Who is not happy with time limit on nightfall?

I may be alone in this subject but nightfall use to fun. You could take your time and progress with a group of friends talking and having a good time. Now it feels more like a job and a rush job with some modifiers. I hope bungie can add in the next few patches to remove the time limit or at least make it where it is not a rush job. If bungie wants us to stay around, they need to make things like nightfall more enjoyable. Edit: Thank you guardian's for all your input. It is great to see so many new ideas to make the NF more fun. It is also nice to see many of you being polite about it and not so negative on a post.

  • Timer sucks. It's lame. No fun. I used to do do nightfall all the time in D1. I've done about 3 or 4 in D2. It just isn't fun to do.

      • 1. This isn't Super Mario World, and I'm not into time trials. This would be an interesting competitive mode, I guess, but shouldn't be forced on players. Luckily it's not. I mean why do it? You're not getting anything special from it, other than the clan reward which I guess is nice, but no better than any other random purple drop. 2. There's no in-game reality justification for it. Literally in this game universe, they get sent on a mission and suddenly a clock starts ticking that can randomly add time to...or not...and if the time runs out they have to start the mission over again. In D1, the difficulty modifiers at least were believable. More believable than a magic clock that exists nowhere else in the game. There's just no logic for it in the game.

        • The timer on Night Fall sucks sooooooo much I don't have the words to describe it. The worst thing Bungie did in D2.

          Yeah -blam!- the timer off but I wanna know where strike scoring went? That got me back into strikes after probs nearly a year without grinding them (aside for the grasp farm). I hear more posts about the timer than strike scoring but if the timer was removed the NF would legit make me go to sleep. There needs to be something else like burns etc to make it a challenge and interesting

        • Timer sucks. D2 just sucks. The game is more vanilla than vanilla d1. It lacks everywhere. I was promised a story mode twice.(d1 and d2) Each time, I get a vague attempt at a story. Right nightfall timers. Nightfall rewards suck. The nightfall itself sucks. The nightfall timer is just a garbage artificial difficulty modifier because bungo is too dumb to make a good or decent game.

        • Nightfalls don’t feel any sort of challenge any more, and a timer does nothing to make it more of a challenge. I fondly remember Phogoth nightfalls with arc burn, the first rune door bit with all the wizards firing the arc death rays, having to run backwards after the rest of the fire team gets downed, then slowly picking off the wizards one by one to get back and revive your team. Great times! And now I come to think of it that one encounter was more fun and more of a challenge than anything I encountered in D2. The fact you can have numerous team wipes in a D2 nightfall, as long as you beat the timer says it all. Can’t believe they even call it a nightfall. .

          • Can be bothersome especially the chubby vandal strike (who disappears frequently ugh) lol. Besides that, it's manageable with the right loadouts and coordination. I kinda miss the tension feeling for doing nightfalls though. *PTSD from Omnigul with arc burn and lightswitch*

          • I hate it. I'd prefer being sent back to orbit on wipe than this speed run crap. Besides, what's the point? There's no strike-specific loot or anything. Anything I get from the Nightfall, aside from the XP Boost Aura, I can get from completing any of the other Milestones.

          • Adding timers is the laziest, cheapest means of generating 'challenge'. Rather than, I don't know, improving the AI, coming up with creative environmental challenges, etc.. just add a stupid clock.

            • Yeah, it's just lazy ass game design. Now maybe if you were Sparrow racing I could see why timers are implemented, but not as an artificial difficulty for a nightfall.

              • I disagree, the timer is what motivated me to learn what makes the nightfall tick and to invent new strategies of beating each area. Im actually super thankful of the timer system and hope it sticks around for the next 3 years.

                • I agree. I had more fun with out the time limit. I appreciate Bungie for trying something new but my clanmates and I have said various times it would be more fun without the time limit even if the enemies were harder to compensate for the drop in difficulty.

                • I know I should be playing this game with 'friends' but I used to love doing the nightfall solo. Working out what build to use and what tactics were best was half the fun. The timer was there in the end but you didnt have to use it and you could go at your own pace.

                • In the original Destiny I cannot tell you how many times my Fireteam hit Plan Z before we beat the strike...... I agree that the stupid time limit just makes it no fun, the constant looking for hoops, or targets to expand limit, is a concentration breaker for me.....90% of the time I don't even look at my hud, my teammates tell me of my impending death..... adding a clock....well....I don't even look at real life time when I play...why the hell would I pay attention to it in game. The pubic events just end for me....."Oh...no more targets....must be over now!" Not to mention the stupid as hell "MUST SPRINT TO HEAL" modifier, Eff you Bungie! I do not stand still by any means...but TITANS DO NOT RUN!!! We take a beating and get back up damnitt! I am all about armor and health regen, NOT mobility...bah....
