There is no hate, no hype, just reality.
I played D1 from Beta and I've a lot spent hours grinding, discovering, being frustrated but ultimately enjoying it.
I hope D2 will build on the foundation that are in place and allow it to grow.
Over the last few years me and my family have grown. I've also been climbing the career ladder.
In between working and kids activities I find my free is a very rare thing.
I have no regrets. I feel I would not enjoy the experience by playing an hour or two a week.
Good luck to all those continuing the journey and enjoy it.

I'm aware you might not have the time you used to; having a family. But this post shows that you want to continue. Or perhaps you're using those 1-2 hrs of free time to shitpost & seek attention.
See you in Destiny 2 ;-)
really bro .. like your mr destiny.. Who cares really..... whether your playing or not....

21 RepliesWhy do people keep feeling the need to let everyone know they're not going to play D2... Seriously who cares? Tell your roommate, tell your clan, tell your mom, that makes sense. Why tell a bunch of strangers? Do you yell out across the mall when you decide not to buy that shirt?

Another break up letter. Well good luck to you anyway. Family time is always better than games. Enjoy the kids while they are young. Time flies.
-
Picking it up next week. Might not play it much but picking it up. Just because.

Bye Felecia! Here, have a downvote.

1 ReplyI just cancelled my pre-order... After hearing that you won't be playing I'm just too devastated for games.

2 RepliesFamily is not more important than Destiny .

He bought 2 copies. 1 for him and 1 for his kids to share. Just here for some long over due attention and maybe a like or 2

Doubt it

Alright see you in destiny 2 when you inevitably realize that life without destiny is meaningless and proceed to abandon your family, quit your job, and set up residence in your mothers basements with your console of choice.

11 RepliesEdited by TeslaDoc: 8/28/2017 10:41:17 PMFor me it's not so much limited time as D1 itself. I have played and played D1 and for all it's warts I think I got my money's worth. I actually enjoyed the PvP despite the balancing issues throughout the lifetime of D1. But vanilla D1 was shipped with a broken and disjointed story that was obviously stitched together from at least two plot lines. These were Rasputin and the exo Stranger stories. Neither of their plot lines were adequately explored and neither plot line had anything to do with the other. If Rasputin did disable the Traveler (a very critical background detail) it should have come out in the vanilla story. If the exo Stranger was involved in the Vex or Hive story lines it should have been more obvious why in the vanilla story. And thanks for the relatively crappy gun, I can see why you wanted to get rid of it. Why did the exo Stranger drop out of the story completely after vanilla D1? Why did the Rasputin story lose so much steam in the DLC, even though he was obviously the best source of information about the backstory of the entire game? Aetheon, the vanilla D1 raid boss, had nothing to do with the vanilla (or DLC) D1 story. He wan't foreshadowed in the early story at all as far as I could tell. He was just tacked on at the end of vanilla D1. "Susan down in Boss Development has a big-ass Vex bullet sponge she's been working on. The Vex are in places in the story. Let's throw him in someplace. Don't worry about the platform he's standing on." "Let's release the raid after the game. It will confuse the reviewers and stop reviews being sent out until after the initial wave of buyers is over." Don't get me started on the conversations your character has with the Speaker. Massive opportunity to fill in so many important things in the story; massive fail. Your character had a few simple lines early on then went completely mute. C'mon, man! Who is this Xur guy? He's been around since vanilla D1 and we still know nothing about him. This might be ok for one character but we end up knowing practically nothing about many of the characters - which smacks of a pattern of developmental laziness. What is this ghost doing on behalf of the Traveler? I mean, what is it that we actually directly accomplish on behalf of the Traveler? Is it actually repairing itself? I guess that it still being there is good, right? We kill stuff - lots of stuff, that's good, right? There is no real success metric there. The ahamkara seem important somehow. We slaughtered them all. That's good, right? Unless it isn't good. As fun as Randal the Vandal was, I get the feeling that he was a mistake in creature placement that made it into the final release. Stacks of level 8 guardian corpses and worried looking ghosts floating around were the only plot elements he provided. The Tower factions seem important. What are their backstories? There are hints at discord and differing philosophies but nothing explicit. Why would I want to join one, other than grinding for stuff? I can quit and join them as I like but it doesn't seem to worry them. I guess they are not looking to grow their ranks. The grimoire was actually pretty cool but it should have been accessible in-game and should have been connected to at least a few cut scenes. It should have filled in many of the biggest plot holes at least. This screams laziness of the most craven kind. And now the damn grimoire has vanished!? The battles of the Six Fronts and Twilight Gap seem pretty important. What happened and what did they accomplish? What was the aftermath in each case? The Last City surviving is not an adequate answer. We killed a demigod and then a god in the DLC. Yet we are worried about the fallen for some reason. They are a beaten and pathetic race. All they really need is a swift kick and they will fall apart. It would have been nice to be able to punch the cryptarch in the face. Or at least set his pants on fire, but I digress. I want to see what the post release buzz is before I jump in to D2. EDIT: Spelling and grammar.

It is different playing 1-2 hours, but it is still worth it if you enjoy it. This game seems to be built to accommodate people with loads of free time and people with little free time. Not having the time to rush through the campain in 1 day can actually make the experience more enjoyable because you get to enjoy it multiple days, and you can be hyped through work to go home and finish it. I'm not you. I don't know every circumstance in your life. But I hope you choose to do what you want.

see ya 😂

9 RepliesGood for you but seriously, nobody here cares.

1 ReplyPlaying for an hour or 2 is still a decent enough time to get things done in game, and if you have a clan you can still reap some of the rewards when you can't play. Idk just my two cents.
-
No excuses, one weekend a month, two weeks a year, that was the deal!
-
Literally no one cares. I'm being real. I'm sorry. Just pointing it out.
-
um...ok?

See you in the farm soon.

But warlocks are still op tho

4 RepliesSorry sir but you will relapse

You'll still buy it. With work and a family you still have to have your "me" time. I'm in the same situation but when my kids go to bed early along with my wife and I have finished all my home projects then I love to sit and chill with some peeps online and pwn some alien scum.
-
Edited by jagerx: 8/29/2017 10:15:27 PMI keep saying there needs to be the ability to provide proof you have kids and you get some crazy 10x XP boost because you can only really game for a couple hours a week tops. Who still plays games that require the Destiny-level of grind anymore?

4 RepliesExcuse me random strangers of the Internet. I will/have purchased destiny 2 and will be playing it a lot. Now it's not that I don't like other games, I enjoy other games but I feel my time would be put to better use by playing destiny with my clan mates. Now my family isn't growing and I'm probably at the top of my game at work. My wife married a gamer and I'll be a gamer until my thumbs stop working. Anyway I'm glad I got that off my chest and told a load of random strangers what I'm going to be doing over the next few months.... Take care and enjoy life... (I wrote this while having a massive poo) 😉😉😉😉😉😉

Sorry for all the salt your getting.
