I don't mind giving us more sources to get Cores. However, I do feel like there needs to be a tweak to the infusion of cores based on whay we are infusing. ---For instance, As it stands if you fuse the same piece of armor/weapon into itself it only costs glimmer. That's cool. BUT if you infuse, let's say, one rocket launcher into an entirely different rocket launcher--you have to spend 2 cores. What I propose is that if you infuse the same weapon type it should only cost 1 core. Consequently if you infuse a Sniper Rifle into a Rocket Launcher (or vise versa) it would cost 2 cores--because those are two different weapon types. As for Armor. If they are the same exact chest piece then fine--glimmer (cool). But if they are not the same chest piece (yet STILL chest pieces) they should only be 1 Core. ---As for the sources of cores themselves 1) Every Powerful Engram you get should come with 1-3 cores. Daily Challenges= 1 Core Powerful Engram Bounties= 2 Cores Weekly Challenges= 3 cores 2) Heroic Public Events This would be a good incentive to actually make Public Events heroic. As it stands there are those who come in and burn the boss without making encounters heroic, which is kind of annoying. 1 Core. 3) Heroic Adventures= 2 Cores ***Onto more CHALLENGING content 4) Escalation Protocol= 4 cores from Wave 7 chest 5) Nightfall Strikes= 4 Cores 6) Blind Well Tier 4 (Heroic)= 4 Cores 7) Ascendant challenges= 3 Cores 8) Shattered Dungeon= 8 Cores And lastly, 9) Raid Completions = 10 In some cases, these rewards give more incentive to complete certain activities. Making them even more rewarding, while also making some older or not as prioritized content more relevant in the current meta.

  • You are wayyyyy to liberal with the core giving for power drops and heroic events. Negative ghost rider. 50% chance at a core for every weekly powerful engram turned in 20% chance drop from daily power turned in 5% from heroic public event

  • Sounds like a good alternative, that I can back. Unfortunately, a lot of the player base do not like percentages/chances and want guaranteed drops for what they do.

  • Guaranteed drops are fine for certain things, but not for something like master work cores unless you’re getting it from legit endgame content. The power engram itself is the guaranteed drop Chest rewards from heroic events would be op if there was a guaranteed masterwork. I could gather 5-10 cores in an hour. It would kill the economy.

  • Well as it stands many feel like bungie have already killed the economy (one extreme). Do I agree? Hell no. And in fairness doing those activities still take a level of grind. If you want to spend hours farming Heroic Public events that's a choice you can make but atleast you'd come out with a nice chunk of cores from it. Also, the economy wouldnt be killed because of it (another extreme) because they are still being used for infusion/masterworking so even if you spend hours getting 20+ cores they'd still go in practically an instant once you start spending them. Bungie didn't say anything about changing the costs for infusion. So we have yet to see if they will.
