Crucible - THE zero skill weapon - let's get rid of The Colony
Why would an army of developers go to such lengths to construct an arena and an arsenal of weaponry to create heated online battles - only to drop in that zero skill PoS weapon known as The Colony. AKA - the fire and forget 'I Win' button of Destiny 2.
What a joke this weapon is. It's probably harder to get hold of the ammo than it is to kill with this army of robotic spiderlings. On paper 10/10 ... but in practice, it's just a joke that pees in the face of people who go to great effort to develop skill in this game, only for some turd to pop a few spiders on the ground from round the corner.
This is one of those 'why Bungie' moments for me. Having cooled off the game for a couple of months, to come back and find Crucible is basically Colony wars now tells me the game still isn't going in the right direction. I've not faced one sniper in the last 20 matches ... and not one shotgun.
The only good thing about The Colony is the fact that when you've got that loaded, you're unable to use Graviton Lance or Vigilance Wing at the same time.
Ditch this weapon now.

It looks and sounds like you have not spent that much time playing PvP. At least your k/d isn’t negative. 1.15.

The "just jump" argument OMEGALUL. Must be nice on console to have players so bad you won't get instantly killed for jumping against your will. Since it can go up walls, you have to jump out in the open, and on PC that's certain death 100% of the time. Very little potential to outplay this weapon if the user has half a brain, but that applies to Play of the Game, Orewing's Maul, and other nade launchers as well. Really miss, like, not having these things around in D1. I'd be happy if they just deleted Grenade Launchers entirely and the Tractor Cannon too while they're at it, but that's obviously not gonna happen. These are broken on PC right now and they'll stay that way until Forsaken. Sucks. At the end of the day, Power Ammo is an added objective in PvP in D2, and if you aren't controlling it, you're going to have a bad time and you should start taking anti-tilt measures as soon as you realize it.

Only scrubs use the colony, and only a scrub gets killed by it. Its the easiest thing to avoid. JUST JUMP. You can even kill the spiders with an AoE grenade if you have one. Other then that, jump and avoid boxes and walls. Easy.

" how skilled can you be if you can't press the jump button and back on your stick at the same time or watch your feed to see what heavy a player loads or begin to evade as soon as you hear the sound of the colony firing or don't rush enclosed areas if said player has loaded the colony in your feed ? Make no mistake, I agree it's a bitch weapon and it's an occuring trend in matches I notice that when I am killed by it thst the user usually doesn't kill me unless he has heavy. But it can be easily countered. Just jump in the air. Honestly if you aren't by a wall it's thwt simple. The people using the weapon honestly aren't a problem most games because the rest of their line up is trash and they are usually trash. Sins of the past kills me more than that thing ever has.
