Anecdotal: most of my matches have been blowouts. Bug or windshield.
Whatever happened to close matches?
Hard fact: destinytracker.com ELO gives a good extrapolation of skill though not an official part of the game. Players and teams with higher ELO have greater chances to win and the score usually predicts the winner accurately.
These numbers for Iron Banner matches show gross imbalance with many matches having a 99% chance of decisive outcome. Look at your own match history to see this for yourself.

Forsaken has way more issues then The Taken King had and at that time I thought Ttk was bad, nope, Forsaken is far worse off. Mainly because of Bungie's decision to attempt to balance the entire game that was never meant to be balanced the way they are going about it. Matchmaking is a disaster in D2 and anyone that didn't buy forsaken got screwed out of IB. Gamers have been saying this is like D1. Wrong, D1 didn't have a 20 power level advantage and it shows how clearly some gamers are lost playing IB in D2. Besides all that, the gear in D2 has been so underwhelming it has ruined the incentive for a lot of gamers to want to run certain events. Forget about everything else. WTH happen to random rolls? This isn't random rolls, this is random perks that only (slightly improve your guardian.) D1 random rolls improved everything about your guardian that that alone was an incentive for gamers to want to run certain events. IMO this company is more lost then they have ever been with this game versus D1. How about them scout rifles being nerfed before D2 released? A year later just to fix it knowing they had the option? WTH is this company doing with this game? That was my first iron banner in this game and it was a -blam!-ing joke! Why would Bungie give the base/vanilla game away for free and then the very first iron banner enable light lvl advantage? The only answer is because Bungie is run by ass holes. I'm amazed I kept my k/d above a 1.0 after doing about 100 IB matches. I realized really fast I had to play like a total low life scum bag using every little cheap trick in the book. All I did every match was take little pot shots from across the map hoping to get assist kills and constantly running away and hiding. It felt so scummy. Ppl who play like that all the time normally must have zero dignity and zero honor.

32 RepliesPeople didn’t want SBMM (ie close games), they didn’t want sweaty matches, because at the end of a hard days at work, people want to relax and have fun. That’s code for people saying that they want to pub stomp to prove their manhood.

38 Repliesif iron banner is gonna be power level enabled then all the rewards should drop at or just above your level like it used to In d1 so the more you play the more you level up seems like the best solution to this problem

True. My team either annihilates the other, or vice versatile. Like don’t get me wrong I’ll have good PVP games sometimes; but when I’m getting 25+ kills, against teams that are waaaaay stronger than me, something is wrong.

They need to return to neutralizing zones before capture. There’s no chance against a team that is coordinating well and capping zones faster.

However, on Saturday I felt [b][i]obligated[/i][/b] to do a few Gambit matches ( for the Ace of Spades quest ). After comfortably winning the first 2 matches with a clean sweep ( rounds 1 and 2 were comfortably won on both matches ), I got the “WeAreBreakingUpTeamsToFindABetterMatch” message, needless to say, I was dropped into match that was a lot more competitive ( lost the first round, we won the second and third ). The next time I logged on, I was dropped into match in progress, one where the opposing team’s Prime Evil was defeated before I could even make my way into the main arena. To be honest, I’m not really sure what to make of it. On one hand, no team should be able to completely curb stomp the other, so it’s good that Match making tries to keep things fair. On the other hand, I feel as if the game was punishing me because I won my first 4 Gambit matches and I’d yet to experience a loss. There’s something really disgusting about playing a game where you feel as if the odds are deliberately stacked against you.

I already spent $100 for two copies of the game + expansions for me and my wife and we cant play this game after forsaken any more without paying more money. Is this a normal service? I will never buy any other product from this assholes.

They have to bring in some matchmaking changes to this mode soon. SBMM is ok on its own. But not comboed with power level advantages. The guy you're fighting is of similar talent. The engagement is now completely decided by who has higher light. It leaves very little outplay potential and throws the game right back into hugging teammates because you don't have a reasonable chance at surviving solo unless you're at the top end of time played in forsaken. Then to make things worse you might be playing a full squad. The game either needs a solo que or it needs to take power levels into account during matchmaking

I went in at 515 solo and didn't even finish 30 matches. LL advantage was just too much for me. I guess if this his how IB is going to be I'll skip it until I get my LL up.

5 RepliesI'm 545 and I couldn't 2 melee a guy who was 555...left real quick after that. I'm fine with level advantage but 10 levels means I can't double melee? Idk I just feel it shouldn't be that crazy. I can see like 30 or 40 levels making a difference but 10?!

CBMM feels and is less laggy, I prefer playing other players in my country. SBMM is fine but there’s no longer enough players in the Crucible to support this and I’d rather not go back to playing against penguins from the South Pole with the insane lag.
