And to instead focus on PvE fun first as a priority. I am so sick of update after update where the focus is on neutering the chaos in the game more and more for the sake of "balance" while killing the fun in PvE. Enough is what we say. Let the PvP balance burn for once and focus on making the PvE experience exciting, chaotic, and unique. Then after PvE is in a good spot, balance PvP without even touching or impacting PvE.

You can't be a master of both trades. They should pick one to master. From money stand point, pve is your far bigger audience. If you can keep them happy then they'll keep coming back. Pvp will keep coming back too if you keep them happy but there are far superior pvp games out there.

1 ReplyI told someone why Trials is this game's undoing almost, thoughts? (this was before tuesday): The need to use the god tier weapons and perk rolls 24/7 was never fully established until Trials had gotten going. The first week was the best week, there was no serious meta. Since then people found out how easy it is to avoid fights with sticky and bolt grenades (especially firebolt) and pre-detonating rockets, how abusive long-range shotguns can be with blink, how final round snipers one-shot people (and how nice it was with 3 shot mags), how to betray the intent of the Last Word with ADS spam of its damage bonuses, how OP buffed Thorn was, how easy skip grenade spam was, how easy fist and nova bomb of panic was, how good every type of pulse rifle at different points, how to cheat ammo with Ice breaker and Invective, how Machine Guns were OP ARs, it goes on. Power Creep in crucible became a serious issue after Trials came out, that's why everyone started hating crucible as a whole, then balances in favor of it started ruining the PvE experience, Ice Breaker became a chore to use, Truth was ruined as an exotic, Hand Cannons died because of one, Last Word sucks, and Machine Guns don't even exist anymore. Now we're stuck with 2 primaries that are weaker, every special is a heavy, burst side arms are near OP, Rockets reign over all other power weapons, and no one fights alone anymore without rockets because team-shot is vastly superior to anything in the game, even supers. Those problems are even more enhanced by forever 4v4 and MIDA being the most solid gun people can never let go of in Trials. Destiny 2 was built around Crucible changes and ultimately ruined the experience for everyone, how is Trials in no ways responsible when it catalyzed everything?

D2's pvp, as a shooter, is the shittiest i've ever seen. It has a slow ttk and slow health regen which makes anything more than a single kill unlikely. Due to this, team shot is legit the only strategy to win which takes away the ability to make individual plays and generally feel powerful like other shooters. Guns arent very well balanced and dont really have a distinct purpose. Think back to halo ce. There was magnum for mid range, ar/pr for close range, sniper for long range, other guns for special situations. Here, guns dont have that special feel to them. Of course hand cannon is for close and scout for long but its not to the point where you have a gun for each engagement like good shooters. On that, the removal of primary/secondary/heavy layout really -blam!-ed this element of purpose. Dont feel powerful like I should after hours of grind. Supers arent as meaningful in that they are too powerful. People end up just running from you when you activate it. Supers should have more skill involved to make it possible to challenge them but also enjoyable to use in that super turns into a game of hide and seek.

15 RepliesNah. That’s wrong. PvP (Trials) is what kept this game alive towards the end of Destiny 1’s life span. Let’s not prioritize anything. How about splitting up the sand boxes so both sides can be treated equally? Sound fun? Yeah? Ok good. Good talk.

5 RepliesHonestly wish they could/would balance PVE and PVP separately. I guess they could but don't want to?
-
1 ReplyWhat if they separate both? Anyways in my opinion the pve replayability is real bad so bungie need to fix that too
-
10 RepliesObviously, PVP is the most important part of Destiny and Destiny 2. Without it, the game never would have existed. Screw the boring, useless, 1-time PVE content that I could complete blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back. Focus on PVP balance by way of the TOP % of people who know and love the game -- those who want to see it improve. PVP>PVE 200%, and anyone who says otherwise is either 50 years old, or morbidly -blam!- in their brain.
-
7 RepliesHow the hell is pve chaotic and entertaining? The same weak ai enemies following set paths and giving you 100 ways to kill them? Pvp is the only fun thing in the game .... -blam!- your lame ass public events!
-
They should have separate teams and systems to work on both PvE and PvP in parallel, without affecting each other. Whoever was in charge of creating this intertwined and disorganised system should have been fired and replaced with someone with much better common sense (it's not even about intelligence here).

