Never did I think that this subforum would forge a new future...
It was just a normal year. I discovered that bungie accounts were a thing.
After lookin at offtopic for about 3 years, I decided to get in the action meself.
I lurked last year. Then came January, and the thought that I never thought I would think of entered my head...
“What would happen if I started posting?”
And that day I couldn’t go back. I dwelled in #gaming for a whole month before even touching offtopic.
And the experience I got cannot be compared to any other.
Little did I know that I’d meet such a plethora of awesome ass people like Xronad and Coolhandluke.
Little did I know I would be accepted into this wacky family.
And little did I know the charm y’all would give me each day, from Peaches’s posts to all of y’all’s stories.
And to all I say: Thank You.
Let this be a lesson to lurkers: You never know what’s gonna go down in offtopic until you hop in.
And once you hop in, there’s no escaping our family ;)

2 RepliesI'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. This forum is a shell of its former self. The only time this place was truly great was after Reach came out but before Destiny 1 came out. When the website had maybe a thousand users and everyone knew each other and the moderators barely even cared. These days bait is all that exists and some of the most popular users are gone. And even sept7agon or however it was spelled is dead too, so we don't even have a pretender forum to take its place. I'm just clinging on for another dead period to see if this place ever can become what it once was. But that doesn't seem likely.

Destiny, whenever I go to that forum, is always a mash of constant complaints of the same things over and over and over again. I left this forum for about two years, only to come back to the same rehashed arguments. The beaten horse has been literally beaten to nothing. [url=https://i.gyazo.com/0b494c8c32f752021fd09df4084196ea.png]I go to that forum now, and these are the first topics I see.[/url] Half of them are complaints or complaining about people complaining. We need an Optimatch forum for Destiny, maybe even a Voting Booth. I go to Community, and a good chunk of the topics I see are about clans or asking you to join one. A far cry from the Community forum of old or the Bungie Universe forum. We also need a Classifieds forum. And Offtopic, when was the last time this place had any community interaction between members? All this place has is overdone jokes, dull topics, repetitive personalities that try to imitate better members who are no longer with us, and those who try to "fit in" for whatever reason. There are some forum games that are being played, though I don't really pay attention to them. Conversations are pathetic, and while my anecdote involves politics (which would [i]never [/i]be allowed), the forums were more ruled which removed the majority of the current toxicity. Muting does play a hand in fixing this, to help ninjas with the coming masses that Destiny would inevitably bring in. I go back to those forums, and it seems that all of the topics have now been deleted. There was an old topic from the Halo 1 forum, "Things We Took For Granted", and today my entry would be having an actual community.
