Luke smith says static rolls were the right decision.

They really are out of touch, no wonder the game's dying.

  • SoI've completed the campaign reached level 20 light level approximately 250. Not certain in that High % of level capped or not. (is it level no. or light level??) There is simply not enough loot content in Destiny 2 to strive for. It's still a binary choice between A or B per tier Bungie If I'm only wanting to play one character class there should be enough loot for one class to not be A or B or an AB hybrid.

    Static rolls are better, but Bungie didn't add in enough weapons to make up for the loss of each "random roll" potentially feeling different. They also completely botched the chance of the Mod System making up for the lost RNG. Why are mods that buff weapons stuck to being applied to armor? Why do we only get a single mod slot? Why are the mods in general so underwhelming?

      • My whole point was this, it lacks content. So why are you going to take away non static rolls on weapons/gear? That gives us another reason to play/farm until they release more content. In iron banner I got 5 of the same titan chest pieces, nothing different on each drop, So for you guys who say static rolls are good that’s cool, but I’m not satisfied with getting the same drops with no variation at all. To each is own. The farming/drops are worse than Destiny 1, doesn’t increase playability.

      • Static rolls are a great choice... IF you have a in-depth mod system. Sorry, but I don't think swapping elemental damage would pass as "in-depth". Honestly, if players had more control and customizations available to them, we'd have more than just MIDA / Uriel'f Gift. Will there ever be a weapon equal to the beast I had in D1... explo rounds, firefly, damage control? Probably not... Bungie literally took the fun out of a game.

        • I like that everyone gets the same opportunity to use all weapon perks. I don't like the lack of diversity or the fact that there's no weapon/perk progression.

        • How many damn sniper rifles do I need to get from exotic engrams? Now if they were all sniper rifles with different rolls each time, that’s a different damn story. Opening an engram isn’t fun or surprising any more!

        • In a loot based game where you want us to farm everything , that makes absolutely no sense at all. It’s not like it’s full of content, they could have kept that option open for us. Static rolls are boring.

        • Why are they feigning surprise? It's kind of the point, reaching the endgame and level cap. They must have known how people would grind and how quickly the cap would be reached and how quickly the grind would become stale. Why say they're only now thinking "what is there to do once you're at that point?"?

          • I actually agree with him on this point. God rolls make balance virtually unachievable. What I'd rather have is a stronger class of end game weapons. Weapons from trials, the raid, and IB, (and nightfall/strike specific) weapons should have better base stats and more complimentary perks than the general loot pool. I'm thinking VoG weapons and HoW trials weapons. Combine this with lower drop rates, and you have a grind for worthwhile/sttonger rewards while maintaining balance.

                • I think it's alright to have a pool of weapons with static perks, but not all of them. It also sucks that the armor is static. If you want certain numbers on armor, you have to mix and match or find a set that works. So LAME. It makes you wonder if they even play the game or have any clue what kept us playing. They should have made weapons that were PVE oriented. More damage for 10 secs after killing a cabal.. etc.
