Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you live from New Meridian.. Again! I've been playing a lot of Skullgirls lately, okay? >:T
Anyway! After The Researcher (I think it was him/her..) made that "Bloodborne Healing Church Lore" thread, I remembered how much I love, love, love writing, and reading, video game theories/lore! Yes, even those ones that make next to no sense!
So, I made a thread! This thread has a few purposes.
1. Me writing down a bunch of theories/lore (mostly from Soulsborne, most likely)
2. You writing down a bunch of theories/lore
3. You asking me to write down a bunch of theories/lore
So, here we go!
Tl;dr? Here's my point!
Do you have a theory you want to share? Do you want me to explain my theory on something, if I know it? Do you want to read other peoples' theories? Well, here you are!
My answer:
I will be pondering the purpose of the Skull Heart, from Skullgirls.. When I get time! My lunch break's almost over, so I'll be editing this in, a bit later..
For now, have a nice gif I stole from Rhynerd! ^-^
http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/757/800/eff.gif
I don't think we have a lot of theorists on this forum, but I'm looking forward to reading your answers/answering your questions! :)
Edit: my theory;
"Legend speaks of an ancient artifact that can grant a woman's wish. However, if she is impure of heart, she will be twisted into an immensly powerful being of destruction.
The Skullgirl."
This bit of exposition is the only real lore we're given directly about the Skull Heart. But, before we analyze the Heart itself, I want to step back, and look at the wishes it's granted.
#1: Made by Annie's mother. Wished Annie can no longer age (or swear). Fate of wisher: ???
#2: Selene Contiello. Wished to save her family's life. Squigly was revived as a zombie, as was everyone nearby. Fate of wisher: Immediate transformation
#3: Parasoul's mother. Wished for world peace. Became the most powerful Skullgirl ever known, so the world had to fight her instead of eachother. Fate of wisher: immediate transformation.
#4: Marie. Wished revenge on the Medicis. Became a Skullgirl to exact her revenge. Fate: Skullgirl.
#5: Filia. Wished to turn Painwheel back to normal. Granted. Fate: Slow transformation.
#6: Parasoul. Wished to prevent Umbrella from becoming Skullgirl. Granted. Fate: Slow transformation.
#7: Valentine. Wished to become the Skullgirl. Granted. Fate: Immediate transformation.
Maybe that wasn't all of them, but it's enough. Most ofthose were actually pretty selfless/pure wishes, yet every single one resulted in a Skullgirl. Every wish is at least a little selfish by nature, after all. But evidently thr Skull Heart wants Skullgirls. Most Skullgirls mindlessly kill, and destroy, as evident by Leviathan's quote;
"[saving people is] rather curious behavior for a Skullgirl. Carnage would only swell the ranks of her undead army."
By extension, we can assume the Skull Heart wants destruction.. Which is curious, because let's take a step back, and look at Double's story.
Double is the Skullgirl's "attendant" so to speak. More often than not, she delivers the Heart to people she thinks will make good Skullgirls (called "Candidates") and gives them the Heart. Her story focuses on her "Masters" being upset at how long Marie is taking to carry out her wish, as once Marie's done she'll become a mindless slave of destructions. Double does the logical thing, goes, collects other Candidates, and puts Marie out of comission, replacing her with an unknown woman at the end. Here's the interesting part; we also learn who these Masters are.
Aeon, and Venus. The goddesses of time, and space. Double posing as a nun isn't really posing. She's literally a servant of the goddesses, as is the Skull Heart, and by extension, any Skullgirl.
The gods want the world destroyed. Why?
Well, up until now, everything's been pre-DLC, but two DLC in particular gave us some insight here. Eliza, and Robo-Fortune.
Let's go to Robo-Fortune first. With a joke campaign, they decided to blatantly say a major plot point, as noted on by Robo-Fortune, who states "Also, did you just give away a major plot point?"
"I accepted the Skull Heart in hopes of challenging a world run through with corruption, but it is part of an even greater monster that binds me to its will. The only purpose of this so called artifact, is to spread death."
Which we established. Now, onto the second DLC. Eliza.
Here's where things get interesting.
"I even considered [Samson] a friend, but that was a long, long time ago.. Before there even was a Skull Heart." -Leviathan.
"I've....Found....You...." -The Skull Heart, to Eliza
"You killed them! Aeon! Venus! My daughters! You murdered them! You destroyed my kingdom!" -Double, to Eliza
These three quotes paint a picture.
1. The Skull Heart didn't always exist
2. The Skull Heart was looking for Eliza
3. The goddesses can be killed.
4. Eliza killed them in her timeline.
Let me throw the first theory at you now; the Skull Heart was made to kill Eliza, and theoretically, by destroying everything else they're bound to hit her eventually, right?
However, it's the second theory that interests me more. While Eliza was a target, what if its real goal is to "discard" a world that's no longer necessary?
We see Aeon & Venus existing on a higher plane. It'd be kind of unreasonable to say Eliza killed them there, because it seems to be almost completely disconnected. I think by "kill" it means their physical forms were destroyed, but their spirits still exist, thus why the world doesn't cease to exist.
We know Skullgirls exists in a multi-timeline universe, so perhaps Aeon, Venus and Lamia exist in every one, but once they die, that timeline is thus considered useless, and a Skull Heart appears (possibly along with Double) to discard the world, to make way for a new timeline.
This next bit is speculation, but does anyone else find it strange that a being exists that can kill the goddesses? They made the world after all? Given that Aeon is seen literally playing Skullgirls what if they (or at least Aeon) possibly just see it as a game? And what fun is a game that's too easy?
I find the idea that Aeon might make (make as in allow to exist) incredibly powerful beings like Eliza specifically for the purpose of killimg them, to see if they can overcome this new obstacle.
As I said that last bit is really just speculation, but I did say theory. :p
1 ReplyMy theory is from Dark Souls 3 Aldrich, lord of Cinder, also known as the devourer of gods. I truly think he devoured Gravelord Nito. Why? Look at Aldrich's weapon. The blade is literally the same as Nitos. Not to mention his twisted body kinda looks like Nito's as well just in a different shape. I know we killed Nito in DS1 but anything is possible in the Souls universe. It's not the first time characters have shown up multiple times. Plus the whole "time is convoluted" thing

