Destiny had those difficulty settings for all missions. You could jump into a level 8 story mission but select hard mode which would bump it up to level 12 with a modifier to make more powerful enemies spawn. You got better loot and higher xp for the harder versions.
Those were the days... first time playing the game I did hard mode on every single mission. It may have felt like we were playing a empty unfinished game, but I still think I had more fun in those shootouts then I had in Destiny 2's entire campaign. Then one day that system was dead... it's light faded away... never to be revived.
The difficulty settings were also on strikes right? Or did that not make it past the beta? I remember I was absolutely pissed about something when the game released. Ok just went and watched Datto from 4 years ago. Summoning pits Normal mode but no difficulty setting button anymore. I hate you bungie that change made me so mad. That I could have more fun in the beta in a strike than the final release lol. I felt like I was robbed for every strike that wasn't available in the beta.
and people down vote it.... come on guys how was that option not an improvement to the game.
