Amongst other questions they were asked how they would act in a situation where they could have sexual intercourse with a woman against her will “if nobody would ever know and there wouldn’t be any consequences”.
31.7% of all men participating in the study would force a woman to have sexual intercourse in such a “consequence-free situation” – which is -blam!-.
2 RepliesEdited by ElementNinja: 5/13/2018 3:26:13 PMWhat rápé culture?
The study was conducted by academics at the University of North Dakota and the North Dakota State University. Its sample size was 86 people.

31.7% of all men participating in the study would force a woman to have sexual intercourse in such a “consequence-free situation” – which is -blam!-.
That’s about only 27 people.
When explicitly asked whether they would -blam!- a woman if there were no consequences, only 13.6% of participants said they would do so, a marked fall on those who had described that they would commit -blam!-.
That’s about 12 people. Out of, from 2016 statistics, about a population of 14,648 students for University of North Dakota and 14,516 students from statistics of 2015. 30 people out of nearly 30,000 from two universities in North Dakota isn’t a ræpę culture. And on top of that, the key phrase is if nobody would know and a lack of consequences. Not only would many other people commit crimes under those conditions, but such conditions relatively rarely happen.

I agree our culture (along with every other culture on earth probably) does have a real issue with sexual assault and respect for women in general. But I’m not sure this argument really makes much sense. I’m sure if there was a survey asking people if they would steal if there was no consequences the results would be a lot higher. Does that mean we have a theft culture? A lot of people would do all sorts of terrible things if they thought they could get away with it. That’s not a cultural thing - that’s a human nature thing.

1 ReplyThe study was a fascinating read. What it was meant to highlight is the fact that a significant portion of men do not know what r@pe actually is. When describing behaviors, 30 some odd % said they would do it. When they were asked if they would r@pe a woman, the affirmative responses took a nose dive. This means that these guys should be taught what r@pe is so they do not f___ up other people’s lives as well as their own.

2 RepliesEdited by TTT084: 5/16/2018 2:31:23 AMWell that’s if there’s no consequences. There’s a lot of immoral and unlawful things people would do if they knew there wouldn’t be any bad consequences
-
Compare that to other crimes if there were no consequences, then we'll talk.
-
Some folks will do anything if there are no consequences. Take me for example, I would buy 1 ticket to the first showing of a movie, then just stay all day watching any movie I wanted to see. I would also walk behind the counter and help those slow ass folks out. People want to see that movie, not your slow popcorn buttering ass!! Ring them up, I will get their shit for them!

I don’t understand how someone could seriously say such a thing. I certainly wouldn’t go crazy doing terrible things just because there wouldn’t be any consequences.

Edited by Breach: 5/13/2018 4:18:27 AMIf there were no consequences to any action I would do a LOOOOTTTT of shit. We all would because we’d revert back to our primitive mindset of eat -blam!- sleep kill repeat.

Pretty sure there would be a lot of -blam!-ed up shit that would happen if it was "consequence free."
