  • The Dark Below: Like 4 missions and 2 strikes. Pffffffff House of Wolves: The somewhat innovative Prison of Elders was pretty cool, the reef was alright, Skolas was the best three man encounter to date, and the stage was set for change with a more coherent story and etheric light system. Oh and Trials, which is still pretty divisive, even though I find it to be a fun competition. The Taken King: The Golden Age of Destiny 1, a great story with lots of missions, a super cool new destination, the best Destiny villain so far, the hardest, most complicated, and in my opinion most fun raid, a couple unique strikes, a totally revamped light system, greatly increased level cap, the introduction of distinguishable weapon manufacturers, some pretty creative exotics, an actual quest system, loads of new pvp game modes and maps, and more Rise of Iron: A cool, if slightly familiar raid, a few new strikes, revamped old location, an actually really cool social space, more cool story, even if it occasionally felt like a long side mission, lots of new pvp stuff, new weapons obviously, and probably more I'm missing. So obviously in my opinion The Taken King is the best, and I would be happy to argue anyone on that. The Taken King was an undeniably massive content offering and a total alteration to the Destiny experience that set it up to be the game it is today. I personally feel you have to have been a frequent year 1 player to understand just how much of an upgrade the Taken Ling was. Just so everyone knows, I haven't played Rise of Iron too much, so my opinion is a little less substantial. I played through the story, the raid on normal and hard, and the strikes, but that's about it.

  • HoW because the Fallen are a favorite enemy, and there were no Taken yet.

  • Oh god...what to choose? Uhhhhhh..... -blam!- it. All of em. I liked the dark below since it started giving the game some new life in its story telling. Plus Crota was one scary son of a bitch. House of Wolves was pretty good story wise for me. I did like the Fallen. The Taken king was both good and bad for me. It was good because it made substantial improvements on everything, but bad since the Taken got annoying to fight after a long time. But it did have good soundtrack! And Rise of Iron. I was a little disappointed with how they handled the iron lords, but overall satisfied. The SIVA theme was astounding. Medieval art style versus mechanical was amazing

  • taken king. -leveling system was completely revamped for the better, and the build up from 170 to 300 light was unforgettable. -crucible balance was as good as it has ever been throughout destiny 1 -best raid without a doubt -no skill based matchmaking (in the beginning at least) -quests were added -trials was fast paced and enjoyable

  • TTK just brought some all around good content, but the most fun I've had while playing was during HoW. All of my friends still played, he meta was pretty loose and didn't require a specific weapon, and most of us were still pretty nooby.

    • House of Wolves: -new gear -new exotics -new story missions -strike -prison of elders -both raids were still relevant -etheric light which you could use to upgrade old gear to current light level -new level cap -trials of osiris was introduced

House of wolves. It was pure, innocent fun that had some cool story ideas. It's just too bad that it didn't have a raid or a longer campaign. Ttk was awkward, and rise was trying to take itself way too seriously.

      • The Taken King. Best cinematic in D1. Coherent Story with an actual threatening villain. Infusion. Strikes became leagues above the Y1 strikes. A good, long raid. IDGAF what you say, nothing will be more badass then fighting a giant space deity with Saturn in the background. The characters all suddenly grew a personality too.

      • Taken king. Actually went with the darkness story. Book of sorrows was a lore orgasm. Good raid/missions. Oryx was a love/hate enemy. The only problem was the actual taken enemies. They were annoying. Rise of iron and house of wolves were my least favorite. I just want story about the darkness so I probably won't enjoy D2 as much since it focuses on the cabal trying to steal the light but then again it might tell more about the darkness so I'm not making any judgments right now

          • From a pure content standpoint, RoI was it for me. Bringing forward some of the most iconic Exotics, the most intriguing setting to date (for me, at least), vast improvements on an enemy that had become stale over time, my favorite raid, and of course the Age of Triumph event all combined to make RoI the best expansion. Sure TTK was great (thanks for Swords and Sleeper Simulant), but within the first three months of it I was already weary of the Taken (and even moreso the Hive). Rise of Iron managed to stay fresh for much longer.

          • The Taken King for actual content, but ROI by far for different avenues to power. ROI was just like "oh,I need to hit the forge for ghost/artifact...now I need crucible for high light weapons...now I need armir, better grind faction/vanguard rep...oh,here's IB..better hit that." Before ROI,it was just raid or nothing. I mean,I guess that April update with POE was fun for a bit,but still pretty limited.. ROI fell way,way short in content though.

            • As far as gameplay, I felt like the house of wolves had it best. Maybe matched only by the dawning in RoI. As for actual story, TTK did a pretty solid job, but I found the gameplay formula of grinding out strikes for a blue that was maybe 2-3 light levels higher than your current item that would give you maybe 70% of that benefit to be rather off putting. Enough so that it kind of ruined how I felt about working with infusion for the rest of the game.

            • Rise of Iron was by far the best content they have generated for this game. Anyone who thinks different is fooling themselves and needs to rethink their life. That is all.

              • Rise of Iron purely because of Felwinter Peak, the Seige Engine, and the soundtrack.
