Why on earth is there no matchmaking for Nightfalls?
Not sure what is happening, but I am trying to join the queue to do the weekly nightfall and it keeps sending me into the nightfall solo. 10 times and counting.
Meanwhile I see other fire teams running the same events of the nightfall and they are clearly not having the same issue getting groups as I am.

Never has been and there probably never will be. It's part of the "endgame content" which like the raid, does not have match making. The point of these activities is to have a lot of teamwork involved in order to finish them, which is best done in a fire team made by the player(s). Bungie has said similar things over the years.
