No end game no fun

So I'm 305 with all 3 of my characters and I have everything I want pretty much. I'm not chasing after anything and I have had lots of fun playing with my friends. I did get my money's worth with the game. Yes it's better than D1 and has improved in many ways but has failed in others. I got everything I wanted in the first month of the game and now I have no reason to keep playing. Yes part of my problem is that I blitzed thro it very fast and got burnt but..with D1 I never felt like I was done especially so fast into its life. I understand that bungie wants more people to play and has gone casual. No problem with it. My issue is that they gutted so much of what made D1 fun that I feel like the next DLCs are not going to hold me any longer than 2 weeks if I'm honest. I play everyday and I go through things fast because I love Destiny. If they don't add a reason to play I think I won't continue because there will be other games coming out that will offer what destiny has. Black desert and monster hunter come to mind. Lots to do and a real end game. I make this post just to get my thoughts and opinions out.

  • If you’ve done everything the game has to offer you at this point it’s fine to put it down. No game is designed to be played for forever, despite what some may think. Hopefully you enjoyed your time and that the game will have something to offer you in the future.

        • Remove Nightfall timer, add unique bosses, that only exists in the Nightfall version of a Strike with some extra mechanics for extra challenge. Put some extra rewards, like unique mods to replace the non existent random rolls on weapons. Put some secrets that can start a nice quest for some powerful Exotic, where you need to solve some other secrets in the Prestige version of a Nightfall. Bring some World Bosses, unique to each planet/moon that spawn random every 2 hours and need like 10 players to be killed, with unique loot table, so planets/moons could be more worth to visit for High-End players. Support the Raids better with more unique and strong rewards, use more secrets for Raids, and more bosses, creatures. So many areas, but same enemies over and over again, more models, creatures, the game needs some crazy beasts and creatures that only the most powerful Guardians can kill. More wild animals, more npcs, more vehicles. Give the player the picture that the game just starts with End-Game! We also need more interactions with the world, move your creativity to the limits, you created such beautiful areas, with great sound and music, they deserve more than just emty space!

            • Ok, let's run some numbers. Destiny 2 has been out for mmmm, roughly 840 hours. Wasted on Destiny says that yourfacecuz51 has 272 hours. You've spent approximately 32 percent of the last month and 5 days playing Destiny. At least you yourself have admitted you run through games fast. Still, that's a substantial amount of play time. And no, I don't think D2 is perfectly perfect, let's get that clear right away. But we're not having the right conversations. There's plenty of 'things to do" for the $60 price, pound for pound much more so than many $60 shooters out there. It's not a developer's fault that a lot of gamers don't understand moderation. You don't go out with your friends, hit McDonald's, stuff your whole meal in your mouth while your friends have barely started on their food, then look at them like they have the problem while also telling the manager that if they don't give you more food you're going to Burger King.... do you?

                • Same. Was sick like a dog all weekend so patrol / planetary farming was all pretty much all I could do... was real fun just dancing next to the vendors waiting for level-up engrams to turn 300 every 30 mins or so... On the plus side, got plenty of rest and git shit done around the house, all while "playing" Destiny 2! All 30x weapons slots are 305. And about half of what is in my vault. Which is pretty much 90% of all the "vanilla" legendaries in the game. Have 6x complete armour sets at 305. Have all Titan Exotic Armor (just play that one character) All I'm really missing at this point is Sweet Business, which refuses to drop while I get 20+ prospectors, merciless or AC/DC feedback fences... no big deal. Xur is bound to sell it at some point... But loot / progression wise, I'm pretty much done... even Powerful engrams / weekly rewards are now pretty much useless now. Saying that Toilet of The Nine is not my cup of tea is the euphemism of the decade. So Trying to get the Raid done with clan mates (more of a scheduling challenge than anything) and getting a Prestige nightfall done eventually are now really the only reasons I have to play / log on after each reset... Good job Bungie... good job...

                  • They release small bits of content at a moderate/fast pace, you do it multiple times enough to get bored and demand more ASAP. They release "bigger" amounts of content over a longer period of time, you blow through it too fast and STILL demand more ASAP. There's just no pleasing this former shell of a community.

                    • First, kudos to you for admitting you more than got your money worth out of D2. This separates you from the entitled ones. So let's look at your particular situation. As of 09-Oct-2017, you had 272 total hours playing D2. D2 released on 06-Sep-2017, so it has been out 33 days. 272 divided by 33 equals 8.2 hours of playing per day. WOW! I'm envious of your time to play, but it seems unrealistic for Bungie to create content to satisfy an 8 hour a day player. It's more than amazing that D2 lasted you this long. If you would cut down to 3 hours a day (your daily D1 playing time average over 3 years), the endgame that exists in D2 would have potentially got you much closer to the DLC drop. So basically D2 has a lengthy endgame for most - you just devoured it in a very short amount of time.

                      • Money's worth is GTA V. Years and years of play and still new content added to keep it going. A month play time is outright pathetic for bungie. They should unlock all hidden DLC so we can play for a extra week. :)

                          • I understand what you're saying, but D2's end game is in a much better place than D1's was at launch. I do agree, they need to make the game worth playing more. However, as you said they're trying to make the game more casual, which is the problem. They need to bring back the hardcore content. Make the raid harder, give us more to get from the raid, and just in general, make the game grindier

If you play Destiny 2 like a job then yea, you're probably going to run out of things to do. Thank goodness for the Witcher 1-3(+GWENT), Red Dead+Undead Nightmare, Assassin's Creed(all), and Uncharted: TLL. So many games, so little time dammit!

The raid was one of the best things Destiny had going for it. It's a hard activity that takes a a couple hours to complete. Combine that with doing it 3 times a week and youve got a decent following and that doesn't even include the milestones. Yet since Bungie is too afraid to make raid weapons strong, and their odd choices of all mechanics, no checkpoints combined with other things make the raid not enough fun or incentive to do it

                              • Most of the raid guns are trash... the rocket is the only good one all of the trials guns are trash, assualt rilfe goes hard though. I have all the "end game guns" what now? wtf do i do now? im going to raid tonight then im done for the week lol, im not even going to make a Hunter because i dont see the point right now.. my warlock and titan get boring enough doing everything twice.. let alone 3 times.

                              • Well, I hate to burst everyone's bubble here but D2 is the way it is now because so many ppl posted and tweeted and vloged it was too unfair. I never got this exotic, I never got those rolls, it never drops for me, nerf this buff that. They heard all the ppl complaining about "the grind" and how it sucked. Not the higher lvl or higher light grind. But the finding the perfect roll, finding that exotic. And trust me everyone's perfect roll is different. So it's not bungie fault. It's ours. In the sense we rarely thanked them or showed gratitude because we never thought that, that mechanic would go away. I could go on but, I'm okay for now.

                                • I think the issue is D1 was very demanding in order to progress you had to play often and hard to get the best the game had to offer. D2 on the other hand is not. You can literally play at your own pace and not fall too far behind if at all. It's much more about hopping in shooting shit with friends and getting back to you life as scheduled. A lot of players liked the dedication and passion needed (grind) of D1, others not so much. So what does Bungie do? How do you balance a game for both casual and hardcore gamers alike? How do you make a game for everyone? The answer is you don't. You have to find your niche and stick with it or you will ALWAYS have a toxic and divided community playing tug of war over how the game should or shouldn't be.