13 RepliesEdited by Rhynerd: 6/4/2017 9:28:12 PMAs far as I know, I'm the only Dirty Bomb fan here on Bungie.net. At the very least, I'm the most vocal Dirty Bomb fan on Bungie.net. Recently, the game released a new update for a map called Dockyard. Besides adding a new map and tweaking the balance a bit, it also changed the loading screen and dialogue for the other maps to indicate some greater story connecting all the objective maps. Before this update, the story of Dirty Bomb was mostly known as this: It is the year 2020. London has been hit with a series of dirty bombs, forcing a complete evacuation of the city. The CDA has since taken control of the area and closed it off with a containment shield. The main cast is a variety of mercenaries who are making more than a living by taking contracts inside of this sealed-off London. A group named Jackal is hiring mercenaries in order to raid or destroy CDA facilities, while the CDA is hiring mercs to help defend these key areas. It seems that this group, Jackal, has some great objective that they're trying to complete through these different missions, all on different maps. One step is destroying the containment shields, but there's something more. If anyone's interested, I'd love to try and hammer out a theory with them.

HEY MOM! I MADE IT ON THE POST!
Haha, yeah, I enjoy theories aswell, but one game that actually made me theorise (instead of just watching yt videos), was Undertale. The game has quite a lot of unsolved mysteries oeft for players to theorise over. Stuff like W. D. Gaster, the royal scientists before Alphys who "fell into his creation". MatPat did a video on that and while it may be far fetched, it's brilliant. However a theory of my own has to do with the "big baddie", Chara, the 1st human that fell into the underground. Now, what's the theory? Well, 1st off, lets get what we know about them on the table: They are the 1st human to have fallen into the underground, and were treated nicely by the monsters, and they got adopted by the Dreemurr family. They made friends with Asriel. These 2 became great friends, and trusted each other greatly. One day Chara became very ill and died. Asriel took their soul and carried it to the village of the humans and when he came back he died. Upon completing the genocide route chara comes back to life "reincarnated" and destroys the underground. You can't reset, unless you give them your soul, corrupting the timelines and making the pacifist ending have chara in it. So, having all that out the way, let's discuss their death. We know they poised themself with the flowers, but why? Is it possible Chara got so attached to the monsters when they heard of how they got trapped there they wanted to set them free by killing themself so Asriel may cross the barrier and take to human souls to destroy the barrier? Very likely that's the reason why. But then, how do we know for sure? Well, Asriel tells us that when he was up there, that chara did want to do that, but he didn't let them. So, it's likely chara didn't know that asriel wouldn't do that, they just had trust in them, leading to a failed plan. However, Asriel knew about chara's suicide, maybe he was just so shocked, and failed to execute the plan as a consequence? Possible, but not confirmed. Also, just something I'd like to mention, before fighting Sans, flowey will say "we wouldn't hesitate to KILL one another", this then leads to him regretting he said that and being scared of the player. So... why the whole "destroy the underground!" Thing? Weren't they friends? Well, here's the theoretical part, which may be very confusing. A player who knows nothing about the game upon first loading it will choose the name to be... well, whatever their name is. Jack, Sam, Wendy, whatever. This is not wrong of the player to do, even though the cannonical name is chara. Chara says "my name is '(name)' " usually shocking players who input their name. So, chara somehow follows the player, better yet, is within the player, and is influenced by their actions, you know, genocide. That could be an answer to why they shift from "friendly human" to psychopath. But then, how? How is it that they're with the player, or do they just represent the player? Well, considering you name them after yourself, and basic game mechanics (saving, loading, resetting) are all actually part of the game's canon, it's not unlikely the naming process also has something 4th wall breaky to it. It could also be that since Frisk falls on the bed of flowers, some magical stuff happens, since chara's coffin in the dreemurr castle is empty, the body could have been burried there. I hope you get my thought process, because I'm not even sure how to explain it. Basically: either chara is an idiot, or asriel is a wuss.
This was a mindf**k for me too. Sorry if you didn't understand.
4 RepliesEdited by CheshireGrin92: 6/7/2017 10:47:28 PMEntei, Suicune, and Raikou where originally eevees: -the canon lore of the two towers in that Pokémon game (silver and gold) say that lighting struck the tower causing it to catch fire and burn it to the ground only three nameless Pokémon where unable to escape and died in the fire. Seeing the loss of life Ho-Oh brought them back to life as embodiments of the elements of the disaster The lighting that struck the tower (Raikou) the fire that burnt it down (Entei) and the rain that put it all out (suicune). -there are really only two Pokémon in the gen 1 and 2 area that fit the transforming thing Ditto and eevee. -Back then it seems Pokémon didn't have names for each species hence the 'nameless' thing or that the bodies had been burnt so bad they couldn't tell. -Assuming the all dittos are failed clones of new theory is correct that leaves only eevee. -What's more the three legendary Pokémon can be seen as extremely powerful verisons of the original three eeveelutions which are also connected to fire, lighting, and water. -On the same notes eevee already has the potential to evolve based on those elements.

