Crucible & Gambit broken

The reality is both of these activities are totally broken and need to be pulled. Neither activity is fun and I only play them for the powerful items. Once I reach max light, which will be 2 weeks for black armory, I ignore them for pretty much the rest of the season. I will do a few triumphs here and there though. For example, I completed all the iron banner triumphs in 1 week last season, so I don't have to touch it this year unless I want to play. The everpresent & systematic lag is only part of the reason. After talking to the other team in a laggy match, I always learn they had the same experience. Both sides thought the other was doing something wrong. It seems to be endemic and not simply lag switching or cheating. Guardians are using the same classes and loadouts with legendaries and exotics. We all know the combinations and a guardian is at a severe disadvantage if one does not either have the items or dislikes using them. It's much worse than year 1 graviton lance in quickplay, for example. Since a long term fix would take time, a short term one is to add separate queues for teams and solos. This would at least reduce the coordination that makes things so devastating. Telling people to go to their clan or LFG is missing the point. There are times when I run with a team and times when I run solo; it depends on my goals. Since I win more than 50% of matches regardless, I know how to compete either way. But a game needs to be fun and not painful. Another short term option is to restrict certain items to where they were obtained. Examples include keeping Luna and Not Forgotten in competitive, while telesto is in PVE. If people really want an activity where they can do as they please, then bungie can set one up in crucible labs. Any item, tactic or cheat would be permitted and the rules would be simple, there aren't any. People would not need to play, there would be no reporting of players and nothing would carry over to the rest of the game. I don't claim to know how this would turn out, but it would be interesting to test.

    • Welp if nerfs were not enough you just went full derp on us. Advocating for a full in removal of more than half the playerbase game activities is insane. No company would lose an active one million players because of percieved meta builds. Its laughable, and further dividing the player base by solo and equipment is counterproductive. Literally everything you said, imo, is incredibly stupid.

    • yea agree. The balance is completely broken. Just because an item is hard to obtain shouldn't make it that overpowered in a pvp environment though. Pvp is for testing your skills, and it's frustrating if you can't test your skills, and nothing you do can change the outcome of the match, just because you don't have the right items, or the right subclasses. Or you refuse to play the cheapest loadouts in the game. A game is properly balanced when multiple playstyles are valid. And Crubicle and Gambit is so far from being balanced. It's a big shame.

    • Agreed. I don't believe in nerfs, especially to weapons that are brutally hard to obtain. But I also don't believe in allowing those weapons to be used in a game mode where most of the people don't have.
