The little info we got was they were hunted to extinction, they followed the traveler, and corrupted guardians. But to be honest, I just want to see more armor and lore.

They were wish granting eastern style dragons.. Guardians where going to them an wishing to be stronger.. But with each wish they dragons(I can't spell their name from memory) were getting stronger.. The Vanguard found out about these creature.. An forbid guardians to make wishes.. This didn't work.. So they placed a bountie on the dragons.. Guardians fought with them until they were believed extinct.. Using their magic bones to make weapons an armor.. Like bad juju an bones of eao.. Eventually guardians found more fragments of the dragons.. The knuckles of eao.. Having the strongest power of the dragons yet.. Using them they found that their luck at defeating powerful enemies would increase.. But upon using the knuckles they would hear a whisper in their ear.. Saying.. A debut would be paid in exchange... It was to late to turn back.. Those guardians had already made their wish.. And the dragons who may or may not still be around grow stronger with each one.. This!! This is lore!!! Bungie..This is a story.. This is something we need to know.. Are the greedy wishes we made from AoT going to have consequences? Or are you going to shove this story where the light dosnt shine too??

DurandalDensity - old
Don't expect any more information on them in Destiny 2, grimoire has been scrapped and most likely Luke Smith "Exited them effectively" -
3 RepliesIf Bungie totally abandoned the Stranger's story, then I don't really have high hopes that they'll do the Ahamkara justice in Destiny 2.
-
1 Reply"Uh oh", said the boy as he scooped up the shaker and furiously flavoured the otherwise bland dredge-meat, "needs more Ahamkara!".

We actually know a great deal, the only real mystery is their purpose This post has a collection of most of our info on them: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/222235440/0/0 But to paraphrase: Ever since the early days of the Hive the Ahamkara have seemed to follow the Traveler around. They were powerful enough to match the Hive gods until a certain point and they have unfathomable knowledge. They are known to trade information for things they desire but will often answer in unexpected ways; when in our system after the Collapse they drove many a Guardian insane or made them doubt the Light. After the Great Ahamakara Hunt was issued to stop the Ahamkara from disrupting us any further, their remains have exerted an odd ability to influence their bearers just as the Ahamkara's themselves has been able to manipulate others Some Ahamkara may still exist in our system, as rumors say thy can be spotted around Jupiter They also seem to understand the Light and Darkness far better than anything else in known existence

I'm hoping we find one hiding out somewhere and strike a deal with it to get our powers back.

1 ReplyIt would be cool if we get some quest from a random ghost... Like we find a dead ghost but it has just enough light to hang on and talk to us, begging us to help it bring back it's guardian before it dies. So we have to find gear of that old guardian... Coincidentally, its all gear with Ahamkara bones in it. Knuckles of eao, sealed ahamkara grasps, boots of eao, bad juju, etc. Then we assemble thebgear together, the ghost does its thing, and bam! There's Eao.

Pretty sure lore already stated that we killed off the remaining ahamkara because we feared their power. Then the nine proceeded to make exotics out of their bones. xD

Play skyrim mah dude
-
I want an exotic sword carved from the bone (winkie face) of one those dragon dudes
-
Yes! I want my entire hunter covered in armor reminiscent of the Dragonborn himself that whispers thoughts to me... oh bearer mine.

Consider the topic extinct. 😎

1 ReplyEdited by Piggyback: 6/20/2017 10:13:35 PMWhen we do eventually encounter the Ahamkara, whether it's the worm gods or otherwise, I really hope Bungie do a good job of representing them in-game. They're intelligent and very well spoken creatures. I've always pictured them being similar to Grigori in Dragons Dogma, maybe they'll take his character as inspiration.
-
Just think of them as dinosaurs.
THEY'RE DEAD
1 ReplyEdited by Piggyback: 6/19/2017 5:06:04 PMAhamkara are know to barter. If we don't get a dragon vendor in D2 I'll be disappointed.
-
10 RepliesEdited by Lull9: 6/21/2017 5:23:41 AMSorry, D1 is getting retconned. With the Ahamkaras they "wrapped up the arc" ...just like the Stranger. Lol... smh...
-
6 RepliesOk. And? Continue? the rest of your post? The purpose? Ideas? No? Ok.
-
3 RepliesJudging by what happened to the Stranger, probably not

3 RepliesUnknown to most, Ahamkara is one of the topics we have the most info about. There are many references to them in grimoir and flavor text. For example the long tomorrow 9g Titan helmet says that there are ahamkara near Jupiter. Reinforced by Legends 2 that says the nine are ancient leviathan creatures near Titan and Europa. These are paraphrased but feel free to look up the cards
-
The Ahamkara have been properly exited.
-
I doubt they know what an Ahamkara is at this point, seems to be the theme lately...
-
7 RepliesIf you look down near the rail in the tower, you should see something resembling either a large bird or a dragon
-
27 RepliesIf you patrol on Venus and look into the sky you might see a dragon flying. Make sure when you find it to look at it with a sniper.
and they said the amahkara was extinct
-
9 RepliesI hope they're all -blam!-ing extinct. That way I won't hear the "Worm Gods are actually Wyrm Gods" argument again.