1 ReplyNow, I have been using Ganondorf against my brother lately, and he cannot seem to beat me. We think we know why, and we think it puts Ganon at the top of the tiers. I will be brief. Ganondorf has his air forward. We call it 'The Punch.' It has that special hitbox like a sword, hence it goes right through anything except an attack with that same type of hitbox. It does 17% max, is relatively fast executing, has basically instant recovery on a barrier cancel, and is quite massive, killing at rather low percentages. If he misses, he can just do his A punch if the opponent tries to retaliate, or shield/roll. I am telling you, Ganondorf is a crazy meat mountain who crushes bones with many attacks doing 15+%, survives to insane damages thanks to his weight, and has ridiculous horizontal recovery (Double Jump, Ganondorf Kick Down B, ANOTHER Double Jump, ARE YOU SERIOUS, Up B). Next, check his roll. It goes like half screen. It makes him rather fast, nearly eliminating his speed problem on the ground, and a great character when it comes to the defensive game. It pretty much eliminates the need for his wavedash, which, with Ganondorf, who needs to do most of his attacking from hops, is pretty much useless already unless you are looking to smash attack. Wavesmashing, however, in my opinion, is also a bad idea, because, in the time and damage it takes you to actually land a smash, you could have just used The Punch and killed you opponent by then.

5 RepliesAs far as my spiteful (towards me) memory lets me think, I only have one theory. However, it's Destiny related, so I won't share it with you unless you ask. Think of this oddly deflective response as a free bump, though!

6 RepliesJack Cooper is an IMC spy. -He never truly cared for BT -General Marder ignores him during the campaign. -During training he's already significantly better than most Pilots in the Militia's 9th Fleet. He gains Pilot abilities without receiving augmentations. Jack Cooper is a Simulacrum IMC Pilot underneath his fake skin. He's a veteran and experienced in dealing with the Militia. This explains his ability to be one of the best Pilots without training, augmentations, implants, and genetic modification. His actions on Typhon have made him one of the most trusted Pilots in the Militia. Which puts him as a spy, in a very good position. Marder ignores Cooper because the events on Typhon were all planned out. Jack sends everything he knows as a report to Marder every week. This would make an IMC Campaign in Titanfall 3 highly possible.

1 ReplyI'm not sure if this fits the purpose of this thread, but I remember there was a theory that there was a 4th island in GTA3 that you could fly to using the dodo plane. I flew that P.OS. for hours trying to find it.

4 RepliesBush did 9/11... Well my game is very recent, as in last friday. Tekken 7 theory here i come.
Heihachi could've killed Kazuya, his son, again. Yet he chose not too. He threw him off a cliff once when Kazuya was a kid. We find out it's too see if Kazuya does have the devil gene. Mind you this is after the guy basically has to kill Kazumi(his wife). My guy shed a tear and everything and said that Kazuya meant the world to her and him when he was first born. After the second tournament Heihachi beat Kazuya anf threw him into a soon erupting volcano. My mans Kazuya is D.e.d, dead. Fast forward like 22 years in the timeline. Heichachi is talking to a reporter (with the most annoying voice ever) and shares what ya boi cartis just shared with you, he even relates with the guy with how his family is basically gone. The reporter then questions why Heichachi would say all this to him. Fast forward about a day or so and he's confronting Kazuya for what will be the final time. Ya boy Heichachi sheds a tear. He could've finished kazuya, but he chose not too. The end. Game 2 of the finals on. Golden State in 6
