HELP GAMBIT

Gambit needs help, the issues with the game mode are piling up, please guys post suggestions on how they should move forward,MAYBE bungie will see this, MAYBE for once they will actually listen to our opinions since after all we do support them and play they're freaking game. They probably don't care but I for one would like to see the wall hacks taken from the invader, Just that alone him not being able to see through walls would be enough to help out the game a lot, also give him an extra 5 or so seconds of time when he invades and give his over shield a timer so he will lose it if he is trying to camp across map with sleeper ect. Give him more of a reason to rush into battle and look for opponents make finding the enemies a tad bit more challenging for him not overboard but the way it is now is bad. Make it so motes only drop for the person who killed the enemies but only for so many seconds about half the duration of the motes spawn they should be ours to claim then they should be anyones then they should despawn if no one picks them up.

  • Invader isn't even a problem if you start looking for him. Take away wall hacks and there will be no point to invading - 30 seconds of running blind - useless? Invasion is what makes Gambit exciting - don't ruin that.

    • There is only three possible spawn locations for an invader. (clearly your problem is getting salty from Invaders) learn the spawn points. Once you've mastered the pattern of spawns, watch the bar on the enemies' points. If they have 25, it'll say enemy invasion portal active. Wait for the invader camp a spawn point with a long range weapon. Once they invade, wait a second or two to determine if they spawned there, if not look at another spawn point. I mean come on as soon as we get invaded 9/10 I drop the invader almost immediately. I don't even remember the last time we lost a match. Also stop queuing solo, just find some cool people on the app and make it a regular fireteam, put that in the description, there's like minded people looking for the same thing. You just suck at PVP or can't grasp the PVP element of this game mode. You're just crying tears of salt eight now.

      • Gambit isn’t my favorite game mode but it’s not because of bungie. It’s stupid blueberries wanting to wait for 15 motes each time, especially when they collect two and it’s time for a prime. It’s stupid blueberries who intentional die to throw the match (these I report for griefing), it’s stupid blueberries that use worthless loadouts that is neither good for pvp or pve, it’s stupid blueberries who never shoot one enemy then think they are entitled to every mote on the field then get triggered and message you outside the game( these I work extremely hard at trolling to get them comm banned and generally succeed), ummm give me time I will probably come back and edit this to add more. 🎃

        • Or just remove the PvP aspect of gambit altogether. You basically have that aspect with being able to send blockers. But instead of 5,10,or 15 vaule gets you a blocker each number should come with blocker attached to it. 1 to 4 give a thrall. 5 still give the phalanx. 6 to 9 gives two vandals and two hobgoblins. 10 still give the knight. 11 to 14 gives a witch. 15 still give the ogre. I say that's a better compromise. Make it a competition on who can kill a strike level boss the fastest instead of it being who can be more of an asshole to the other team.

              Motes need a larger hit box for pick up.. Iv run over them so many times and sometimes just dont even pick them up. Motes dropping in locations where they are impossible to pick up needs fixed. Invader should not be able to use heavy. Seriously this would fix the sleeper issue in alot of ways. The invader already has over shields, as well as a damage buff, and do not show up on radar to the enemy team. Amount of invasions should also be decreased when the primevil is spawned.

              • Remove the catch up mechanic. Maybe instead of killing guardians to heal prime evil, the invader heals the prime evil by dealing damage to it. So invader could choose to go for kills against guardians and stop DPS for a bit, or invader could shoot the prime evil but every damage number heals instead of hurts it. Possibly a balance in damage/healing numbers so if a shot would do 100 damage, it would do 200 healing to prime evil, this would offset the 4v1 damage healing ratio, but not too much sonic a team breaks off DPS to kill invader, it's not an automatic 100% instant heal on the prime evil. The above idea obviously needs tweaking, I'm just typing off the top of my head. Remove the catch up mechanic. Maybe when a team has enough to spawn their prime evil, have tons more ads spawn. This would raise the challenge to get back and deposit, but would also mitigate the players who hold motes and dont deposit them, whether they are trolling, going for 15, or just not paying attention. The rest of the team could go collect more motes and deposit easier because more ads are available. Remove the catch up mechanic. Reduce the number of invasions during prime evil phase. Maybe keep it at 1 invasion every 25, so there total during the ad phases, and then have the portal open for your opponents at 2 different points in DPS. So when you get your prime evil to 50%, your enemy can invade. When you get your prime evil to 25%, they can invade again, and that's it for prime evil invasions. Maybe raise it to 3 invasions during prime evil? Like once at 75%, 50% & 25%. If an invader comes in at 75%, and you melt the boss past 50%, your opponents lose the next invasion, so it could be more strategic between trying to melt the boss, kill the invader, or try and get the boss from 75% to 25% while the invader is still alive to prevent the enemy invasions. Remove the catch up mechanic.