4 RepliesPower in PvE cannot exist with Fairness in PvP. If you played Destiny 1 you learned this lesson for three years. Delete Crucible
-
Amen! PvP wimps need to f*** off. So tired of their whining ruining the game for us PvE people.
-
4 RepliesTake your no skill filthy casual crap elsewhere. PvPers ruin stuff for you boo-hoo. I only went hardcore pvp in D1, due to all the random crap i need a fireteam for. Thankfully i got good because of this.
till they fix pvp in this game, fortnite is where its at. Also shall i post you epics wonderful long ass patch note list? Thats just for this week
2 RepliesIf a PvP match it's outcome is predetermined by how many players on each team have a particular gun, than that gun isn't good for the quality of PvP no matter how you put it. I'll add to this by saying this game is both pve and PvP. It's needs to be fun for all players, not just one type.
-
1 ReplyYou don't have to ruin an entire game mode so you can kill mobs with slightly better effeciency PVP is a fun change of pace, and good for loot
-
1 ReplyBut they gotta keep that 10% player base happy, even if it means alienating the other 90%.
-
59 RepliesEdited by Prince Ice Blaze Winters: 12/6/2017 1:06:56 AMwhat's funny is, is destiny is marketed as a pve game and the selling point is pve. But you have crybabies, like all of those in the comments, who want nothing but pvp. And instead of playing pvp based games (overwatch, battlefront, cod, battlefield), they'd rather be a blight in gaming and try to force pve games or single player games into pvp based garbage. All the crybabies in the comments are the reason destiny is the way it is, because bungie caters to all of them, while screwing us pve players over.
-
Ummm what balance lol, every match is a blowout ...
-
Lol pretending PvE is the reason you don't want it "nerfed" is laughable at best.
-
You figure with static weapons it would of been working properly but 4 years later and we still nerf sh*t. Can we please leave pre alpha test and get a finished game? Every other publisher gives atleast a 60% finished game.
-
Edited by drvankmen: 12/7/2017 5:38:53 PMI felt pvp was at its best when it was the most unbalanced. The game mode didnt try to be anything than what it was. A place to try out new weapons and have some laughs.

Well I'm pretty sure in the bungie podcast the phrase "PvP is the pinnacle of Destiny 2" was said. It's a bit frustrating as the game is sold to everyone as more of a PvE experience. I just wish they would clarify. Are they going for a Halo/CoD type game? With a general campaign and then the rest of the game is PvP stuff? Honestly, I don't need another Halo or CoD type game, I wanted an amazing, long lasting console PvE experience. PvP is the cheapest way to make "content". It's fine if they want PvP to dominate this game, just say it and stop leading people on about the PvE experience.
-
Lol what pve? You say this as if pve is a great challenge that takes hours and hours to do, not to mention that pve wise there is shit to do, in other words there is barely anything to do. All there is to do are strikes, nightfall, public events, and 1 raid. Wow yep pve definitely has a lot to offer
And to instead focus on PvE fun first as a priority. I am so sick of update after update where the focus is on neutering the chaos in the game more and more for the sake of "balance" while killing the fun in PvE.
After obtaining the 'milestone' of finishing a couple of quickmatch events, I pretty much clocked the PVE for what it was: 4 vs. 4?!? I guess I'm so used to playing 32 vs. 32 a la Battlefield 4 or Verdun (all on PC) but 4v4 with some Titans having a layer of shields that takes about 2-3 clips to kill them makes for a weird experience. My level (25) and power (272) may not be much, but I'm surprised how sometimes it literally takes multiple clips just to finish off 1 character. I still enjoy the PVE aspect of this game but like playing infinite rounds of Conquest on Battlefield games, the public events and many other PVE aspects of this game will eventually bore me to high hells sooner or later.

2 RepliesWow 765 people already have Prometheus Lens? Dang

Should they listen to the 1.5 million or the 400k 🤔 “Balancing” has led this game to the terrible state it’s in currently and doing the same things while expecting different results is the definition of insanity so we’ll see if bungo is smart enough to learn from their mistakes or will they keep nerfing the fun out of the game for these crucible cry babies
