I'm not convinced Bungie has played their own game since September.
-
Playtests occur daily, and many play at home in the evenings as a hobby.
-
"Play testing is difficult, especially from our safe spaces, besides, we're too busy not listening" ~Bungie
-
1 ReplyNah, it's just not public play testing. But they play with them selves constantly.
-
3 RepliesLol, what do you think you are for? they have all the playtesters they need and when the streamers don't like something they change it. See, working as intended.
-
How it basically goes-> >releases game mechanic/content without the use of any public test environment (beta) >game mechanic is broken/buggy/an un-enjoyable experience >thousands of players give feedback on forums on how mechanic/content is unenjoyable or broken >"we will continue to share that feedback with the team." -bungo >2 years later - no news/changes/removals/additions to any features to make them any more enjoyable
-
2 RepliesBungie do what they want, when the want. Oh, and they listen to streamers only. Everyone else can get -blam!-ed in the ass. If a streamers says “it’s broke” bungie will need the fu k outa it. *Novawarp.
-
They do, BUT! If they playtest, they give themself endless materials, gear and everything else. So they never see how broken their economy is. My collection of Baryon Boughs proves that ^^

4 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 3/19/2019 6:06:24 AMThey can't possibly play test. They test as much as they can in an hr and move on to the next thing, ship it to us to play test and "fix" errors months later. Lbs we are the play test group. Yes we paid $60+ to play test. I'm really getting sick of this live serviced game model bs. The game never ship complete/half baked, you are given a fraction of what you paid for, micro store is fully functional day one and if there's a bug there it's fixed within hrs but the overall game stays broken for months, etc. It's not just bungie either. Wish devs would go back to the old ways but.... won't.
-
7 RepliesThey don't have any characters high enough to test anything. TBH I don't even think they play destiny, they know it's shit
-
3 RepliesSince September? Dude, they've launched an update on D1 that, literally, broke ALL health regen perks of the game, be it weapon or ability. When people complained, they said that "they knew that the patch would break other things, but they released it anyway". Just search for "Destiny 1 Hunger Blade nerf". Same thing with the patch that broke the Ogre encounter on Last wish. IMO? Bungie haven't tested any patch. Ever.
-
3 RepliesThat makes two of us. I'm convinced they release stuff without a plan and let the players test it. If guardians are having fun with it and the PvP snowflakes hate it, it gets nerfed.
-
1 ReplyPlay testing these days, step 1- preorder a game for early access or beta. Step 2- Encounter bugs and other issues as a player. Step 3- Report bugs ,game breaking issues etc. Step 4-wait a month for developer to patch bugs ,game breaking issues etc. Final step- take all the money you should have paid out on hiring game play testers before the game released and give it to the CEOs as a bonus salary.

1 ReplyEdited by Tk: 3/18/2019 9:43:54 PMThey definitely dont have any kind of long term play testing. Us players are the testers pretty much. Think about it with d2 launch if they actually play tested it fully, they would have realised the endgame was non-existent and nothing was really there to keep players coming back every week. The game was done for most people in about a month after release.

Edited by PR4X1S: 3/19/2019 1:51:09 PMNope just rush rush rush, well except when it comes to patches or Buffs, then it's tortoise pace.

8 RepliesIf the devs spent all their time playing the game then they wouldn’t have as much time to spend on actually fixing the game and developing new content. And with how much time, effort, money and manpower goes into making a game, Bungie’s devs need all the time they can get. But that’s none of my business, explaining the reality of game development on Bungie.net/reeeeee *insert Kermit drinking tea meme*

1 ReplyQa testing etc in the gaming industry has been on a decline. I believe there was a jimquisition episode on it a while ago. Betas are the new norm and probably has a direct impact on the quality of games on release. I'm still a believer that there should be a one month period after a games release where you're not allowed to patch it. Then it might make developers more inclined to release a working product.
-
8 RepliesYou should. Look at anthem. They press izt uodates like hell and most of them add new bugs. How often do we have bugs in destiny, compared to Anthem? Bungie DOES take the time to test theur stuff.
-
4 RepliesThere are so many negative people on these forums.. no wonder I stopped coming here.
-
This isnt feedback
-
I wonder how many likes I could get with a post simply titled...Destiny Sucks! or Bungie Sucks!. What a silly forum.
-
So...... they do play test everything?
-
I'm convinced Bungie doesn't play test anything. (That's what their player base is for).
^^^----Fixed that for you. ;)
-
In most cases, there is bugs that slip past the initial play test for most games. Not to mention there is WAY less people doing the testing that when it initially releases. Due to the large number of players after release, majority of bugs will pop up because theres so many players doing different things, at different locations, etc etc.
-
3 RepliesIt’s hard for devs to judge their own creations without bias. They need to get a group of players who have never played Destiny or aren’t well known streamers. Then that group hops online like any normal player and plays the game and reports issues directly to Bungie.
-
the paying customers have become the play testers in this generation of gaming with all of the preorders and the ability for companies to update there games later on in the games life.
