This is pure opinion and simply a side for any Bungie employee who is reading through the forums to consider.
Gambit has too many feelsbad moments and not enough feelsgood moments. In the current Sleeper meta invading doesn't feel good unless you kill everyone on the other team. When Forsaken first came out I had some awesome moments going in with Ace of Spades and a super.... It felt good getting two kills but now with Sleeper being so good I feel like a bad player when I don't get all 4.
I believe that the the defending team should be able to see the invader through walls as well once they've taken damage from a defender. That way if someone tags them they can call out "I HIT HIM HE'S OVER BY THE BLAH" and they'll be tagged so they will find it harder to delete people from nowhere.
I absolutely do not find it enjoyable to be laser-focused on watching out for invaders while also being harassed by 10 Thrall or chipped away at by Hobgoblins. Lining up a snipe just to be flinched by a thrall or any other ad to then have your team be destroyed by a Sleeper is soul crushing. Trying to get the ads off you while also watching out for a one shot, infinite range Sleeper is just too much. The maps are too claustrophobic to find the room to fight off invaders in some situations. Tether makes the ad situation bearable but I get really sick of running Tether sometimes... I wanna use Blade Barrage because it's dope! Without Tether, fighting invaders can be extremely frustrating.
Heavy ammo NEEDS to stop dropping from ads. It's far too powerful to be random. Make heavy ammo rarer by making it only spawn on the walls, maybe reduce the frequency that it spawns at the start and increase it when the other teams Primeval is out. I think Gambit will be a much more digestible mode if invader kills are more comparable to goals in soccer than scoring in football. Rare but important. Make it feel good to get two kills rather than bad for only getting two kills. I'm good at PVP so I know I can easily get kills normally and 100% think the game is more interesting when there is less heavy ammo going around, or if it's better for teams to use it on boss.
I absolutely love Forsaken and simply want Bungie to find a way to improve Gambit because I believe it has HUGE potential.
Edit:
Just wanted to say I love the discussion people are having here. It goes to show people really care about Gambit and want Bungie to find the best version of it.
I'm a bit annoyed with myself because this post did kind of turn into another Sleeper hate post... I hope people are able to see the bigger picture.

3 RepliesHeavy ammo for tanky bosses. I don’t see the issue? I think everything is set up fine. When I invade and down 20-30 enemy motes it’s a rush. If your complaining about gambit you must just be a bad player. When someone invades you it’s across the map to your teams current location, they glow red so it’s already easy to find invaders. Sleeper deserves to be OP... if you have it you know why. If you don’t have sleeper it is easy to whine about it. If gambit is too much or boring for you do something else? Stop asking for changes to make everything “easier” or cater to the casuals.

18 RepliesEdited by foreverrich602: 9/27/2018 4:04:11 PMWhat pisses me off is: • Heavy ammo campers • Portal campers who invade and kill no one but keeps invading • The guy that’s holding 15 notes but doesnt bank thus losing them because he thinks he is Superman and tries to solo enemies in the next wave. • Sleeper is still annoying but whatever. • “ You have enough to summon a prime evil bank those motes “ yet the guys still holding are still trying to kills enemies. • No one shoots the envoys except me. • I got 13 motes let me get those two on the ground....NOPE! SWOOP! The guy with no motes grabs em. • No one helps with blockers. If you go into gambit without this mentality you’ll have fun but if you go in trying to win you’re gonna pop a cap with these blueberries.

5 RepliesIf they actually had Dedicated Host Servers, Gambit could be fun. But 80% of my matches are terribly laggy, where it feels like my Mobility 7 hunter is wading waist deep through feces. His movement speed is 25% of what it is outside of Gambit. And it gets even worse when the screen goes dark and an invader shows up. Expecting people with McDonald's free WiFi Connections to handle the amount of data sent that is transmitted is stupid, especially on the upload side.

I dont know about making heavy stop because at that point you'd be fighting randoms for the power ammo and you'd probably have one guy stock up on it while everyone else has none

Edited by BRAZACK: 9/28/2018 10:39:35 PMSleeper has nothing to do with it sucking. I invade and 1 shot dudes with a legendary sniper rifle(the ones in the god damn special slot not the heavy slot). People cry too much about sleeper, the real cancer is graviton lance.....thats the one that makes me rage. Sleeper is a heavy weapon its meant to be strong. In crucible heavy ammo should not be spawning as much as it currently does because alot of people abuse the crap out of it. I mostly run with my handcannon but i keep running into shotgun warriors and heavy ammo whores. Still not asking for nerfs though. I just want heavy ammo to spawn once or twice a round like in d1 and when the crate is opened everybody thats close to it gets heavy ammo. The way heavy ammo currently works in crucible is broken and open for abuse. Heavy ammo is fine in gambit jut lower the spawn rate of the crates but leave the drop rate of heavy ammo as it is.

3 RepliesGambit sucks because of Sleeper. Other than that it’s fun

Yeah Sleeper Simulant is ruining the game mode. Anyone who defends it is not thinking about balance. There's no reason a one hit body shot sniper gun should exist in that game mode. Sleeper is completely out of line with the other sniper type heavies in general. I always leave gambit with a sour feeling in my gut.

