2 RepliesAnd what suck is I think bungie is patching the cheese to remove the timer
-
2 RepliesNot having a timer would ruin the experience

Git gud

If a casual subpar player as myself can go at it, try after try after unforgiving try and beat the mission, you can too. We got it down after what seemed like he 20th try, with 1:34 left. So suck it up butter cup.

Come on. Really Look for both missions I just went in by myself and did the jumping puzzles as I am shit at them. I got comfortable, then good, then excelled. Now I’m ready to LFG and won’t be a third wheel. Just practice and it’s easily done with plenty of time. I was a hinderance because I’m only 680 but still held my own.

2 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 5/10/2019 1:22:35 AMThey really do suck. Don't care who saids otherwise.

Edited by ApocThe-Strange1: 5/10/2019 9:49:55 PMNo. It doesn't, it will only magnifie the feeling of accomplishment! Now get in there and practice those jumps!
-
Okay then you should only get the schematic on normal and get the exotic on heroic TIMED!! Earn that gun 😂
-
Edited by ItMeSoul: 5/13/2019 1:23:53 AMIf there wasn't a timer, it would be to easy and be a handout. At that point it was just given and you did nothing to actually earn it. Timers add some challenge. Stop complaining and asking for Bungie to dumb things WAY down for you. Looking at your characters, you're 700. You should have no issue unless you're just bad.
-
I wouldn't say that, when you start thinking about it a lot of things in the game run on timers you just don't realize it. You know like AI behavior. It's how it is done is the problem. Given what I've read, you're racing the fallen. So just make the time out punishment an increased difficulty due to the amount and kinds of fallen reinforcement. Fast enough players don't have to bother, players that like to turtle get to suffer and finish it. Two things to boast about.

1 ReplyI find the normal mode fair with its timer. It’s not hard or ruining the experience, just not stupidly easy.
-
They only ruin it if you're bad. *Curb your enthusiasm theme*
-
I like the timers it makes it feel more rewarding
-
I agree with the opinion on timers, but the thing is, timers are the only difficulty these missions have, take it away and it would be too easy, it would have to be either bullet sponges or immunity phases (bungie loves this last one) and these would be as cheep as timers, they would need the difficulty to be based on mechanics and well... its far easier to just slap a timer than to do any of that. I despise speed runs as a difficulty setting, but i kind of understand why they are there.
-
3 RepliesAgree. Timers are the worst thing bungie has ever done. I still don’t have the whisper.
-
Timers are stupid for these missions, unless there's a bomb needing to be disarmed.
-
3 RepliesHow the timer could’ve worked is that you had infinite time to finish the mission, but you’d only get the rewards if you completed it within 20 minutes
-
Cheese it and you’ll have all the time you need.
i would feel sorry of the sap that’s in orbit pushing buttons tho.
It is all in practice man. Watch videos and go in prepared. I did it first try last night with a lfg team and no mics. I think we finished with 40 seconds left. Datto's video helped out a lot and going in solo to practice works as well. I think timers on events like this are fantastic. They bring you to the edge of your seat and when you finally get the weapon, it is a great feeling. Just keep trying.

Uh oh..here we go 😂

9 RepliesSo a boss with no mechanics No darkness zone Not a bullet sponge No timer Would be a challenge in any way? May as well just have outbreak sitting at your postmaster when you log in. Fully masterworked of course
-
Nah son. Amazing guns should be hard to get. It makes getting it more significant. And I say this as someone who can't solo either mission.