                A few changes they should do, invading needs a rework it's the biggest game breaking issue in gambit u have way to much going for when invading an it needs changing, 100% map awareness for the full duration is OP as -blam!-, fixing this issue will stop all the nerf this nerf that threads cause once u nerf something something else quickly fills that spots an it becomes a vicious circle. The catch up mechanic, lose the first match then they spawn higher value mobs so you can win the round, it needs to be totally removed an gambit needs to be a 1 round an it's over, not stretching it out to last 3 rounds FOR NO REWARDS AT ALL. REWARDS actually have the game mode I dunno actually drop gambit items at the end of a match, gambit has to be the worst rewarding bit if content ever created, making players have to level up 3 times to get a single legendary item is pathetic in a loot based game. Prime evils have them do something more than just stamp, some sorta mechanics would be good cause right now the prime evil bosses do nothing but stamp an send u flying half way across the map an that mechanic is getting old fast.

                • I thoroughly enjoy everything about gambit. And no i dont use sleeper, never even finished the quest. But i still wipe the whole team every time i go threw the portal. Sleeper is for nubs. Learn to aim and use cover. People cant handle competition, you dont even lose anything if you do lose! FFS play the game, have fun win or lose and keep going. This isnt kids soccer, take your lose. Learn from your mistakes and make a change to improve what you can do better. You learn from losing and making mistakes, play better skilled players and your skill will go up. Might as well just give everyone water guns and ballons for gernades. Seriously... why should better players be brought down to your poor skill level cause you cant handle a lose or improve yourself? Yea...

                  • There’s nothing wrong with Gambit. If people would stop trying to go for the big 15 for a blocker that’s worth even less than the one for only 10 these posts would die out pretty quick. 15 motes is only for the moment the opportunity presents itself or if the other can’t even drop a single mote into their bank. Another huge mistake I see all the time is when the alarms go off and no one readies themselves to deal with the invader. 2 scouts are all you need to shut one invader down. The final big and the most silly mistake I see that annoys me and others the most is when you only need 3 motes to summon a primeval yet everyone is still killing the trash. Seriously guys. The Drifter yells this into your ears. Maybe it’s an important message that will help you win! Why is this last mistake even a thing?! 🤦‍♀️

                    • Ideas for gambit: -drifter should say where the invader spawned. -limited number of invades per match (when primeval is summoned) -increase in primeval health

                    • I've had matches where my team won 2-0. I've had losses 2-0. I've seen last second comebacks. The catchup mechanic isn't bad. People are crying about it because they won round one and let up in round 2. No it doesn't need to be one and done. Also the more primevile you spawn, the more chances at the servitor. Every other pvp activity is one and done, the 2 or of 3 makes gambit different. If you don't like it, go play crucible. oh, and before you get salty. I don't use sleeper. A rocket with tracking can counter it, so can the colony.

                      • Gotta say I don't really agree with anything you said about the invader. You need to keep in mind it's a 1v4. That's why invader has overshield and wall hack. Invaders only feel so strong because of sleeper simulant. They are easy to deal with if the whole team gangs up on them. That's a communication and team situation, not a problem with the game mode.

                        • Unfortunately there’s no way of fixing it without drastically changing the way the gamemode works. Removing truesight would probably be the one change that would be welcomed by most.

                        • Need nerf god dam sleeper kids are trash in gambit they hide in the back using sleeper like a bunch of untalented children they are don’t let heavy drop from ai and make it harder to get heavy would prevent a lot of trash player from winning and it would make it enjoyable but again bungie don’t -blam!-ing care what we have to say

                          • It should be 1 round. 1 and done. Win or lose. Not best 2 of 3. At least if it's only 1 round people may stick around for the lopsided matchmaking long enough to finish a match.

                          • Some ideas on how to fix busted ads Gambit in no order of combo of: Wall hack changed to blip every 5 or so seconds Over shield removed Team being invaded gets same wall hacks when invader gets shot or lands a shot Bounty rewards buffed by a huge amount...even 150 rank points would be insufficient Bounty requirements changed to things that do not promote selfish play styles Quests changed to things that do not promote selfish play styles Catch up mechanics turned way down Only one invasion (maybe 2) once the other teams boss spawns Slayer buff called @5 These are just some thoughts I have had to make this terrible, rage inducing, unbalanced mess of a game mode more fun to play. I currently do NOT play because I enjoy it. I am forced to suffer and rage through game after game dreaming of the time when I no longer have to deal with this garbage because I want certain things that only come from playing gambit

                            • Maybe keep the wall hacks, but remove the mote counter. Maybe leave an icon indicating you’re holding motes but not exactly how many. This will encourage more aggressive gameplay and discourage camping and picking off the one dude holding the most. It’s a bit too “easy mode” for invaders right now. Shit, I’ve done the same thing just because it’s a giant “hey kill me first” flag.