1 ReplyEdited by DaddyxPSYCHO: 9/28/2018 5:56:28 PMI completely agree with this topic, if I may add...the reward drop rate for bounties, leveling up, etc are far to dupe heavy. I have a list of the things I have gotten and the duplicates that drop are unbelievable: Helmet x7 Chest x4 Arms x6 Boots: x2 Class item x2 Hand Cannon x4 Rocket launcher x4 Scout rifle x3 Pulse rifle x5 Sniper x1 I have been grinding and slogging through bounties just to get the auto rifle and I haven't gotten it yet. I'm currently rank 15 and I'm still missing the auto rifle, the smg, and the grenade launcher. I enjoy Gambit I really want to see it improve so it will be even more fun.

1 ReplyCool for you but Im adoring it personally. I dont see much power ammo

I see why people hate the sleeper and whisper so much in gambit. Easy to invade with, and easily the best weapons to melt bosses with. Locking heavy while invading might be a work around, but I wonder if it wouldn’t be a great idea to start banning certain weapons from game modes like this altogether. That way, you can still use these guns in PvE and crucible, but you can’t break gambit by using them. If you take gambit seriously at all, it would be a requirement to run at least 2 sleepers or whispers, but ideally all 4 would have one or the other. If a team has neither, they put themselves at a major disadvantage...

1 ReplyThis is actually very good! I also strongly agree on heavy only spawning on the middle point. This would take out the rng effect with heavies. I had multiple rounds with absolutely no heavy drops from ads, while the enemy team had no problem blowing everything up.

5 RepliesMf goo goo gaga. Need to start handing out pacifiers for all the crybabies. All I hear is I can’t do this, I can’t do that, make it better for me. Grow some mf balls and learn to defend yourself.

2 RepliesSo have just spent some time playing gambit again, and yet again matches lost were predominantly down to 4 stacks versus solo - cannot compete due to the burn down of prime As it is if I ever encounter the malfeasance boss I doubt we’ll win because it’s nigh on impossible to win versus stack Also wonder how much the PVP level enablement changes things as well as I’ve also noticed that predominantly the stacks are higher level than the solos - with some of them rocking +20-30 levels above majority of the solos if those advantages carry through to all enemy (and boss) damage it also adds to the super fast burn down.
-
i love gambit, to me sleeper is what ruining it, other than that i have a great time...and from what i understand they are looking for ways for sleeper to be less prominent in gambit
-
I think they should limit it to 2 invasions per match to make the other team have to tactically think about when they invade. That way the sleeper wouldn’t need to be messed with and make it more fun. If they invade too early then they wasted an invade they could use when a team has pulled a prime!
-
It isn't fun at all. Hard to imagine a bigger fail than POE but they did it. Forsaken is dope otherwise.
-
is that actually feedback in a destiny forum? *I think im getting a little light headed*
-
I just don't like the intruder part. It's a nice wrinkle, but I'd like to know where they are to make it fair. Also, they seem to come too much towards the end of the match. Outside of that, a nice addition to the game.
-
Too much heavy ammo? no way, there's not enough. The Sleeper? well considering it's the best weapon for both invader kills and boss DPS, everybody should have it equipped anyway, just look for the invader and laser the guy first, that's what we do.
-
9 RepliesThe sleeper actually doesn’t bother me because when I see people use it I think there pathetic and can’t use anything else, same with graviton Lance in crucible
-
Ammo drops, big problem I noticed droughts of special and heavy even when specting-out my armour to maximize those very things. And also even worst ammo drought once the prime shows up, yellow bars dropping nothing.
-
1 ReplyI just play gambit for certain quests/bounties and challenge rewards. Not really worth playing imo.
-
1 ReplySo here's the deal with Gambit folks. If you are not running with a fire team then don't complain. Communication is huge in gambit. Call out are huge in gambit. Bank motes quickly ( meaning if you are going from one area to another and your passing the bank then dump those motes ). If you are not banking those motes and your hoarding them and when that invader comes and he has that one shot sleeper then your doing double the work. If your hoarding for a bounty do it early in gambit because that second and third round are much harder. And if you are wanting to be the invader and every time you invade you get no kills over and over then please stop invading your only hurting your team. Also if your prime tuned then play gambit. I get 3 or 4 prime drops in gambit.

1 ReplyI like Gambit and think it is fun, overall, whether played solo or with my clan. It's just going to take time for people to learn how to play it. I sympathize, though, because you're giving a similar argument to what people said when Quick Play matchmaking was changed to be non-skills based. It took the fun out of QP for many players because now the above average players stomp everyone, just like Sleeper users stomp everyone in Gambit. It could use a little tweaking by making the invasions more challenging (for both sides), or the adds more randomized, but overall, it is fun. In a few months when everyone learns what to do with motes and how to kill the bosses, it may get a little too "samey" game after game.

If heavy doesnt drop from ads you have even less of a chance to defend against an invading sleeper.

1 ReplyWhisper of the Worm > Sleeper Stimulant. Change my mind.
