Is there any possibility the Xbox X version will run at 60fps in the future? I know the reason Bungie is holding back is because of the contract with Sony, thus it won't be available at launch.
Will it ever be in Destiny 2 or will we have to wait for Destiny 3?

1 ReplyCan we stop doing this? Sony is not holding the Xbox one X version to ransom. Just saying it makes it seem so stupid. I honestly can't believe people still think this. Or simply put just get the PC version. If performance and fps is so important why do want to play it on consoles anyway? If you can afford a Scorpio then I'm pretty sure you buy a decent PC that will run the game at 60 fps. Just saying.

The reason that consoles are going to run at 30 fps is because the base consoles doesn't have enough cpu power to render all the enemies on the screen, enemy behavior, networking as well as the bast open spaces of the map. Because players on consoles of the same family (PS4-PS4 Pro) can play together Bungie has decided to not give any console the fps advantage (To not have a repeat of what happened to battlefield 1). I believe that people are going to start saying that base consoles are holding the updated consoles behind and we are going to have a PS3-Xbox 360 situation all over again.

2 RepliesEdited by Ateron: 8/31/2017 1:18:59 PMNone. The xbox X cpu is the exact same jaguar that's inside ps4, pro, and xbox one. The pro has a slightly overclocked version of OG ps4, and the same goes for the X, which has a slight bump over the pro's cpu. It has 200mhz more and that's it. Jaguar is a trash tier cpu and, for once, I believe a dev who says it can't be done cause of it. The delta in performance between pro and X is not enough to reach 60 fps. At the end of the day is just a slighlty faster version of something slow and old. There are obvious comparisons being drawn to BF1 (I'm surprised no one pulled that one yet) but the truth is that Battlefields are games running on an engine optimized for 60 fps, and while they boast destructible environments, amazing graphics and 64 player counts, there are no AIs to run. It's relatively easy to keep track of every human player on the match, as opposed to a horde of 20-30 independent AIs and instances all happening at once. The physics, destruction and projectile calculations are ALL done server side by Dice. That's the benefit of dedicated servers, as opposed to shitty P2P connection on a game that is trying so hard to be an e-sport. IF destiny 2 had dedicated servers, I believe this 60fps target could easily be reached as well. I've read a developer say as much, but I can't find the quote so take it with a grain of salt. Still, what's their excuse for no 60fps pvp? Small maps, no AIs, no destruction, 8 players? Is this 1999? Even the og consoles could easily run it. They keep deflecting the matter because we all know their excuses are see-through and don't make any sense, so they just avoid them altogether. So no, the jaguar on the X has only a very very slight bump and it's not enough for 60. IF a game is running 50-55 on pro, it will be more than enough to ensure a rock solid locked 60 on the X. But don't expect miracles coming forward. Wait for next generation AMD apus, come 2019, maybe a combo Vega/Ryzen cpu with 10-12 TF. That's when the real next gen bump starts.

2 RepliesLearn the difference between GPU and CPU and then maybe you'll begin to understand why they can't make the game 60fps on consoles. You can play on PC and get up to 100fps if thats what matters to you. Ive already played an extensive amount of the beta on PS4 and PC and other than the game running smoother on PC the gameplay doesn't change at all, still feels like destiny on both platforms.

2 RepliesIf you honestly believe the reason the XB1X isn't going to run at 60fps is because of Sony. You honestly need to stop gaming. FYI the XB1X is only 10% more powerful than the pro.

1 Replyafter messing around with the pc beta, I honestly don't see why the ps4 pro and xbone x couldnt hit 60 fps. I know the cpu is "supposed" to be the bottleneck, but I was playing the beta at 60+ fps using an athlon x4 860k and a gtx 950 on medium-high settings. given the fact that this cpu is slow compared to even the ps4 pro's cpu, (which is overclocked as well btw) and the gtx 950 is only half as fast as the ps4 pro's gpu, I honestly don't see what would be holding it back. just wanted to mention, I went from the pc beta back to destiny 1 and it felt unplayable at the 30 fps frame cap. hopefully the "next generation consoles" that come after the ps4 and xbox one will make 60 fps the standard for consoles.

Edited by drackiller: 8/31/2017 1:34:57 PMNo because Sony has the exclusives for PS4, and because PS4 wont have 60 fps the Xbox wont have it either. Wish sounds ironic. Just jocking.

Nope. Won't happen.

if sony even lets bungie run xbox X at 4k, id be surprised.

7 RepliesNo its because of the xbox one S. Quit trying to make it all Sony's fault.

1 ReplyWhy not just play on pc?
-
1 ReplyIt doesn't run at 60 FPS on PS4 either. It has nothing to do with Sony lol

3 RepliesJust curious. Is there a competitive advantage to having 60 FPS over lower frame rates?
