That's coz people kept misusing it. It's true. I'm not gonna defend Bungie, but man, people really don't know how data should be interpreted. It was a single chart displaying a single set of data. Daily active players is a useless statistic in a game where most players bought the game in the first 2 weeks and hit the soft cap right away. Now that players are mostly after the weekly milestones, there's no need to play every single day. You can do it all in just one. A more believable statistic would be to count the number of unique logins PER WEEK and compare with a game that's structured similarly to Destiny. Edit: Geez, kids, please read a 2nd time before commenting. I'm not defending D2. Just trying to be your friendly neighborhood scientist who wants to teach about the proper use of data. Edit 2: I also think that aside from the incentive to play just once or twice a week, daily logins are decreasing due to lack of interest. Should I have started my comment with that? Just trying to be that guy who wants to encourage healthy and civil discussions and teach y'all a science thing or two, that's all. ✌ Final edit: I'm done with this thead.
