It's good to have 'end game' activities that you need to level up to to beat, like The Shattered Throne, it's challenging and rewarding to beat (please stop cheesing it) where the problem lies is placing Exotic missions under double layers of RNG, even triple layers, I'm talking about Malfeseance here, the drifter should have offered everyone the quest to start with once you complete his weekly powerful reward bounty, and then for the 1st step the bounty reads 'The curse has taken (pun intended) its toll on the enemies within Gambit, I'm hearing reports og High Value Targets carrying some suspect chandise, go kill them and find out what it is' You then go into Gambit and when a HVT spawns you kill it, it drops a total of 15 cursed Motes, which you have to bank, this then manipulates the Primeval spawn machine and you get the Servitor Primeval, you then have to beat it before the opposing teams wins, once you beat it sends you on the 'Quest grind' for kills and parts etc etc etc
Make the quests hard sure, make them require high power to beat, great, but don't place them under RNG where 1 player may get it 1st game and another player doesn't get it for 2000 games.
I really feel like this is one thing Bungie needs to change, not just for this specific quest but for all quests in future, making a 'Quest' available as an RNG drop is awful development.
EDIT: I got the Ace of Spades pre quest patch for all you trolls out there!

3 RepliesIt's a way to keep you grinding content for a longer period of time without making new content. It's made the game into a lottery or slot machine I guess, constantly pulling the lever hoping an exotic will drop, that the seed of light will drop, and now that a quest drops. F that. I did Thorn D1 quest, the pulse rifle from the raid, the everything... but I'm sorry I did then and it's sad people are perpetuating this BS. Gambling is a serious addiction and they are using RNG as a gambling game mechanic to keep people playing, and it's gross.

3 Repliesgot mine, im fine with the quest.
-
Spot on brother 100% nailed it.

I got aos pre patch too. My only issue with this was the clarity on how to achieve it pre patch. "Invader kills" Good job on being specific Bunghole. Like many I wasted hours trying to invade to get handcannon kills.😂😂😂
-
I agree exotic quests should be hard missions instead of get x amount of kill in y. exotic quests should have their own mini storyline missions so it makes them interesting.
-
My main gripe with it is the gun itself neeeeeeds a buff. It's very underwhelming atm

7 RepliesRng is used in this game to create a fake grind

17 RepliesEdited by Heliocop: 9/28/2018 4:24:12 PM104 games deep, I've become a soulless gambit machine. I've done maybe 3 other activities since reset (I'm pretty stubborn) so either I'll get it by the end of the week or I'll be taking a break for my sanity. Edit: thanks for the support guys, it's shitty but it helps to know we're in the same boat. I can't just stop, no longer player as much, but I will stick to gambit, either I'll get it or break. it's ok if I break guys, it doesn't mean you will! -110 games

6 RepliesThe Malfeasance drop rate is ridiculous, I've played 30+ gambit matches and have summoned and killed at least 60+ primevals in the last 2 days and haven't even seen the boss that drops the quest and yet there is people getting the boss and the quest after only a couple games.

1 ReplyMay sound elitist, but I really enjoy there are guns not everyone will or can get. Additionally, I am glad there are guns that I will infinitely struggle to get, but never obtained.

4 RepliesBeta player thats come back for Forsaken’s opinion: Dude I’m just tired of them even being called ‘Quests’. Anything that feels like I can put on a clipboard shouldn’t be called a ‘Quest’. Like really, I play Gambit to get Malfeasance? That’s supposed to reflect the lore importance of what’s happening? Not being inducted into some secret forbidden lore with The Drifter? I mean sh!t, at this point I’d be fine with still image cutscenes and reading text boxes.
-
Malfeasance quest has ruined gambit. It's horrible at the moment.
-
2 RepliesJust got the boss. AFTER 2 OF MY TEAMMATES LEFT THE GAME. And then.. Who could have guessed.. We lost.
-
Eh, I played gambit, had fun and got better, eventually got the boss and then didn’t sleep till I finished the quest..
-
Honestly, if theyd just fix it so you dont have to rely on competitive match ups, or it just pops up and doles out the quest I'd be happy. All my friends got that -blam!-er either in 1st match since drop or after a few games. Ive seen it twice in my god knows how many matches since drop, and gotten beaten out twice. -blam!- you Bungie.

8 RepliesMakes it worse when it spawns and your random team members don’t have a clue how to play Gambit and the other team melts them and their boss
-
3 RepliesWhy does it have to be something that everyone can get?
-
The severity of the rng should be closer to the 2000 then the 1. The reason I say that, in the case of exotics is that they should be rare. If it was that hard to get sleeper, no one would be debating the weapon until months later when a majority finnaly had it.

3 RepliesI was doing awful in the game where the malfeasance boss showed Play like a meatball...Summon the meatball

1 ReplyAfter my first reset at gambit, 2 days later you could get the quest. Almost on my 2nd reset and guess what! No boss #@#!?!# i love RNG
-
It’s fine as it is not got the quest yet and not high enough it’s something to drop in the next few weeks. Did my ace and doing chaperone as I play not grinding it out just for the gun

16 RepliesI’m not sure quests requiring PvP steps are all that smart to be honest, especially when you are very average at PvP like me. For AoS I completely ignored my prime evil to spawn camp invaders to get my 5 kills because I was struggling. I’m sure my team appreciated that. Chaperone I spent a couple matching creeping around with a shotgun ignoring objectives to get my 20 shotgun kills. Even some of the bounties for Gambit force you to play a selfish style (like particular blockers, stealing other’s motes for motes banked etc) rather than do what’s best for your team. I’m onto 25 Competitive matches for the Broadsword quest. I’m sure these guys trying to get their Glory up enjoy having this pathetic player on their team. These steps in quests are just a detriment to the other people you are playing with.

2 RepliesBasially this is the major problem with a lot of the quests Bungie design. They want to force players to "Experience" the new content because they spent time making it and you'll bally well play it! The droves of players starting to abandon ship will tell them that it's not a strategy that is appreciated by anyone. I go to work. I do not come home to then have to work a full day again for a bounty tied to some BS rng. Make the steps hard by all means but, make them fair! If the primeval spawns for the malfeasance quest then the players trying to kill it should be allowed to do so whether they win the round or not! Have the drifter yell "That's not the Primeval I sent! Kill it and get it out of my game!". This removed the idiotic need for both RNG and pure luck to be able to even start the quest. It's simple changes like this that would have made the quest fair to grind for. Bungie really need to start thining about their players!
-
100% agree. The malfeasance quest is really fun and challenging, but waiting on the rng boss was just obnoxious.

4 RepliesI woke up this morning a little earlier than usual to play some Gambit before walking my son to school. The hentai donut spawned my very first match and we melted it. Mission accomplished. I went back to bed and grinded on the wifey instead.
