Exotics need to Feel exotic
Does anyone remember the first time they got their gjallarhorn? Immediately your reaction was throw your headset, drop your controller, and start screaming, running around your room yelling "I got the F***ING gjallarhorn!" While the people in your party could hear you half way across the world. Do you know why your reaction was like this? Because it was such a phenomenal weapon, that MADE you grind to get it.
I'm not saying that an exotic should be as good as gjallarhorn, but there hasn't even been an exotic in the game that I've been that excited to get. I know that the game is new, but none of the exotics you get are all that rewarding.
It's also insane how easy exotics are to get. Within the first 2-3 days of the games release I had gotten the achievement for obtaining 15 exotics, and I kinda thought to myself ".....already?...." and now I have every exotic that I can get. (Excluding warlock and titan because I haven't made either yet.)
DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?!

You could buy gally from Xur the first time he showed up. It didn't make you grind. That was Thorn.

Well, I felt that way when I got Merciless. Basically the D2 Gally. Not really for anything else. Closest thing was probably when I got the Skyburner's Oath, I was like, "Oh... Cool." Then I never used it.

xur sold it when the game was about done so one of my friends bought it as he hasnt recieved it yet and we just informed that his ghallahorn has the xur sticker on it.

No. I can't subscribe to this. This community can barely be trusted to decide what they want Destiny to be. This community literally sabotages itself when it comes down to the grind, exotics and their overall power, pvp balance and thereby pve balance.

"Does anyone remember the first time they got their gjallarhorn?" Yes. It was after over 1545 active play time hours, 100+ VOG, 100+ Crota, 100+ Nightfalls etc. At Crota raid Deathsinger. Funnily enough my heavy slot was full so it actually went to the postmaster. I didn't really believe it until we loaded back into the tower and I collected it from the postmaster. I agree that a. exotics hardly feel "special". and b. exotics now drop very often. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

7 RepliesHeres an Example of why this post is utterly pointless : MIDA Multi tool. Has its vanilla D1 Setup back (Yes!!!!) High Caliber Rounds and Radar! Thank you!! But in D2 they gave it. Another Exotic Perk that if used with a specific weapon (MiniTool) you have a Speed Boost. Well there you go, an actual Exotic that does feel exotic. It is in no way OP as everyone claims. BUT because you have this amazing Exotic.... PVP CRYERS WANT IT NERFED!! Thats why we dont have Exotics that have that actual exotic feel.

When I got my gjallahorn all year one weapons were not allowed to be used anymore.

I'm going to need bungie to stop listening to the people who yell "NERF" without stating a very good reason on why it should be nerfed. I have seen a lot of ways you can beat someone who is using Mida for it to be nerfed, again.

1 ReplyThis are all if the exotics I’ve gotten that “feel” exotic Sweet Business Sunshot Riskrunner Coldheart Merciless Tractor Cannon Wardcliff coil Raiden flux Celestial knighthawk Orpheus rig (Mostly play hunter, and haven’t gotten all exotics yet) While not all the exotics feel special, I wouldn’t say none of them feel exotic.

Is it bad that when I got the ghorn back in house of wolves from the level 28 prison chest I didn't feel as overwhelmed as I should've been because I didn't understand its power? Lol

1 ReplyThis could be solved so easily. Make exotics do insane amazing game/play style changing things. But only in pve. Have two perks a pvp perk and a pve perk. Those perks will toggle on and off based on the activity you are currently in basically the same way ghosts activate or deactivate the bonuses.

To me, a lot of exotics pair well with certain playstyles. Most of their strength is there, not in raw power

Exotics feel more like Augments now if anything else on the Armor side. Weapons represent the extreme sides Legendaries act as a blueprint for.
